Does anyone know if interchangeable ovens are in the making?

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're asking whether the Pax 2 will have a cartridge system at some point, I'll bet a lot of money on no.

Back to the oven lid flying off: it occurred to me that I could test how strongly the magnets hold the lid in place by holding the Pax and just snapping my wrist. If you try this with your original Pax, make sure the oven is empty and that you'll be able to spot where the oven lid lands. It doesn't take much to send it flying.

No matter how hard I snap the Pax 2, the lid doesn't budge.

someone at a local headshop was saying that there was going to be a delay in it's release.

I'm not aware of any delays. They may have been referring to PAX 2 going live online on the 2nd but not being available in some retailers until the 4th-6/7th.

by holding the Pax and just snapping my wrist.

This may or may not have been our official test too.

This morning I finally had an opportunity to try the Pax 2 against the original Pax. This was a tough one for me because it involved using each of them long enough to get a feeling for how the taste changes over time. I usually don't do sessions, I just take maintenance hits every half hour or so. I just vapourized what would get me through a couple of days using my normal pattern, and the whole thing took me less than an hour. :ko: Remember, I put myself though this so you don't have to.

I thought that the vapour from the P1 was a little harsher, but that might have been because I'd already had a dozen or so hits on the P2. The flow is definitely a bit more restricted. The taste results confirm that my original opinion was correct, in that the flavour in the P2 does not deteriorate as rapidly as it does in the P1. I really wanted to quantify it somehow, but that's next to impossible. For me, the degradation rate was about twice as fast, but I don't know that would compare to someone else's opinion. I think almost everyone would agree but you lot are weird folk.

Thanks for taking one for the Gipper! Did you find that the lowest temperature produced less "fragrance" than the lowest temp setting of the original Pax? How long did the battery last?

Not a question for you but I would love to know why they changed the colors!! Topaz and Flaming red?? They are beautiful but not discreet. I love that amethyst color....so pretty but discreet (which is why it is so hard to find the original in amethyst). So I ordered black! Black is beautiful too I just wish they hadn't changed the colors but I'm happy about the other improvements.

You're welcome. I think you're asking about odour in use, am I right? To be honest, I didn't notice. I intend to repeat this comparison using a different approach, so I'll try to remember to pay attention to that detail.

I'm still not monitoring battery usage beyond noticing that it seems pretty good. I had it out with me yesterday and I heated it up four times for two or three hits, and then this morning I did the comparison, which took about 15 minutes. I was surprised that the battery level was still four petals when I finished. I know I said earlier that it seemed to go from four petals to three fairly quickly but now I'm doubting myself. I hope to do a proper battery life test but it's a real pain to do (requires paying attention) so I've been avoiding it.

It's a pain to do? Hurt me!!!:goon: lol. I know what you mean though. I tried figuring it out with the Solo but I kept losing track (though I'm very happy with how long that battery lasts and how quickly it charges). Hopefully the Pax 2 doesn't take long to charge. I'm excited about getting it!!

I didn't want to say "odor" because it almost implies unpleasant, like cigarette smoke :zombie:. One thing I have to say about the Solo...on temp 4 I can use it in a public restroom with no one knowing or at least complaining. My friend's Pax produces more odor but what a buzz!!!

Thanks again Pakalolo!!

there is always something like this odor control pouch I found on amazon... doesn't have the size listed, but says you can fit your fist in it LOL what kind of answer was that? :p At $10 I just decided to get it, I'll post if the pax2 fits in there with some herbs :) might be a good odor solution for being in close spaces with sensitive noses.

** decided to dig a little the size is 5” x 4”

Own the orignal pax and love it. I'm intrigued by the pax 2 but I'm wondering, how do you use a WPA with the lip sensor thing? I vape on high for maximum extraction but it can be way too harsh without water filtration.

How long does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Hi, I did the wrist flick with the P1 and the cover came right off.
It needs a diaper :)
Im sure they did a drop test at the factory.
Mine has fallen countless times and still works perfect, except about the oven cover. Anyway I figured out how to keep it on but it's not elegant.
Thanks again.

Good question. The lip sensor will sense your fingers. To activate, simply hold your fingers on the rim (where the lipsensor is) for 2-3 seconds, and then start hitting.

I plan to leave plenty of space for access to the lip sensor with your fingers while my adapter is installed.

It seems to me that if we liked the pax, then we'll like the pax 2 as well. If not, we probably still won't.

I disagree. I'm absolutely certain that lots of people who didn't like the original will love the new Pax 2. A lot of people disliked the original Pax for things that the Pax 2 fixes. For example, it's gone from a high maintenance device to low maintenance. Many people felt the original was a herb hog with rapidly deteriorating flavour. My experience is that both of these problems have been remedied. I easily get 12-15 10-second hits on the Pax 2 and the taste is still pretty good.

Actually, while I wasn't interested in the Pax1, I may jump on the Pax2 train once the price comes down a bit
I am also wondering why it's more expensive than v1. It has less moving parts and seemingly less parts in general, so it seems to me that it should be cheaper to make. But it's priced higher :uhh:

I wonder though if you turn off the P1 in between hits would you have the same flavor profile in the P1 as well as the P2?
Its just the way I always used it anyway. It seemed natural to turn it off after a hit or two also to cool the oven down.
Im sure the new algorithim in the P1 would optomize the heat cycle. I'm just wondering if besides that, if used without that feature if they would both maintain the same taste profile?
Otherwise what could be that different?
Thanks again for your reviews.

I never had any interest in the Pax 1, due to the two reasons Pak mentioned (weed hog, mouthpiece issues). While I'm not a huge fan of conduction vapes, I'm optimistic the cool-down feature will mitigate much of my issue with conduction. Pak's review has alleviated any qualms I had about mouthpiece problems and general maintenance. And I love the form factor....I've always admired the size and shape of the Pax. The new smaller size and flat mouthpiece only make it more attractive.

I would have never purchased a Pax 1. I've already preordered the 2. I'm as surprised as anyone.

I always liked the flavor of my Pax1.
I am not certain about the idea of temperature going down during session, no matter how fast it comes back. I like a session to be a session and "cook" all the way and full time.
There has to be a reason for this new technology.
I will learn the reason soon enough.
Pax2 should be here on the Vapor Trail before too long!
I am very fond of Pax 1, since I have tried a better functioning un it, and am
excited to try this one.

I had the same reservations about the Pax 1, didn't want to have to clean it after every few sessions and found other vapes to be way more conservative with bud/taste better. I pre-ordered the Pax 2 because everything I've read seems to fix all of that and IMO it has far and away the best design out of any vape I've seen/used. I love my Crafty but I absolutely loathe the design and if the Pax 2 hits anywhere near as hard as the Crafty, I'll be using the Pax 2 80% of the time.

I haven't tried this, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't. The metal part of the P1 oven lid retains heat and cools down much more slowly than the P2's PPS oven lid. I've mentioned before that you can handle the P2 oven lid immediately even if you've been using the highest temperature. I'm convinced that this change is a major factor in the improvement in flavour. It will not continue roasting like the original lid did, and it also makes it easier to control the temperature in the oven.
