I wonder how well those glass adapters work? They look sexy but not sure how well they will seal against the PAX to get a good draw?
the way newvape adapters are vented on the bottom it looks like it could possibly increase draw resistance. im using my p2 without an adapter and have found that because of the existing draw restriction already in the p2, its desirable to have control over the vapor+air mix by releasing or applying pressure to the connection and because you are just simply holding the p2 against the glass stem you can control the seal manually like that. hehe

Has anyone cleaned and tried to fly with their Pax 2? Debating on bringing it tomorrow or not
Clean it well, and fill the oven with tobacco. Bring a pouch of tobacco as well. Makes sure the battery is drained, so it can't even be turned on. When you arrive, just dump out the tobacco.

If you accidentally double post, how do you simply delete it? I'm trying right now

A couple people have mentioned taking the puck of material out once it is nearly spent and flipping it around.

How are you doing that? With tweezers? Or are you just tapping it out as a block?

I wonder what kind of approach works best to allow for a flip, in terms of grind, pack and fullness.
If people are stirring it like they did with Pax 1 then I would suggest the nail cleaner part of a nail clipper or the foil remover of a wine/bar key. Keys can do the trick but don't have a fine enough tip to hit the corners.

So, you don't stir the block at all, even after it's been flipped and re-toasted? I suppose the "middle" of the brick gets toasted the least.

I like the nail clipper file idea, thanks! Yes, something with a very thin flat edge; I;ve bee using the "toothpick" attachment from a Swiss Army knife, but I'm still trying to come up with a better tool. The nail file is the closest household item there is, I bet!

Off this subject, I had to send my Pax 2 back for the battery indicator issue so I just broke out my Pax 1 to use until it's resolved... I can absolutely state that the Pax 2 is a BIG improvement. And it's funny how the Pax 1 mouthpiece now makes the device feel like I'm playing a kazaoo. :mental:

Hey guys, it's been awhile since I joined a discussion about a vape around here. I picked up a Pax 1 the day it came out and have been LOVING it (also loving Ploom's warranty and customer service department). I am ready to make the move to the Pax 2 but have a question about the charger.
I have a car charger for my pax 1 and was wondering if it is the same charger as Pax 2 (not the base unit, but the actual charging wire). Can I use the same car adapter with the 2 that I use with my 1?

Thanks!

Thank you for this comment, didn't realize how strong they smelled!
I've looked into it and there are 2 safe easy methods to deodorize these caps:
1) Baking Soda + Hot water. Soak caps in mixture (1/4 cup BS to 1qt water) - Let dry. Repeat as necessary
2) Vinegar + Hot water (2:1 ratio). Same process - soak, dry, repeat if necessary.

Once I figure out the best solution, I'm going to deodorize all other caps in my inventory

Edit - looks like hot water + vinegar is working better than Baking Soda. I am soaking them in Hot Vinegar Water for 1 minute, removing them and drying off for 10-20 minutes. Then repeat several more times.
Ratchett - Do you have similar caps for the pax 1? I have a friend who may need them.

I am going to order the caps from @Ratchett to deal with the odor this has while in pocket, I don't want this to become unpocketable with a smellproof case, that's the only reason I have this vape is for its small size.
I'm currently sourcing them for my own personal Pax1. Fill out the contact-us form on my website, I'll notify you when they arrive.

I picked up Ploom's official pouch for the Pax 1 from an LHS about a year ago, on clearance for $5. It is THICK felt and actually keeps the smell in more than anything else I've found. I haven't tried the caps, but I just use the felt pouch for the P1 with the P2, and since it's so much smaller it fits in there nicely with the end closed.

I don't notice smell unless it's left in the car all day, which I try not to do. I've carried it (both Paxes actually) around in my pocket loaded for an entire day with nary a head turned my way. I know it's not ideal at $20 from PAX Labs, but it works.

I got the Pax case free with my Pax 1 and I hated it...it was rough, and taking the Pax in and out of it was rubbing away the paint on the ends.

Hmm.. mine is very soft but I can see how the leather stitched around the top may be a problem on a new one... but it wasn't for me, ever. I've had it since last January and used it with my Pax 1 until I got my Pax 2 preorder and have been using it since with no issue.

I ended up buying one off Etsy. It's not as thick, so I don't know how it does on smell, as I don't have much of a sense of smell at all. It has a flap that buttons closed though, and it's sized so you can still use the vape while it's in it. Edit: Plus, custom colors, which is awesome.

For the folks asking about creating pucks and flipping them over. To do this, you really need to PACK the oven. I use like .04 of fine/med grind in a Diamond Grinder (love that thing) and I use the oven lid to pack things in. And I mean pack it in tight. Slow long pulls.

When it seems about spent, I let it cool, open oven and tap it a few times on a table and the puck drops out. I pick it up, flip it over and stick it back in. No stirring at all. I can get another 2 sessions after flipping. The oils keep it in tact fairly well.

Very cool.

I'm finding that a full and tight oven is the way to go in general. Just use it for a bunch of sessions if you don't use massive amounts at a time, like me. The packed oven produces better vapor. And I don't see a real downside to using the same load for a day or two or whatever.

This is getting off topic, but I'm wondering what other Pax users are using to carry around material. Is there a slick, pocketable container in kind of the same level of coolness as the Pax 2?

Almost there...

Have a look for Santa Cruz storage containers.
Aluminum, Anodized in a variety of colors and air and smell tight.
They would match the Pax2 in coolness!

Absolutely- the Pack n Stash no smell, no spillage, has a cool funnel that takes it from the grinder to the unit itself. It's weird but cool, and it works! Created by heavy users with too much time on their hands : )
