Discontinued Lil' Bud by Vapwood

Just another traveller in the Cannaverse
Been dealing with some back pain lately. It's actually been going on all my adult life, pretty much the same symptoms, different levels. Lately it flared up bad, with stiffness in both hips as a result. Long story short, I don't like taking pain killers, but been leaning on Lil' Bud lately. I vape on and off most of the day, but sometimes I'm just too busy. Today started out feeling really good, but the stiffness kicked in about midday. Hadn't really vaped much. I'm just sitting down now, I hope the ache will subside with some monster hits. I made an appointment to get back to physical therapy on Wednesday. Damn, I was feeling so good, this kinda caught me by surprise. I know stress is playing a major role in this, but it's how you handle the stress that matters, as we all have our own stressors.

Thank God for LB... no stress.

Hey man. I feel you. As they say down south, "I've been down in my back" for the past couple of weeks. And I also deal with stress related anxiety. It sucks for sure.

Today I got some CBD flower from Tweedle Farms, a strain called Lifter, and man oh man. I started the day with a stem of that and I was very impressed. I've had CBD in edible and concentrate form, but there's something about getting the full entourage effect from the lovely vapor produced by the LB that works better for me.

It was tasty. Really tasty. They do a great job of manicuring the flower. It did a great job with my anxiety and allowed me to focus and get a lot done as I near completion on the new album. And I was really surprised how much it helped with the back pain and neck pain that have been pretty chronic since '13.

And later this afternoon I mixed some of the Lifter in with a bit of Black Widow and Green Monster and I got an even bigger dose of pain relief and a really wonderful buzz. But still able to get a lot of work done.

I can definitely see incorporating more CBD flower into my daily vaping. It'll help make my weed last longer, and it's not too expensive. You can get really gorgeous flowers for $45 a quarter ounce, or $100 for a full ounce, and today they had a special on shake for $20 an ounce.

I love that we are finally starting to live in sane times as it relates to cannabis and hemp.

@beyond6strings I have a medical card here in NY, and I can get high CBD strains of oils in preloaded carts, no flower. Supposedly 2019 is going to be a big year for the NY cannabis market and legal flower is on its way. Problem here is the market is so big, greed seems to get in the way and pricing is ridiculous, and almost all the same. It's super convenient, but just too expensive. If I had any heavy CBD strains, however, I'd been trying it right now.

The price will drop when: supply & demand equal out the price!

The greed of humans will make a glut!

Hey Mike,
I have very similar sounding back issues. They usually show up during times of stress and I realized it is usually because I am not staying hydrated enough. I drink a shit ton of water over the course of a few days and the pain in the spine that tenses up the muscles goes away. It’s only water so it’s worth a shot.

Hope it helps. Tip came from a chiropractor.

It's funny, things you know, and somehow don't follow. Thank you.

Just to mention, I had to upgrade my drill press with a new vice for the purposes of building the Elite cover plate, it'll arrive in a couple of days. In the meantime, I need to crank out a couple of Classics. Anyone who orders a Classic Cherry or a few select Blends, will have their orders fulfilled within a couple of weeks.

I'm about to assemble some Lil' Buds... I have over 20 Classic Cherry and Blend bodies / switch boxes in pre pre-assembly. I need to move these guys, and get ready for the New Year. I also have very low stock on tubes and batteries, so it's time to sell some bare bones.

No tube, no batteries, just Lil' Bud is on sale, coupon code: INSTOCK will save you 15% on all bare bones units!!!

Okay, it's not a CNC machine, but it's what I need. An X / Y axis drill press vice. This will help with both the Elite and Classic.

I found a new hobby , hand waxing and buffing my Lil' Buds! No tools , no accessories, only beeswax!

-I start by vaping a few hits from the lil bud to be waxed,
-I then scrape my wax stick on Lil' Bud
-smear the wax in the wood with my thumbs
-(lil Bud feels sticky ) rub off excess wax on your pants or shirt in a circular motion . (Your clothes will wash & Lil Bud doesn't feel sticky anymore and looks fuckin beautiful!)

Congratulations! you got acquainted even deeper with your LB! the wood grains and pattern jumps to your face and becomes almost new-to-you again!

These photos above and below are my original LB and my latest respectively. Both had not been waxed since receiving them . I waxed them last week and again tonight . Loving the result ! I'm so proud to own these fabulous handcrafted vapes.

I haven't waxed Walleye yet , (my 2nd of 3 LB's) I might do a video showing the process for those interested.

Vape on !

Is it safe to assume that the most important part of the process is step 1? Can we repeat step 1 before proceeding?

@P.A.M. it will be better to warm the unit also from the outside with a hairdryer to let the wood grain open up a little. So the wax can go deep into the wood.

