@tylerj55 that cable should be fine, you can pull the pins out of the dupont connector and move them to wherever you need them I am pretty sure, you will also need an STLink v2 from ebay which is like $5
The provided tools from ST are user friendly enough that I think a walkthrough could be made for the average user to flash the firmware, I am just not using them for development other than the Cube32MX to initially configure the processor.
I have talked it over with a few people in the community about the most intuitive interface for adding additional / configurable temperature modes and the consensus so far is to just extend the existing interface with new colors.
The default temperature modes are 450F, 500F, 550F, 600F (Blue, Green, Red, White)
It was suggested to offer 500, 525, 550, 575, 600, 625, 650, 675 modes but I would need to come up with easily identifiable colors for them.
I also would like to add an intuitive interface for resetting / locking the cold coil resistance
I put up another github repo over the weekend with the react-native app boilerplate for the bluetooth component, but not everyone will want to crack open their device to install that as I mentioned.
