Hey FC fam,

Dan from ModPod Labs here. I want to start out saying how much I appreciate everyone's support helping us prefund and launch StemPod, we couldn't have done it without you. Since we started selling, we have set out a plan for multiple products and accessories that we can address and develop as we scale the business. The first of these will be what we are calling StemPod Si.

So what is the StemPod Si?

StemPod Si is a budget version of the StemPod, made with high grade stainless steel and high temp medical grade silicone (hence the Si suffix, pronounced "ess eye"). This take on the StemPod architecture makes it easier for us to produce at a low MSRP, and will serve to bring the full rebuildable, on-demand convection experience to those on a tight budget

How much will the StemPod Si cost?

We are currently aiming for an MSRP of $60 for the StemPod Si, though this is possible to change. We will also be offering a bundle with a Sinuous p80 and an 18650 battery for $99.

What is the difference between the StemPod and the Si?

The current StemPod has an all metal airpath and all glass vapor path, whereas the Si has a metal and silicone airpath, and an all glass vapor path. There is hardly any difference in performance, battery life, or operation, though flavor chasers may find the Si to have a more muted flavor profile compared to the OG StemPod. The other difference is the Si is disassembled differently than the regular StemPod, with the most notable change being that 19mm screens are held in place in the metal body and secured with the silicone sleeve rather than screws.

Are the StemPod and Si compatible with the same accessories?

The StemPod Si and Original will work with the same build decks, coils, and Stems. the Si does not have an O ring in the taper so some dosing capsule methods may not work. Any accessories we design for the standard StemPod should work with the Si as well

If this seems like something you are interested in, you can support the development by preordering either the StemPod Si, or the Si Sinuous bundle below, both for a discounted rate. Thanks everyone!

Stempod is not that expensive in the first place. I have never had a vape with silicone in it, but i think i would rather pay the extra bucks and have one without the big Si.

Stempod original is a fantastic vape. What i am really looking forward to is modpod! How that going?

Carry weight will be reduced wont it? How much distance does the air pass the silicone in the airpath? With right silicone, flavor shouldn't be changed too much and won't cause a health hazard.

The post says "Silicon" not "Silicone", there's a huge difference.

Now... how shall we call this now!? Near homophone clusterfuck?

I mean, should become clear when looking at the 'Si', but judging from the first reactions to this thread, I'd rather urgently rethink the naming and presentation :p

Sorry pal, you lost me right after that sentence...

Oh heck! I've confused silicon and cone frequently. :/

Apologies, we are using silicone, not silicon. This product is aimed more at the larger market of box mod owners curious about herb vaping but not willing to drop $100+ for an attachment. I know this device may not be a good fit for most on this forum

We finally have a suitable prototype for this that I would like to send out on a beta tour of 3 or so people for a week each. If you're interested PM me your address and why you should be chosen. It would be great if each beta tester would be open to posting pictures and videos here, on Instagram, and on Reddit.

Happy to be part of the team, very much looking forward to testing the Si out. I currently have an Imp, Us splinter, V1 Splinter, and splinter z for 510 herb attachments. I have Evic mini, evic dual, smok, and vapespresso mods, as well as another coming, some kind of TCR tube mod on the way. I will do my very best to keep you all posted as to my findings.

I really want to pull the trigger on this, but I'm concerned about the knock on flavor. Can anyone speak to the difference between the original SP and the Si yet?

Dan was using the beta unit on his ig live today so he's still the only one who can tell you at this point. I promise as soon as it's my turn with the unit everyone will know lol
