Hi,

I'm fairly new with the Mi2, so new that it's on it's way still.

I was wondering if anyone ha tried to use the VapeXhale herb baskets on the Mi2 stem:
- Do they fit?
- Do they allow you to use without a need to steer?
- Does it prevent debris fro getting into the chamber?

I find that they are just less effective, it keeps the load way further from the heater and puts that extra screen and metal in between to steal some of the heat away as well... I even tried using it in bubbler without lid for big bowl in my SplinterZ, the load compacts too much and is just too far away from the heater so I really wouldn't recommend it personally. In fact I believe it makes you need to stir even more, you can get away without stirring using the basket screens easier... For debris, just take the first hit upside down. Then the load is pretty secure until you poke it, depending on how you load of course. Once you have it you will be able to test all the various stem/screen options for yourself!

It wasn't until after I stopped messing around with rimmed screens that I came to love my Mi's like I do now. They were convenient but they didn't work for me because of the shape of the screen below the rim. They sort of shot straight down and weren't broad enough to grab the sides of the stem. Once the material shrunk up, the hot air could pass right by, adversely affecting vapor production. I'd have to put more material in the stem than I wanted to just to try to force the air where I wanted it to go. Without the rimmed screens everything stays close to the heater for great performance.

It's probably worth mentioning that the screen should be properly maintained. If they get over used they tend to get floppy and lose shape and not stay well put in the stem. They should be clean and fit snug into the stem.

This is a cry for help.......MI2 took a header and pooped out its battery. Now looking into the chasm, I believe that the bottom spring is easily knocked out of tolerance from such a stunt. If memory serves, I can reach into the battery compartment and GENTLY pry the spring clip back into place. Can any one confirm this is the path to functionality? I remember before the fall, my battery had a bit of bouncy in its mount. This would be normal state, as the bottom spring clip pushes the cell back against the top copper retainer. Any thoughts, besides "Don't drop your MI2 and you won't have this problem." I did not believe it necessary to contact RBT and support. Hoping to handle this issue in house, literally.

You are correct on both counts. I had exactly the same experience with my first Milaana. I pulled it back into working order using the loop on the end of one of the brushes that came with one of my vapourizers. The contact clip at the bottom is well attached and is pretty robust so you can be confident that you won't break it. Just gradually increase your pulling force until it feels like it's rising, then check with the battery until it protrudes about a millimeter or so.

If you don't have a handy 'thing with hook or loop' to pull the battery tab back into position, consider using a loop of dental floss through a Bic pen tube (or any similar tube) to make a lasso that can be tightened round the errant tab (dog catcher style) to wrangle it back into compliance.

I'm a complete noob, so please bear with me, but from what I read before and of these should do:

The LG HG2 will give you longer battery life, as would a Samsung 30Q (3000mAh)

Now a final question: I need the ones without the nipple, right?

Those are the HG2 and 30Q batteries that you're referencing...both of which are flat top which is what you need. These are the two that I personally use too.

This said, there are counterfeit batteries so choosing the right supplier is just as important. I'm stateside so unfortunately can't be of much help to you unless you're willing to get it shipped internationally.

I would suggest also getting a decent charger (at least two bays). What you're looking for is some sort of protection against over charging which most decent chargers will have. Get at least two batteries as well and more if this will be your daily driver.

No you need a special Li-Ion charger, those for AA/AAA cells won't do.

Nkon is a reputable source in Europe, it's safe buying from their store. There's also Akkuteile in Germany.

It's kind of late to be posting this, but Ryan (buddharastatoa) has an IG stream up only for the next 3 hours. The Milaana is simple since you just press a button. For an experienced user, it doesn't take long to develop a feel for how long to wait before drawing and when to stop drawing. The wait time varies, increasing as you use up the battery. The draw length and strength also vary as battery depletes. This might put some users off because they want a consistent repeatable expereience. I don't mind it at all. Using it quickly became second nature to me. I liken it to playing an instrument: you have to learn how to play it but once you do, you can make it do just what you want.

The Splinter is complicated. Which Splinter? What box mod? Wattage mode or TCR? What settings? Consider that some people have given up on the Splinter because getting all of this straight was too much. Once you sort all these out, however, you can get that consistent repeatable experience.

I get excellent vapour from all models of both Milaana and Splinter that I've used, including beta devices. My walnut Milaana is still my all-time favourite vapourizer. I do use Splinters a lot, mostly in Wattage mode, because I can see the state of the battery. My favourite is the Chinese Splinter V2.

yeah, i love the harmonica feel of `the milaana. make it sing!

I have been using my v1z mostly, but recently going between mi2 and wenge z.

My Mi1.5 is noticeably cooler. or seems to be, i dont think I could combust with it if i wanted to. I wish I could try another 1.5 to compare...

that said, I think a basic wattage capable mod, (sinuous p80 ppl like) and a regular splinter is easy as pie.

Its converted three different people who otherwise just cant get onboard w vaping. All three have a much easier go of it than with the Milaana... just my experience
