I know this is nothing new but I thought I would share in hope it may benefit another poor fool like me.

Man, I have been lazy, ecologically and financially. I often order an amount of whip material so when it gets dirty I just cut it and chuck it. I do not feel good about this wasteful and unthrifty behavior so I am changing my tune. Now I clean my whip. I just blast very hot water through the tube, both directions, then I drain it, put ISO in the tube and shake around, then just blast with hot water again, whip it and blow it dry with my electric blower and it comes out looking and tasting clean as a whistle good as new. Sorry 7th floor it looks like I won't be ordering much whip material in the future. Now my goal is to see how many years I can get this whip to last while I enjoy the extra :2c: in my pocket.

:myday:

I use high temp silicone I bought off amazon. I cleaned it once, after someone combusted with it. ISO then a water rinse and let it dry for a week or so. It must be getting around 8 months old by now. I really don't notice any taste of it at all. Maybe I'll race you, lol.

I'm still on my original whip, 5 year old now. I run hot water through it, then do a dry run through the SSV, and it is ready for use again. I do this weekly, and though it doesn't look like new, it is still perfectly serviceable :)

Well, looks like my Surfer could be headed here any day now.

Is there anything I need to know about maintenance, or general tips for keeping it pristine as long as possible?

Stickstones, do you or anyone else know which glass the cosmetic seconds silver surfer from 7th floo ships with. I want to place my order asap. Is it the hands free ground glass option?

I think you order the one you want, and specify the connection preference, at least that's what I did.

Was thinking about selling my SSV......

and then I found out that with a steel mesh pad and some wax, it becomes a fucking E-Nail!!! Amazing flavor and clouds on hits. Really not that far behind in effectiveness and ease of use from my Evo with concentrates, although of course nowhere near the flower ability IMO

Yeah, you should be able to choose at checkout. If not, then you will get whatever one they have on there.

Thanks for the reply Steama! It is really looking like I will make this purchase. I am torn between the Silver Surfer and a more economic option in the Extreme Q. Anyone have any experience with the Extreme Q?

Yes i do had a Eq for nearly two years and got rid of it for a cosmetic second Ssv with Recycler, It really depends on what your looking for as to which would be best for you, If bags are not an absolute must and you don't care about digital temp control the surfer is probably a better choice. I gotta add that those digital temps are usually off by around 50 degrees f. I personally find the flavor to be better on Ssv and much bigger clouds.

The Q was my first vape, and once I never used bags anymore I got the SSV and the Q was shelved for good.

The cosmetic seconds rarely have anything noticeable. You guys can use the link in my sig to get an exta 10% off them as well.

I have both the Q and the SSV so hear my take or read it.

The Q is OK however ignore the display it's only a ideal.
The price is low so for the $ it's good.
DDave kit does make it perform better.

The SSV is more analog however I love my glass knob.
The price is a bit higher however I love it's power.
Ground glass is better than standard I believe.

Note: I haven't tried bags because I don't medicate with them.
I use both however depends on your needs?

I don't take T-breaks so changing vaporizers is what I do to change it up.

Thanks for the insight! If they were both equally priced which would you pick?
I am having trouble selecting as this will be my first vaporizer and have no reference as to whether I will use the bag or not. I usually just dab, however after long lurking on this forum have decided to say goodbye to combustion. Any attachments you have found necessary for the SSV?

For attachments I would get either the ground glass or the spherical ground glass heater cover/whip combo over the standard. Much easier on noobs.

Good decision man, I've made the same change..

In fact I was once known as Sir_dabs(a lot).

However I bought a DBV, and haven't regretted a single moment.
DBV and SSV are nearly the same unit.

I second @shredder , go for the Ground Glass heater cover... Very "NOOB friendly."

If you usually dab, I think we have some commonalities.

I have zero desire for a "bag system" .. I feel like a bit of actives are lost due to the large surface area of the balloon.

Converting to Vaporization from exclusive dabbing, you're going to want a shorter vapor path, to obtain all vapor particles possible.

As far as attachments..
I'd start by getting the @DDave modd kit , and a bubbler. In addition to the ground glass heater cover.
**Edit; you will need the GG heater cover to accommodate the awesomeness of DDave's kit(s)**

Thanks Hashtag and Shredder! I will definitely get the ground glass cover. I have not heard of this DDave kit. What is it, and how would I go about purchasing it? Thanks to your good recommendations I have just purchased the SSV and am eager to receive it and give it a go!!

Any attachments you have found necessary for the SSV?

EQ basket screens, can be used for very small loads, a cap for the GG wand so you don't need to worry about blowing back into the wand, or used as an adjustable basket screen in any wand (once metal ring is removed).

EQ was my first vape too, I upgraded to the SSV,. Heat up time is not even close, vapor density can be close but you need to mod the EQ to achieve this. Not that the EQ is bad, the SSV is just more versatile IMO.

Hit this.. @DDave <<<<<

His profile will appear, hit "Start a Conversation"
He will give ya a direct link to his EBay listing.

Get the most recent kit.

It may seem like a simple basket screen and a generic wand, but the dimensions are different... (Custom made for optimal air flow with no resistance.)
These very small details, make a large impact .

A small example..
When you first use your new toy, use the Tubing(whip) at the length they send it as.

After a few sessions, cut about 1/3 off, then compare...

This shows exactly how seemingly small variables play huge roles.

Thanks for helping a noob out Hashtag! I messaged Ddave and am now aware of the benefits of his kit. Will place an order this week!

What is that?
T-Break is short code for
Tolerance Break or T(HC)-Break.

These breaks will reset the CB receptors, (somewhat)

I combat tolerance issues by simply limiting myself to a single session , waiting all day, and abstaining until it's bedtime...

I have to have at very least one uptake of Cannabinoids per day to keep inflammation in check.
If the God damned gov. Would release the Schedule 1 status, we could replace pharms like Humira, Enbrel etc..(but that is for another thread)

This method has allowed me to partake in Cannabis daily for 2 decades without missing a single day...

And, I must admit...
When I do limit myself to the one bedtime session...

Damn, it is so rewarding,....

The days in which I get high all day long, the bedtime sesh loses it's magic.

Thanks for helping a noob out Hashtag! I messaged Ddave and am now aware of the benefits of his kit. Will place an order this week!

You are very welcome ..

And.. I almost forgot....

Welcome to FuckCombustion!!

You're gonna love the community here, very family like, completely different than any other pot related forum I've engaged in. (Most every single one)

Always feel free to ask questions...
The only dumb question, is the question that is never asked.

SSV will last you years of glorious vapor production.

Whee, enjoying the end to a relaxing weekend with my ssv and ddave's mods :) coming up to a year of owning mine, a black blemished unit, and I'm still in love. I'd like to find a water piece that won't cause significant blowback, the dry winter air is wreaking havoc on my throat and lungs, the D020 is wonderful on its own but the blowback is too strong :(
