Thank you
@Squiby, I understand the need for and will happily turn stubby vongs but I much prefer the slender look.
Threading condensers has always been fun, I can square the die to the tube using the tailstock but they have a tendency to bend out of shape meaning each one needs tapping true again with a copper mallet.
There's always a solution and a quick scout round found just the piece of tooling needed, not so fond memories of engineering work came flooding back.
Tailstock Die Holder was the solution, wasn't sure it was going to be okay for my needs straight out of the box when I tried it with some WD40 type oil.
Apologies for the fone going out of focus.
Of course to be sure it works properly I needed to do a practice run and if I'm making a practice piece I'll kill a couple of birds with one stem and try another idea out.
Watched an amazing pen turner, proper amazing pen turner. Mentally complex segmented pieces.
An idea he used for accents had to be tried out.
BW and Buckeye, synthetic antique ivory and something as simple as blank credit cards, white, black, white sandwich in this case.
@Mr. Me2 low temp or convection powered hand work again for you.