I use a mix of 1/4 of natural beewax (with some debris of honey, mmm) and when it is melt at low temp I add 3/4 of natural coconut oil and stir the resulting cream.
Last time I used 20gr of beewax & 60gr of coco oil. It can be used to protect your lips in the wintertime and your cutting kitchen table too, 'cuz it's totally natural.
I must let the unit rest for absortion, but normally I use it just after waxing, with some tasty aroma that evaporates in a day or so.

In other plan: I improved my vaping tecnique thanx to your videos, we want more!!

Oh I'm aware there's a "better" way of doing it . But Who says my LB isn't warm on the outside too once I'm done Step 1  Its just a lazy man's way of buffing it quickly and almost effortlessly while enjoying a session with Lil' Bud. The results are suprising and satisfying.

That's a neat multipurpose mixture you got there, thanks for sharing .

Thank you for the kind words and for tuning in! happy the videos were helpful to you . you just earned a special mention in the next video! Hopefully I'll get your user name prononciation right :freak:

It's time for a *building weekend*! I'm off and will be in the shop today, tomorrow, and Monday. I have a few Classics to finalize, and some Elite cover plates to build. My new x / y axis vice will help dramatically with that. Should be quite the productive weekend.

A few have taken advantage of the bare bones sale. With the sale price of 15% off, a cherry bare bones unit (normally $169) can be had for less than $150. Sale ends in a couple of days and this price probably won't be back any time soon. code: INSTOCK

I am trying to design the perfect router jig / template for Lil' Bud, to take care of ALL the tasks I need routed. Right now, I've got 3 separate set ups, all work well, but I can do better. This morning I'll be researching just that.

I like using the beeswax bars with the heat gun. I found it's important to initially really saturate with heat and wax to get the wood pores to open and get really good penetration. This will help later down the line, keeping the wood protected from any moisture it might encounter.

Good morning boys and girls...
Got to play with the new vice. It needs to be fine tuned for our purposes. I need to create shims / spacers to really speed up the process. The accuracy of the x and y axis is beyond sufficient, as I won't be using it *dynamically*, but in conjunction with scribing each unit, not relying on turns of the dial for precision.

I hate how lazy I can get. Performance suffers when screens clog. And not sure if anyone else experiences this, but once it gums up a bit, even after I bring it back to *pretty clean*, it'll clog up faster from then on. I'm actually low on screens, so I'be been conserving, and I'm not a huge fan of a brand new screen. This is another Mama bear situation - as there is nothing like a screen that's broken in for a day or two, just right.

What's up guys? Productive day here. I got 3 units built to finish, one repaired. This was the first *new switch* repair. Everything looked good when I took apart, I rebuilt the unit with another switch and terminals. It works well now, but I haven't really identified the exact problem, other than it's probably the switch - hrumph. I saved the switch, and I will install in a test unit to see if it works. Extra work, inquiring minds wanna know.

First switch issue in over 50 units. First issue in over 50 units, as compared to a basic crap shoot with the 2 amp switch. When you think about the current state of the Classic build, not really much can go wrong. It is basically a battery feeding a coil with a switch. As long as workmanship is good, expect no surprises.

Tomorrow I need to put together some battery gauges, then it's almost time to ship a few units. I'll then turn my attention to the Elite for the rest of the week. Good progress being made with understanding how to get the most out of my x / y axis vice.

@Bravesst Hey Mike, received my cooling tube today. I think maybe you forgot the glass insert. The package had the extra screens and hemp fibre but no glass inserts unfortunately. Lol will have to wait a bit longer to try. Luckily I have 4 of Allens long glass lined tubes in the meantime.
Sometimes I think when I leave the shop, a piece of brain stays there. I apologize. I'm going to the post office this week, and will be sure to send you another insert. Having some Alan back ups is always the way to go.

Today's Deal of the Day just sold. It's a beauty. Not a bad way to pass along good deals. Someone got a top of the LB for a great price. Look for more Deals of the Day, as I have quite a few *half built* cherry and blended units. I've also go one crazy looking Walnut unit I may put together soon.

Spent more time on cover plates today, and mastering the drill press x/y vice. Getting the hang of it, results getting more consistent with it. I see the vice as a great aid in many of the finer tasks such as drilling for magnet holes, switch holes, and possibly building battery testers. In the end, it was the right purchase for Lil' Bud building.

When people ask me about Lil' Bud heat up time, I always get taken back for a second because I take it for granted. This is an on demand vape, and that means it's ready when you demand it to be - now. It does take a few seconds to pull the pure ball of heat through the roasting tube, but in the tests I've done the coils glows a soft red in about 2 or 3 seconds of button depression, and there is not much to steal that heat from the coil chamber. I've engaged the switch for over 30 seconds with no ill effects (don't try this at home). The foil lining really helps to radiate the heat back into the unit so there is little heat leakage, LB stays relatively cool.
