Leadwood enclosure which came from a bowl blank I bought at the local turners show.
This stuff is really dense and rock hard, catch it wrong and it digs out big chunks.
Finish at 600 grit is so smooth, no wax in this clip

Sumac never disappoints, the branch this came from has been sat waiting for the right turn.
Sumac not really being a wood has this thick spongy pith in the centre, the mishap lead to more than on centre and more pith.
Crab Apple which played hard to get where the end grain was concerned, the keenest edge being on my roughing gouge. Well overdue sharpening session tomorrow.
