Hello fc compadres! New to the site and have only been vaping for less than a year. However I'm a quick learner and I'm definitely not new to medicinal flowers, fungus, roots, seeds .
My first vape purchase was the Pax2. I took my time reading up on various portables and had tried a few including the original Pax which I instantly fell in love with.
As soon as I was about to pull the trigger on the purchasing of the Pax I noticed a price drop on their website. I knew one of the reasons cold be a new unit could be expected so I waited. A week later the announcement for Pax2 came out and I was able to get it the first day of sale!
Like most vapes there is a learning curve when using the Pax2. It took some time for me to find a way to take draws from it to my liking.
Heres what's worked for me.
First I'm not sure where all the comments from air restriction is coming from. I will add that after my first cleaning of the unit I placed and pushed the oven screen in to deep. I wasted an oven trying to pull from it. To correct this issue I popped the oven screen back out and placed it back at the recommended angleb over the vape pathway. It's going to be slightly uneven but that's a good thing.
I have tried lightly grinding my flowers to finely grinding them and found that the finely ground product works best. A little will slip past the screen up to the mouth unit so regular cleaning of at least the mouthpiece may be needed.
Pulling from the unit is best done by using your diaphram. That way it becomes more of a slow consistent type draw. If you're trying to inhale like a mad man you will get nowhere fast but with practice you'll be pulling hits with ease.
Lip placement is also important. You're not trying to lip lock the unit. Like a quick kiss or quick peck if you will is all you need. The loose placement will cause some air from the side of you're lips to come in but eventually through use you'll be able to pull from the unit with more air coming through the unit. You'll feel the heat a tad bit more and notice the taste will be a little stronger.
With practice you should be able to take straight draws with no air constrictions and no need for "sipping".
Secondly I've read some comments about how the Pax2 is a hog and can not be used with minimum amounts. This is so untrue as the last few posts have mentioned.
Simply fill enough to cover the oven screen. Place secondary pipe screen in and BAM!
I can get 8-10 hits at 360. Let it cool, open up the oven, stir and do it again for another 3-5 hits at 360. You can stir it up a third time and get a couple more pulls at 380 but I only do that when I'm being lazy to reload.
I do not use the higher heat settings past 380. To be honest you will not see a whole lot of vape doing it this way after the first two pulls. At first I could only taste it and a few minutes later I could feel the effects. Than I was standing by my range hood in the kitchen which has lights underneath it. As I exhaled I saw the vapor clear as day.
If you don't think you're getting any vapors but taste it than your good. Want proof? It's silly but turn a flashlight on and exhale through it after taking a draw. You should see you're vapor =) Hope this helps!
Anyways I'm ready to purchase my first home unit and look forward to frequenting the board. Happy vaping!
