@Brenyo I have a ask for Reload Gen 2, that if it is not too late for design changes that the decapper slot height be increased so to work with the new Armored Cap, maybe you can do 1 side the AC and the other regular cap. Don’t know if increased height of the slot would affect the use of the regular cap, but regular cap use needs to be kept somehow. The increased clicker thickness does allow the AC fit into the decapper slot on the present Reload, which is shame, I use the Reload to decap my FMJ no problem even with the strong pull. Please.

Desktop Reload decapper and desktop Reload debowler, Armored Revolves. One hand operation in decapping and debowling for me is essential.

I’m still waiting for local stock so I couldn’t measure one yet.
So the lip is a little taller and wider on the bottom, but the groove‘s (where the rails slide into) smaller diameter is the same as before? - around 10mm
If it’s only the height that has to be adjustable that could be sorted easily.

My caliper’s battery is dead so just rough estimates.
AC indent 11.2mm DV 10.1mm
AC width 12.1mm DV 10.6mm

The clicker part is thicker in height by maybe 10-20% my guess

Maybe the difference in fit is more than I thought, but know it can done and you’re the guy that can do it, I’m amazed at the intricacies of the Revolve so this should be easy-peesy.

Apologies if this is a dumb question but is the Black DLC coating on the revolve only on the outside or throughout the device?

Does anyone know what kind of thermal limits the Black DLC coating would have? I just found out about the Revolve & I love how slick the black looks but I'm not sure if it would be safe over the long term to be inhaling vapor that's exposed to a coating that will be getting heated up frequently & I worry it may degrade or chip over time, causing you to inadvertently inhale particles from the coating.

Would the polished titanium be a safer option than the black?

How tough is dlc? I guess I'm pretty old. Both of my bongs are 18mm. I guess that is the bastard red headed stepchild size because I couldn't hunt down a glass adapter that was 10mm female to 18mm male that didn't have that frost that scratches up titanium.

I'm actually okay with the scratches. The only thing is I figure it would be silly to scratch up my black mouthpiece if I don't have to. Kinda silly of me to worry especially considering it's a factory second (of which I still haven't found the flaw). The thing is, would the dlc be scratch resistant?

It’s throughout the device. The DLC coating is heat resistant up to around 300C. It’s near impossible to damage the coating on the stem by heat, but it’s possible on the cap because it’s so slim.

If it’s not chipped straight away after a thorough iso bath and wipe then it won’t wear off or start chipping later. There were no issues so far with the gen 2’s.

It’s fairly easy to scratch it with very sharp things on purpose but in general it has a very good scratch resistance.
If you feel safer with the non-coated then it’s best to go for that one, but the coating will be fine 🙂

Here are my rainbow versions.
G2 is beautiful. 'liquid' is spot on.
Really like the modifications.
I haven't used any other stems since it's arrival.

Hi - is the colour on the caps still fine after some use? I'm waiting for my gen2 and considering a gold fmj if the heat will affect it.

It's does discolour slightly after use. But not excessively (that's using induction only).

Good to know, I sold my IH.. Then I probably should get fmj to protect it. It might get discoloured still but probably better than direct heating :hmm:

Does Mad Heaters sell Rainbow (PVD) TI tips or are they just out of stock? I prefer ordering everything in one go.

@Brenyo I know you probably get sick of this question but I don’t see a recent update on the Sense. Can we get one? Thanks.

And will it be 12mm+ to accommodate an armored cap?

I'm just finishing the design of an 8mm connection vape to go with the Revolve which has to be fully compatible with the IH.
Once that's released (hopefully sometime later this year) I'll start working on the heater again. We have a PCB ready to be adjusted to a new design - now I need to figure out a good enclosure and FW supporting all the compatible TEDs along with the Armored Cap.

They should be available around the end of the year. Only SS for now.

Thanks @Brenyo, this was very helpful! I ended up purchasing a factory second black revolve & I'm excited for it to get delivered!

Howzit everyone. Just wanted to share this wooden doob tube I bought off etsy (on sale now, $20 shipped).
The tube was a couple mm short of closing completely, so I took a dremel, used the wrong bit, and fucked it up a little, but it closes completely now, and no one will see the damage done. I also used a spring from my Futostash so the Revolve pops up when opened. Doob tube can fit an AC as well as a Fmj.

There's a tiny hole on the bottom covered with glue. Not sure if its on every tube or just mine. Glue still makes the tube airtight.

Took about 2 weeks from Germany to US.

At least 5 times I've thought of putting my condenser in the freezer for an hour or two, but every time I have had that "eureka" moment I've been too stoned to remember to do it. My black setup is all clean, but I don't want to risk damaging the coating. My titanium one has been rode hard all day. I plan on cleaning it in the morning, and rotating it with my black one. Anywho, if after I cleaned it, I then put it in the freezer for 24 hours, could any damage come to it? Should I limit it to a couple hours?

If someone already tried this please let me know if I'm wasting my time. I really want to try this with the drc and direct flow tubes. I'll definitely use glass stems. Maybe throw them in the fridge overnight?

God I hope I finally remember to do it.

...what do you expect by cooling the condenser? I'm not sure if I understand the intention... Do you expect cooler vapor?
If yes, I think this would only work for one heating cycle, since the temperature transfer in the revolve works so well.
Other than that, I think (but I'm Not Sure, it's only theoretical) cooling the condenser leads to faster build up of reclaim inside it. The purpose of a condenser (at least in a distillation process) is to maintain a temperature drop to help the vaporised oils (or other stuff) to transform back to their liquid state (and then even solidify further) = condensation 😉

But, as i Said, maybe I totally missed your point.

And, I am no material specialist either, but I don't think cooling down your revolve would damage the coating.

Just pulled the trigger on the new revolve stem to replace my simrell vortex! Looking forward to taking it for a test drive!
I for one, will be looking forward to your direct comparison. I have not purchased any simrell products, but I am a huge fan of the revolve. And I will be interested to see how they compare in performance. I would expect them to be similar, but that the revolve would be better. Especially the Revolve Gen2.
