I have pressed at lower temps and I don't like the waxy consistency. I prefer it a little stickier.
It also depends on what strain it is and what I'm doing with it. Today, I pressed some Cinderella for edibles and so I went higher for better yield. I don't get any yield at 190F. I press at 200 or 210 if I want it tastier but, never under 200F.
And, it probably also depends on how big your press is. I am pressing 2 gram pucks on 4" diameter plates.
Plus, I'm sure you verified your temps. I have heard that many factory units show a different temp on the display than is actually on the plates.
