Also if your new to vaping , I found that happened with me my 1st week. This was years ago but a glass of cold water should help between hits .
Nope, far from new. I have no problem with any of my glass. After about 3-4 hits it really starts to irritate my throat and I have to stop. Never had anything bother me like this before. I know the ground material isnt an issue either...

I got to say I really like the Pax 2 , I was not a huge fan of the 1st version after owning it for some time and my other portables quickly took over, I won't get to into it but I just felt it spent my material way to quick. This is my 1st few days with Pax 2 and so far it puts out nice vapor for me , it's very easy to pack , I just use a dube tube poor in my material and tamp it down with my finger and start at pedal 2 and work my way up. I get very nice clouds and medicated quickly. Heat up time is reasonable , flat mouth piece works very nicely. I took it out for the 4th to a party last night and everyone enjoyed it , even my buddy had is pax 1 there last night and he couldn't keep his hands off my pax 2 , I think we have a converter . Unlocked simon and heard funky town play, very cool . Just be careful with the flat mouth piece guys and parties with drunk people , I learned the hard way when I had explained to someone that was kind of drunk and how to use it , he kind violated my pax 2 and deep throated it after a explanation lol , a soft microfiber towel and a drop of rubbing alcohol made her feel better again. So far so good , happy 4th of July to everyone and thanks to @Ojan_at_PAX and the Pax team for a great session vape that not only looks cool but makes for great sessions with friends . I had the lights in the sky last night and the lights in my hands , it made a perfect 4th.

Yeah the Pax2 is awesome for sessions and for being out and about like last night, watching the fireworks and having it in party mode. I felt like I had two light shows!

Hiya folks! I have been really enjoying my pipe tobaccos with my Solo, mostly with the power adapter for many multiples of sessions that can last for hours, one stem-full after the next. I have found that conduction vaping produces much superior vapor density & flavor concentration than convection (e.g., Nano) for this purpose, yielding a much more intense nuttier, toastier, sweeter flavor. Conduction heat-soaking also greatly improves the experience, so a leisurely pace is definitely a plus. When using the battery only for the same enjoyment, I must of course be limited to perhaps 2-3 stemfuls before needing a recharge (approx. 1.5- 2hrs.). I'd appreciate your opinions/guidance on whether the Pax 2 might suit my purpose for pipe tobacco - I'd like to have an idea as to how many leisurely fully packed (i.e., not rushed) sessions I might expect to get on a single charge; can I pack/press down the tobacco very tightly without worry of damaging the oven (tightly packed baccy produces much superior results when vaping)?; is there yet available a dedicated wall charger for the Pax 2?; are there any plans for the next iteration of the Pax 2 to be pass-through while charging, or power-adapter usable?; can the battery be swapped out by the end user (like the Solo)?; any other thoughts or ideas you might be able to offer in this regard. Thanks!

not sure on this one, i've been impressed with the battery life but i only run the device for 5-10 minutes for a session.

can I pack/press down the tobacco very tightly without worry of damaging the oven (tightly packed baccy produces much superior results when vaping)?;

yes, i would think so. the pax instructions encourage a tight pack and that's what i've done, with good results.

is there yet available a dedicated wall charger for the Pax 2?;

no, not that i've seen, but i've heard from others that the first gen wall charger fits the second gen usb charger. but the usb charger itself pretty much requires the device to lie flat, so that would seem to eliminate any chance for a pass-through

are there any plans for the next iteration of the Pax 2 to be pass-through while charging, or power-adapter usable?; can the battery be swapped out by the end user (like the Solo)?;

see above for future pass through plans. the battery is not removable.

edit: and regarding my own use experience, raffoutloud's review above on this page of the thread captures it perfectly.

Few questions , maybe someone can help me out : I'd like to order a few screens and i noticed the 3d screen. Will i loose room in my oven using this compared to stock ? this is something i don't want to do. Also wondering how the 3d screen handles the heat compared to stock ? Ty

3d screen? Is that after market or made by Ploom? Or the New Vape screen and pusher?

It is the 3d screen from newvape , its not made by pax . I am only interested in the 3d screen though and peoples thoughts ?
I'm told that screen does take up some oven space. I got the pusher from New Vape and really like it. I use it with the pax screen. You should confirm your Vape has the current pax screen design. They added little "feet" to the underside of the screen.

Well I'm back to post my experience with the pax 2. I've used it for about a week and and I think I have enough experience to give a valid opinion.

First off, the battery is great. I've only had the battery die on me once and that was after I was using it for the majority of the day. I use my iPad charging square thing to charge it and it charges pretty fast. Seems like only two hours although I haven't really timed it exactly. I usually just charge it at the end of the day or during my down time. I've never actually had to take the charger with me though, which says a lot.

Also, the high is like nothing I've ever experienced. It's so clean and intense, and it's consistently like that. I usually pack the oven full and can get about 25 draws out of it. When vapor production gets low I just open the oven lid, use it to pack it down a little, and I'm good to go. There might be a better method but this is quick and easy and results are good. I also up the temperature throughout and usually finish on three or four.
I've noticed it vaporizes the herb very evenly throughout. I never see any green patches so I don't ever worry about uneven vaporization.

The taste is great. Never experienced that nice taste in my bong or bubbler. I really have no complaints here. Taste starts to dwindle after about a dozen draws but it's expected, and it's not like it tastes bad. I haven't really gotten that nasty popcorn taste people talk about, even with completely vaporized weed. Maybe it's because I'm new to vaping, idk.

