All opinion here based on use and ownership. Then Silver Surfer carries around half as much as the Plenty, is built out of stronger material (plastic versus aluminum), is cheaper to maintain (less moving parts), good with a whip or a glass piece.

The Plenty is my favorite party vape. 1 gram loads, easy for anyone to use, even new users. While you can cut down the load with concentrate pads, capsules, ect I find they compromise the best feature of the plenty that being a broad wide open oven. I am not saying it won't serve you well but that it is more of a niche vape for me.

The ELEV8R is a powerhouse, with excellent control with decent adaptability with glass. load range sizes out of the box is between .55 g to .1 g. Downsides that exposed coil heater will fire you up. Currently, it's my go to for tasty single hits.

The LSV, one of my favorite vapes. Most of the quality and advantages of the Silver Surfer in a smaller handier package. Downsides it has a cylindrical body that can roll onto the floor really quick, and it is no longer in production. Sniff, sniff, whine!

Good Luck and enjoy whatever vape you choose.
Thanks for the info, the silver surfer is more expensive than the current plenty on offer, I will probs go with the plenty, i love all its weirdness and analog dial. And I did own a volcano classic that you just couldn’t kill, thing was built like a tank, (and bowls same size as the volcano and it wasn’t a problem for me, I’m a heavy vaper:D), so should be reliable I’m sure. Also I’m not interested in running this thru water as I’ve hear this is smooth (volcano was very cool vapour), I have many dynavaps for that:tup:.

I like to load around 5g in mine when I use it...good for a movie-length sesh that way...with a j-hook, maintaining that S/S cooling coil was the only maintenance problem I had, the rest is simple and robust.
thank you for your reply man, so would you say a brand new plenty delivered for £169.09 is good?, if so I’m gonna pull the trigger I think and get one, always liked it’s weirdness.

how does the vapour compare ?
I never went the bag vape route so I do not know.
Performance-wise not much can match vaping 5g at once (even dabs but that is a different bend), you are the fan compared to the Volcano and need to move the hot air thru the load. Not much visible vapour for the first 2 pulls (but great flavour) but the third toke onward rips. I only swapped to a glass WPA/j-hook after a few months for easier maintenance and a better feel on the lips over plastic.

Whats the performance like out the box ? (Un hacked), coming from a volcano classic, how does the vapour compare ?
I have every SB vape except plus or hybrid editions. I think that extraction goes as far as it goes on the Volcano, I tried to revape Plenty’s abv on my Volcano at 230° C and got negligible amount of vapor every time, even if they said Plenty only reaches 205°.
Flavor is top notch and clean as in every SB vape.
I love Volcano bags better than anything else but Plenty comes in use at nighttime (no noise filling the bags), or when I don’t want to be bothered by the battery of my portables. It has a long cable and no glass so it’s perfect as a heavy duty vape and for evenings on the couch.

The volcano was noisy and the cats always ended up putting holes in my bags:rofl: (which were quite expensive for what they are), I never went beyond 7.5 on the volcano classic. Edit-just pulled the trigger on the plenty (Great deal), I’ve always loved the look of these things since they came out.

Sadly by the time I pay shipping I can get a new one cheaper here. Looks beautiful by the way. EDIT-what is it like to own, I’m looking to only get one electronic vape And I like the analog nature of the plenty.
Sorry for the tardy reply... Owning it is great except for the fact that I'm a family man and most of my vaping needs to be semi-covert. So, for me, portables are much easier to use. If I didn't need to put it away after each use, I'd keep it for sure. It is the only desktop I've ever owned, but I've used a friends Volcano on 2 occasions. I know it's a personal opinion, but the bags just really turned me off for some reason. This thread helped me with the few options I have included in my post, and I very much prefer the j-hook v/s the OEM metal tube and plastic mouthpiece. Since I am a microdoser I call the Plenty my "heavy hitter". I have tinkered with the dosing capsules, but settled on the "if I'm getting the Plenty out, I'm going to the moon" philosophy, lol. So, when it comes out, it gets a full chamber and I go for a full ride!

Peese!

Thank man:tup: I’m not regretting my purchase one bit now. EDIT-is it worth getting a reducer for the plenty?

So far been hearing people say it doesn’t get hot enough, does fine for me, only had 3 or 4 bowls so far but I’m by no means an expert:lol:, but I like it so far. And I’ve also owned a volcano classic and hybrid.

Hello fellow vaper's. Common sense tells me that after some 3000+ post about the S&B Plenty, the simple hacks I'm going to share have already been posted, but since I'm pleased as punch with the way these hacks worked out for me, and I've figured out how to post images, (thanks Stu) I figure I'll post a couple tips that made my Plenty a plenty more enjoyable.

The Hex Wrench Hack:
The first issue I had with the Plenty is the need to constantly pull and click that orange handled safety switch. Gee Wizz, what a pain!!! My solution is to simply slide a 1.5mm hex (allen) wrench through the body of the Plenty so that it keeps the safety switch handle in the pulled possition. The hex wrench hack will keep your Plenty turned on and set at your prefered temp for your entire sesh and defeat the safety switch opperated by the orange handle. Just pull the orange handle up tight and slide the 1.5mm hex wrench (or a small nail) through the front and back holes, exactly as shown in the pictures. That's all, it's that simple. Enjoy WITH CARE!

The Water Pipe Hack:
The other issue I had is that I have ALWAYS inhaled through water, and still do. The very first time I vaped dry herb was through Eagle Bill's GIANT waterpipe in The Hash Museum. So how to connect that SS cooling coil tube to a water pipe was my next issue. I know there are a lot of solutions to that problem, I saw many of them online. I discovered that for me, the easiest solution was to simply remove the mouthpiece and to fold the silicon tube over itself and it fit perfectly into my pipe. See the pictures below. I later just cut the SS coil to a much shorter and more managable size for me to use. FYI, HERE is where I get my pipe.

To the best of my limited knowledge, neither of these hacks will void your warranty. You do not need to open your Plenty, just adjust it a little bit.
Below are the pictures to show the hacks. Enjoy them and feel free to ask..... I hope this will help Plenty users enjoy vaping even more.

I would not go sticking any metal object into the body of an AC powered vape, just run a rubber band around the handle looped on the orange filling chamber tab if you want to be unsafe without getting electrocuted.
Also to get rid of the metal (and for a proper fit) use a GonG WPA mated directly to the black filling chamber.

My plenty was gathering dust on my shelf for the last few years. I saw the posts here about modding the max temperature. Id actually been thinking it was possible for a while based on the mechanism. So I took it apart (needs torx screwdriver bit) and then used a dremel to get rid of that notch inside that stops you setting the temperature any higher.

It worked a treat! Gets as hot as I want it now. I havent used it on the max setting possible, if you imagine the wheel I've been keeping it at around "8" rather than the new max of "9".

So I got in and modded mine, I just snipped the tab off with side-cutters, did not have to remove the mech to do the mod.

I did unplug the on/off switch wires so I could remove the orange safety trigger as mine had quite a bit of reclaim build-up along with the inner shell, lots of iso and q-tips fixed it.
It has had a lot of 4g+ loads run thru it...can you tell?

Good to see even a fouled-up, dripping with sticky goo version like mine still functioned flawlessly.
I will try some testing soon but it seems to function and heats up just fine...might start at '8' as @seatsniffer suggests.

Broke out the Plenty today and ran it through my water pipe. I have been vaping 4 different strains and I had forgotten how high this thing gets you. I have had it since 2013 and have never had to many problems. The orange timer you grip seems to be a little off. When you grip it the orange light flickers then won't come on until you click it a couple more times. Anyway I still love this thing.
