You know, a friend commented on the state of weed enjoyment these days, how there are so many accessories and tools and such...it's fun to take a step back from all the consumerism and see what kind of a market has developed, it's only going to keep growing

That said, I love all the gadgets, tools, techniques, and all the other good stuff that comes from innovation and improving upon experience. That Pack n Stash is a cute idea

i have also heard the flat mp is defective. apparently, it leaks resin into the cracks of the top of the unit and its impossible to clean. the raised mouthpiece doesn't have this issue which is why I'm hoping they make a better mouthpiece in the near future.

@adam_baumm I have both Jyarz and doobtubes, and use both. I definitely prefer to use, and like the Jyarz quality MUCH better, however the doob tubes are thinner, so there are just some situations they do work better in. I really prefer the glass lining on the Jyarz vs plastic on the doob tubes.

Hey, I just use a standard pill container, and it works perfectly!

The style I have are waterproof. I don't take "medications" so I just get them from friends and family with labels removed.

Are you sure you can actually load that much? I think that about .33g is maximum capacity IIRC...and that's if you really pack it in the oven..

With the grind I use, my Pax takes at least about .4 grams when full. If I use my pusher and load it and pack it in stages, I probably can get .5 in there.

Wow.. That's a lot of herb. Do you find you can get full extraction with that much material packed in or do you need to stir and re- pack mid session?

My personal routine is to hit it until I'm satisfied, then turn it off. When I come back to it, I'll stir it and re-pack it before I heat it back up. I don't have any issue at all with the flavor, it all tastes pretty much the same to me from start to finish, so I don't worry about the multiple re-heatings like a lot of people I've read on here.

Yes, .4-.5g. I pack it hard and most of the time stir it only once. Weighed the "Brick" that comes out of the oven and its normally .4g's, and i have had .5 with super fine grinds.

I have yet to experiment with lightly packed ovens as I get such great performance from my old pax (Still my daily driver) when its packed hard.

EDIT: Normally vape alone (Everyone else is still into combustion). First few sessions on low setting (2-3 sessions, 4-5 draws) and then i stir it before going to medium. Sometimes i just keep it at low.

I don't know where you heard that but you can put it on your list of sources not to trust. Some resin collects on the rim of the Pax 2 at the slit of the flat mouthpiece. This is easily wiped off, and you don't have to do it frequently. I think I've done it twice, and I didn't have to use anything but a Q-tip. No ISO, in other words.

This has actually happened to mine. I tried to clean it with a swab and alcohol but it seems like some didn't come out. It went inside the crack. Since then I've been using the raised mouthpiece as it doesn't leave resin on the plastic.

I just ran a needle around the whole crack between the top and the shell. Although there was nothing visible it did come back with a trace of resin on it, but not enough for me to be concerned about. Clearly resin does get in there, and the amount will depend on your frequency and the material you use. In my judgment, most people will not have an issue. If you do, just dip a toothpick in ISO and run it around the crack occasionally. A swab won't work, you need to get into the crack.

I think it's definitely possible, but it's not likely to ever become a problem, especially if you do the toothpick thing once in a while.

I've noticed buildup in my corners, but I'm a heavy user (4-5 ovens daily) and it still isn't bad. I clean once every 5 days, or every 20 ovens. I see a little bit of buildup, but like you said, that toothpick method works perfectly (I've been using a safety pin, though)

So my clumsy self and friends have already dropped the Pax countless times, each time having a mini heart attack, but also each time the device survived with neigh impenetrability. However, the edges are now jagged which makes for a rather uncomfortable seal when using the flat mouthpiece. Has anyone got suggestions for deburring the unit's edges? I've got a 600 grit waterstone for sharpening knifes, and a deburring tool for copper/aluminum pipes. It is the silver finish, so hopefully this won't alter the colour scheme as would sanding the coloured units would.

it wouldnt suprise me much if we see a titanium version of p2 before we see a p3 considering a that its much harder then aluminum and b it deflects heat better and wouldnt get so hot to the touch as is now but also thinking of the next version there wouldnt be very much room from improvement left on the p2 considering the incredible simplicit and efficeint design so it would make more sense for me if a titanium version came out before a p3 anyways you might want to just contact pax labs and you might be the first to get one if there ever would be one in the makings wink wink

edit: would any one wear a pax vaporizer watch on their wrist? something to think about....

Thank you for this comment, didn't realize how strong they smelled!
I've looked into it and there are 2 safe easy methods to deodorize these caps:
1) Baking Soda + Hot water. Soak caps in mixture (1/4 cup BS to 1qt water) - Let dry. Repeat as necessary
2) Vinegar + Hot water (2:1 ratio). Same process - soak, dry, repeat if necessary.

Once I figure out the best solution, I'm going to deodorize all other caps in my inventory

Edit - looks like hot water + vinegar is working better than Baking Soda. I am soaking them in Hot Vinegar Water for 1 minute, removing them and drying off for 10-20 minutes. Then repeat several more times.

I just bought some caps from your site and wondering if they will have this smell you're mentioning?

Damn, this thing is strong when it comes to vapour production. It just keeps going, however after 30 minutes of vaping from the same bowl, I noticed a burnt taste. I opened up the oven lid and what do you know, the bottom half of the bowl turned into ash...

I normally vape until there's no vapour left, however after this experience, I'm going to stop at around the 15-20 minute mark.
