Some beautiful looking rosin pics guys. What is this procedure for cold curing? Is that some time in the fridge or freezer? I stopped messing with heating to post-process. Is cold processing a better method to change consistency?
No idea whether I’m doing it right but have been experimenting and basically:
1) as soon as it comes out of the press I remove the puck and put the parchment with goodness on my cold metal tray thing I got from dulytech and put my flowerpot stand on top of it (which had been sat on the cold tray). Essentially pressed between two ice coldish bits of metal.
2) then collect straight in to glass jar
3) lid off I put the glass jar in a bigger container in the freezer (outer container quite big, just wanted to reduce the total space for terps to evaporate into but still giving it plenty of air)
4) after a few hours (have experimented between 1.5 hours and overnight when I fall asleep and forget) remove from freezer and immediately put lid on (stops water vapour in air condensing into your rosin and causing the crackle when dabbing)
5) give it a little while to heat up so it doesn’t ping everywhere when whipping it. Then whip it (I think light whip ends up more solid and heavy whip might stay more saucy, but that observation might be strain related instead of the whipping)
6) lid back on and room temp for a few hours (again experimentation needed but between 6 and 24 probably a good starting point). Then it went more like this (think this was a longer freezer session but not sure on how long at room temp. Would have been a light whip also)
