..hello.
...there's a strong chance some of the technical aspects in this post may be...wrong..but after 3 years I have finally found the root of my problems w/ performance from my plenty.
...I say performance meaning the big, thick, dense, flavorful draws that were always promised in reviews and what not but never achieved,..and I tried...all of it,..grinds,moisture,.pre-heating/soaking,..all that stuff...but same old mediocre results.
And the most annoying thing was the fact that sometimes it would rip,..and a session after,it would deliver weak results..it was driving me crazy,..especially since I paid the full $350.
I just always knew I was doing something not right..and kept plugging away.
(..I won't go into product vs. learning curve here...the machine is a lawn mower..it gobbles it up..).
I realized an aspect of the machine I never took into account,..that is that the plenty is both conduction and convection.
I always packed in the direct center of the screen..today I packed along the outer ring of steel to the center...i used a full crafty load as a reference point of material and put a pad on top.
So now both heat methods were covered and my plenty performed like a monster from cold.
No preheat,..or soaking,..or crazy rain dance bullshit..it just worked.
...I hope my stupidity can help anyone reach they're goal w/ the plenty...
...it's a special piece of gear.