Cleaning is very easy. I reuse my pipe cleaner for about 4 cleanings and then I cash it. It really doesn't take much, and these pipe cleaners and iso should last me probably a month at least. I also bought some aftermarket pipe cleaners and got more iso, so I'll be set for a very long time. I just use a paper towl damped with alcohol to wipe the inside of the oven and the oven lid, floss the vapor path with a pipe cleaner, and call it a day. Takes about five minutes at the most.

The only complaint I have is that the metal gets pretty hot. It's not enough to the point where I get burned but when you're, you know, high, it kind of makes me a bit cautious. Other than that, I can't say anything bad about it. Except I get too high so I can't beat simon mode.

I have seen that EveryoneDoesIt has the pax 2 for sale on their website, I have contacted them and they claim the unit ships from the UK and that it has the 10 year warranty. Are they an authorized retailer?
Thanks

Hmm, that sounds very sketchy. Our products aren't sold outside of the US/Canada so they won't ship from the UK, and there aren't any authorized retailers in the UK at this time so there won't be a manufacturer's warranty. I'll do some digging but feel free to message me a link and any other details you may have. We'd love to take a closer look and possibly reach out to them.

EveryoneDoesIt is an FC sponsor and a reliable vendor with a good reputation here. If they are offering grey market Pax units, they are almost certainly providing warranty replacements themselves. I'm sure they'd welcome the chance to be an authorized dealer and I think they'd be a good match for you guys.

Thanks for letting me know that EveryoneDoesIt is an FC sponsor! Good to know that you guys have a great relationship with them.

Our concern here is that, since these devices are being sold outside of the US/Canada, there is a possibility that they may be counterfeit. Regardless of whether or not EveryoneDoesIt has the intention of honoring a replacement under a warranty other than the one offered by PAX Labs, counterfeit devices may expose the user to serious health and safety risks from electrical components, defective batteries, unprotected heating elements, and fire hazards.

We want to see PAX anywhere and everywhere, so the more authorized retailers the better. However claiming a 10 year warranty for these devices is a bit misleading, as they make no point to differentiate their service from PAX Labs. We're sure that EveryoneDoesIt has no intention of misleading, or of selling counterfeit devices, so we'll be reaching out to help clear things up.

You guys can read more about PAX Labs and counterfeits here if interested!

Interested in everyone's packing method for a full oven with the pax 2 , what i do is keep my stash in a dube tube , pre grinded , pour in the chamber , pack down tightly with my finger ( very tight ) and than i just brush off the excess with a magic flight brush that came with the launch box. When doing a full chamber do pack the oven super tight or just tamp down lightly ? I find the more i try to pack down in there , the more big clouds i get even starting on temp 2 , but airflow suffers a tiny bit.

I pack a full oven the same way I pack one that isn't full: grind herb, pour into oven until it overflows (but not over the walls of the Pax), use the long edges of the cover to tamp the herb down, and then add more as needed and tamp/pack again. Repeat as needed. I like to pack tightly and I get great effects (I no longer care about clouds)

So i went ahead and contacted EveryoneDoesIt with the info FC has provided, and they told me they do not sell counterfeit products, wich I believe based on their reputation. They also told me they bought the pax2 from an authorized dealer.
I just want to do a safe and informed purchase preferably from a EU seller.
@Ojan_at_PAX what is your take in this?
Thanks

I appreciate your thoroughness! Authorized retailers receive their inventory directly from authorized distributors. Currently there are no authorized EU sellers, and EveryoneDoesIt is not authorized to sell our products on their website. They could very well be authentic, we're still looking into it, but a PAX purchase from them won't come with our 10 year warranty regardless of authenticity. Our sights are set on overseas expansion, so keep a close eye on us in the future!

I believe PAX is the most professional and marketable vaporizer company. No nonsense with great execution. Been seeing too many threads with companies teasing customers with ideas and getting them all pumped up. I only have the pax1, but when pax2 came out, it was delivering when a lot of other companies were making excuses on delays.

I grind all of my stuff for the day in the morning to let it dry out a little bit before use. Grind with a Cali Crusher Homegrown, full oven, medium pack. Start on one and smoke until vapor starts to get weaker, at which point I have a cuticle manicure tool (snake tongue shaped) that I use to stir and break up the weed a bit. Repeat for every setting until there is no vapor on four and the weed is a darker brown. Huge clouds from 1-4.

I'm wondering, how's the Pax2 compared to the MFLB? I possess the MFLB and would like to know if it's worth going to the pax, and why?

Two entirely different vapes that are nothing alike at all , there really is no comparison here. The Pax 2 heats up in about a minute , it will def get you medicated quicker imo than the mflb but you will go through more material. The Mflb is more of a one hitter type of vaporizer somewhat. Pax 2 is good for sessions weather it be a small session or longer session. Mflb you can always take a hit when you want and don't have to worry about a heat up process but with the pax you are waiting for a heat up and be prepared to take several hits. I did not care for my mflb much , i am not saying its not a good vape but it just took me to long to get where i wanted to be with it. Pax 2 has a 10 yr warranty and is a quality machine. This really all boils down to what you yourself are personally looking for out of a vaporizer ,if you can answer this question i am sure some more people here would be able to direct you better ?
