Discontinued Hopper io

I'm thinking that, regardless of priority for sending the ones from this batch out the door, a substantial number of them will be held in reserve by HL until such time as the next batch is secured. They need ensure that they can keep selling io's.

Most here honestly believe that they should put future IO owners and new IO owners before existing customers? The consensus is actually that those that already paid for their batteries, and have paperweight hoppers, and have spent hundreds to thousands of dollars, should be left with a non-functional device so that NEW owners can get up and running and so that HL can collect more money for items being sold that have already been sold but not delivered to existing customers???

I'm sorry, but I can't bring myself around to this being ok; like I said, personally I am fine, and if HL asked me, I would indicate I am fine to wait for the next batch, but for any that are not, they deserve their batteries prior to new IO owners.

I'm not saying calling them out on poor behaviour will result in a change, but they should at least be held to account and not defended for unethical practices. Anyways ... I'll stop commenting in here ... I've said my 2 cents.

I agree they should be held accountable @JCat, when we have something to hold them accountable for. My point is that until we know hard numbers this is all speculation. They could conceivably replace all recalled batteries, let’s say 650, while supplying each new Hopper io owner with one battery, 250, and then they would still have 100 batteries left to sell new devices. Even 50 batteries in reserve would mean more than $13,000 in profit (50 devices x $265-295). Are there more than 700 batteries that need replaced? Who knows.

Months ago they offered to ship anyone in need of a battery a replacement GHB2 in the meantime in addition to the eventual GHB3 replacement.

The batteries are now listed with an expected ship date of June which is actually plausible if the next batch is almost finished. Anyone purchasing a device will apparently be limited to one battery until the next shipment comes in. That’s good news for the people waiting on replacements, hopefully everyone is taken care of and this is much ado about nothing. :peace:

TGIF. Not only is it payday for me today, but I get paid 3 times this month. My financial situation during the pandemic has actually been quite positive (since I’m barely spending money except on flower, lol). So I’m thinking, still, about buying an IO but the battery availability and HL’s general modus operandi still scare me a bit. Coupled with the fact I’m still waiting on replacement batteries that my OG Hopper could use (I do have a few but the oldest ones are close to shot; the newer ones were received just before the fire and I’m using a couple with great vigilance - no issues but they’re starting to show their age too due to heavy rotation, and usage I guess :)).

Not that I need a new vape but rather want one given the fact I could buy anything I want now (for a change). The IO is at the top of my list since I love my Hopper so much. Such a dilemma however I think I’ll practice patience and see how the IO rollout goes and when the replacement batch of batteries arrives (to me, not HL). Then I’ll make a decision. Or choose not to decide (and I’ll still have made a choice )...:peace:

Dude where’s my hopper?

I got a 2020 M to tide me over - no custom batteries required and almost hits as nice as a hopper :D

sep 2018 I have been waiting to get my hopper back from RMA.....

still waiting.....

is that a Milana? I’m curious. My Tinymight has supplanted the Hopper as my number one but I still love my Hopper. Very different but they’re both on demand which is how I mostly use vapes these days. And yes, the Hopper batts have been a thorn in my side since day one almost 4 years ago for various reasons. :peace:

I haven’t tried the tinymight.... yet, but I sure would like one!

the Dynavap 2020 M, I had an older model but lent it to a mate who wanted to try vaping.
I wanted one for the dynacoil I have anyway so at least I have something to look forward to.

really miss the hopper though, it is a killer device when working, the IO sounds promising so I opted to switch my RMA for a new IO - apparently my hopper was destroyed....

I did ask on the old hopper website to switch from blue to bare if it gets my order filled quicker but no response yet.

I’m sure it’s as painful for HL as it is for its customeR base.

I keep checking here for the day that they tell us all our orders are shipped!

Hopper labs is currently testing the batteries that will ship out in the io, I’m sure they will let us all know when that is going to happen. If you’re super antsy, I know they have offered to ship the device without a battery or with an older generation battery, but this presumes you have a stock of old hopper batteries that will work or that you don’t mind using an older gen battery. I think if we are patient just a bit longer we will be rewarded with the io and the new ghb3 battery that should power the device how it is meant to be powered. Hopefully any day now.

Hey folks! :) I haven't heard anything about the hopper io I ordered on April 29th and I'm just wondering when it will ship?

Has anyone else here had a problem with their hopper io orders placed in april?
Welcome.
They've been waiting for a battery shipment for months and now have some, so io's should start shipping "soon". Seems you have not been perusing the pages here...

Thanks for the reply! I have sent them a message saying I don't need a battery but still waiting

Sorry I had a quick look through the thread but there's so many pages of reading I didn't get through it all

let us know if they actually ship it and you get it early. I asked them twice to send it early and they confirmed both times they would ship it. I have received nada, gave up and decided to wait lol.
