In my experience, fluffy (SCS grinder here) lightly tamped, full pods is the way to go. If you wanna try smaller pods, try using one of the rimmed RBT screens (I know you have some of those) upside-down inside a regular pod. It works wonders and the ABV is amazingly even, best one I got from this unit. Only draw back is you need to reload more often, but it's not a problem for me and when you know is gonna be a long day you can just do a couple big pods.
IMO this unit takes a bit of technique. As other people stated, apart from the grind/packing, the draw is really important. I like to take a first slow draw to warm it up, then next ones I start slow and hard and after a couple seconds start speeding up. As soon as I feel the vapor I let go the button and finish the draw.
This way I'm pretty happy with how it was working. Should have her back soon and will be able to upload some photos
About updates, I totally understand the guys behind the USB idea. Drivers can be a bitch, this will always work. I got a usb for 5£, not a big deal to be able to auto update my unit anytime I need and you can go even cheaper with just an adapter.
PS: Hope they have fixed the random "first draw of dead" aka "FDOD" with this firmware. Always remember to not hit or double check through the window on first hit after turning on. You will see that sometimes (it only happens on first draw after turning on tho) it will glow super red and for longer, don't draw there. Let it go and push again and will be fine until it turns off.

So I pack that rimmed basket then put it upside down in the pod?
Typically I watch it happen on the first heatup, keep holding the button and within like 2 seconds the light dies down to its normal level. I don't always have to let go and reheat.
Sometimes it'll take like 6 seconds to heat up, and on these draws I typically get good vapor. Then the next hit it'll go green very fast, in like 2 seconds (or sometimes nearly instantly), and the vapor is significantly less. I feel like the heater just isn't consistent. I have the temp up to about 450 and can't get the herb past a very light brown.

Needed to send my square in for a little tlc. Mailed it on Wednesday and asked if I could stop in to pick it up personally, back in my hands today. Their home base is like the apple store for vapes and I wish I had more time to kick it there. I got a brief overview of how to work it better and they said they were just about to release a bunch of videos that would go more in depth. Understanding how the coil works was huge and my first pod home was super duper. Fuckin A+ customer service.

Videos are going to be unreal. I think it would definitely help. Since it’s a new vape that is now starting to gain momentum.
I’m still happy That I was apart of the pre order. Some moments it was straight hate but in the end of it all very happy. I’m always tweaking my draw depending on my bud. Right now I like a real hard and quick pull for 1-2 seconds to get the air going and then slow it down a lot for the last 10 seconds and boy I was blowing a shit ton of vapour. It almost left me out of breath on the amount I exhaled. I don’t hold hits it. I don’t like to.
Hoping for that crazy thunderstorm tonight. Finis a bowl of GSC and drink some Dr Pepper on the porch.

I keep having anxiety attacks trying to put this fucker back together... ive been waiting on this for medical reasons and i can’t seem to put it back together. When i secure the tray back to inside of lid (step 5 on QuickStart) it doesn’t do it evenly and I️ can’t get the square to close when placing lid onto the square and turning the lid lock

Do you have a loading tool? There are a few videos on YouTube from Haze that shows exactly how to do it. Probably easier to follow than explaining on the board.
Just place your screens and lids in. Then the top piece of the tray push down very hard. Silicone should go right in. Flip over and push the silicone in along the edges to make sure it’s all flush.
I actually did figure out what was wrong, it was just me being silly. But, i am not getting any vapor from it on max default settings.. i feel effects from it i believe but not receiving vapor is worrying me. Do you know if others have had this issue?

Try packing it differently. Full pack. Very light tamp. Try changing up your draw technique. Pull real hard and slow to get that air moving over the weed. I know my first week with it was a hit or miss. It has to do with your draw. Need to give the hot air enough time to heat soak the bowl and to provide vapor.

So just upgraded the firmware. $25 from best buy for a USB and a converter. USB will go to use later on eventually I assume, converter pretty much useless other than for upgrading Haze. I got a Belkin USB-C to USB-A Adapter (USB A Female, USB C Male). Downloaded my firmware to the SunDisk drive I purchased for like $11, attached the drive to the adapter and the adapter to the Haze. Followed instructions and it took about 5 seconds to upgrade.
First thing I tried to do was plug my Haze to the wall charger which basically never works, and it worked first try. Hopefully that continues, as that's absolutely fucking huge it just fixed that for me. Anyone else having that charge issue, hopefully this will fix it.
Time to test performance.

Is the gap between the lid and the heater supposed to be greater on the side of the heater? The side opposite of the heater is almost completely sealed, and on the heater side the 2 pieces create a gap. Is this normal? It seemed when I held my closed my hand on the 2 pieces closing the gap I got thicker vapor. Am I crazy?
Edit 2: Some hits still really big, most are still small. I won't change anything between 2 hits but clearly one feels more full bodied going in and is clearly 3-5x larger exhale.
Edit 3: Charger didn't work properly again.
Edit 4: Working now...maybe it doesn't like to be charged when the unit is hot?

Not sure which screw that is, I don't have the tool tho to even check.
I also just watched @paytonpenn video. Everything on his unit seems just easier to do. The lock looks much easier to turn, mine nearly breaks my fingers every time I try (maybe gets easier over time). Also when he rotates the Square, it locks into place. Mine rotates and then kinda shimmys back and forth if i put pressure on either side, it does not feel secure in place.
When it hits well though I love it!

I notice with different draw power there is a difference, but the amount I’ve gotten in general my friend was not even visibly able to see. Was it this low of vapor production at first for you, or was it hit or miss like you said and when it hit you got at least some semi thick vapor?
@AJS does sound like u have loose latch. When u take lid off, in the middle between all the pods, you'll see a little rectangular tab with an allen head bolt in the middle, you got to make sure that's tight. That's why it doesn't snap into place and will probably make a better seal.
Also it won't charge if too hot.
Also if you have phase 3 the lid or latch only turns one way?

I did a few experiments using the concentrate pad as a spacer the silicone lid for dry herb... Worked no problem, but best darkest avb stick to Full pack w.tap

With that tip, and after pressing all the silicone down (I felt a little give as it pressed down further) im now getting much much more consistent results. Some hits feel slightly off compared to others but every single hit gave me vapor, and when I tried I got some real real nice clouds.
I waited 5 minutes for vape to cool down and it was still pretty warm. Charger didn't work. Waited 5-10 minutes longer with vape sitting on granite so it was nearly coldish when I picked it up and it charged first try.
I'll get a Haze video for you guys within an hour or so most likely. Gunna charge her up and chill for a bit.

I've been vaping cbd flower all day and haven't once actually wanted to get stoned. This stuff is amazing. Clear head, but still feel like you get your herb fix. Can still do my job perfectly and vape as much as I want and still get the benefits of stress relief and relaxation.

All those hits were super huge. A lot of vapor production for sure. At 410F I would be getting those clouds. I should set mine higher.
I know from my session last night that my bowl was almost done after 2 days. Could totally tell because the taste was awful and the visible vapor was trailing off. Which is to be expected. The further along the bowl you go less vapor. I always stir to get the last bit out but the visible vapor isn’t as big as the begginjng of the session.
