Glass Vapes From The Rogue Wax Works

it arrived and at first I was not impressed as it takes time to get the hang of these things. After more testing and heating the cap at the bottom for more time I got amazing results.

I use the thickest cap and I do not use a water piece I just use it with the parts that came native so the pathway is short and this is how I like it. I do a very slow draw just like with the DF2 and from a tiny bowl of 0.1g you get a few big hits. Will try it with the j hook later but i prefer this small air path just it could be dangerous if the cap fell of onto my face and I was permanently disfigured and stopped vaping weed and started vaping the dragon, that would be very unfortunate so the j hook will need to be used I feel.

I only use the Dani Fusion 2 now but I can see me switching to this if I can keep getting consistent results like I have been today. The only thing is there is no click so need to be careful and heating the bottom of cap seems to get consistent results so far.

This is it here and as you can see my AVB is very dark but this is how i like it so very happy with this. I put the DF2 and Solo3 in picture just so you guys can see how small this thing is.

Seriously you guys who like these butane vapes need to get this and it uses only 0.1g.

I just seen there are a few size of this and the Terpcicle that comes in 2 sizes. I will collect them all as they are not too expensive and post back and let you guys know.

Nice! Yea the thinner walled heaters are a bit more sensitive (under cook vs over cook) than the bigger boys, but very rewarding & flavorful. Often times I’ll add more heat while pulling as long as I won’t burn my face with the setup I’m using. Enjoy :brow:

Do you envision any trade off's for the coiled QC Mega? I'm trying to decide whether to wait for it or not.

I imagine it would more open airflow compared to 18mm. But would it behave differently in terms of the heat dynamics?

Also, do you think it will take a long time before release?

I have been playin with a new toy. It works really well. 500f gets me 4 big hits and finishes the bowl. I would say 90/10 convection/conduction. As a design feature I dont love the screen but it works. I'll get some of these for the next order and get them out for testing. If anyone has a source for bulk rubies let me know

Have you tried torching one of these? Does it fit on a 14mm bowl like the #11 that I have? If so, I'm afraid I'll have to get one with blue sapphires to match the rest of my setup.

I am mostly using the Quartz Cap Mini over the Dani fusion 2 and getting consistent results with the thickest cap heated for 30 seconds and then used in a J-Hook and extracted in 1 hit. I pushed the gauze down a bit so its fully protected between 2 layer.

I did combust a few times in the beginning but not since keeping the lighter length to low and not letting the hot tip reach the cap and rotate so no hot spots. Also I use the clock stopwatch timer on my PC so its exactly 30 seconds.

@RedZep its not huge. The difference between the 14 and 18 can be really big both in airflow but also conduction/convection mix. I think after some use, the Mega Coil is more of a party vape. It would be ideal to top a hookah and set it low and go to town. It takes some time to really get up to heat even with a 1 minute heat soak. The temps I run, 525 for the 14mm delivers instant whiteout, 580 for the 18mm delivers whiteout on the second hit, Mega at 590 took into the second hit. As you get larger you greatly reduce the conduction. I just ordered Quartz Mega heaters and ill order coils this week so im hoping to have some Betas by December.

@Rodney glad you found a technique that works for you. Have you tried preheating the bowl? Lee has a great video. Here is the link

@friedrich I did, but it was going to take a lot of heating to get it up to temp compared to something like an Elev8r so i didnt bother experimenting more

BETA Baller Heads are here. I have 5 available. $25. You have to provide some feedback and must have good motor skills in case you try and rebuild it and put the screen back in, lol. First 5 to DM.

It's only a matter of time before I break my mini stem/bowl. @RogueGuy , any chance that you'll be offering the Mini QC stem separate from the heaters like you do with other pieces?

I have made the bowls for the "QC Mini" and the "I'll Think" available in the main listing. I'm also cutting the vents shorter to hopefully make them less fragile.

Well I have had a good run, but..... I might have a recall if you bought an 18mm wireless handle to use with a Terpcicle

So, I'm a dummy and didn't test the 18mm handle on the Terpcicle enough. I have run my Quartz Cap for 100S of hours without issue with this setup. I was contacted by a customer who said that it was slipping on his Terpcicle OnePiece Heater. After some discussion I was able to easily reproduce his slipping experience. Luckily it seems to slip down with downward pressure onto the joint so at least the heater does not fall off. So, if you purchased a handle and want to return it or have feedback please contact me. If you are using it on the Quartz Cap there is no issue

Just trim up a beer can into a shim. Good to go.

Edit: the handles are absolutely gorgeous. So many options. Thank you.

@RogueGuy did you sell all the handles you had listed? My QC slides in & out of the coil pretty smooth, but my Terpcicle fits in squeaky tight. I’ll probably do a QC wireless option once you get the stand/holder available as well.

@TedJones no, I sill have a bunch just wanting to figure out this size issue first. Are you talking coil fit or handle? There are some Terpcicle heaters that won't fit

Yea this is coil fit with my newer one piece. Works fine, but tough to get on. Don’t have a handle yet.

Been thinking @RogueGuy, would it help if you crowdsourced some potential names for your products? Your innovation in the vape space remains unsurpassed imo (close 2nd @Brenyo) but I wonder if a supply of names might be helpful? Remember the naming frenzy at the birth of the @Vapvana screwball?

Just a thought. I also love my nameless btw, so you do you.

So I bought the 14mm QC and a big torch a few months back. I have to be honest I didn't like it. The vapour quality was very nice, but the amount of fuel I was burning through wasn't enjoyable for me

I recently picked up the coiled 18mm QC. Now this thing is amazing. I just fill it up with small half buds (about 0.3g) and vape it all in one go. The taste and vapour quality are amazing, and the best session like experience I've ever had.

Because it wrecks me, I only use it at weekends. It's my Sat/Sun wake and bake vape, and my god it holds that niche down hard. I love pouring the buds into my hand at the end and crushing them up to find perfectly even extraction.

I'm now glad no one bought my 14mm QC of me. I'll be picking up a coil for that one at some point also.

What are you using to hold the two coils up? I've been waiting for a really simple and clean solution to hold two coils and this fits the bill.
Here's my post on the stand itself from awhile back, hope the links still work:

Those line suspension clamps are sort of the key. They clamp down flat so it's possible to fit two.

Hope this helps.

I wind up the coil by hand just a little Stays for ever. No cllips.

Holding it in both hands, wind it the direction to make it smaller. As soon as you feel any kind of give, stop. It may go off to the side a little. That is OK. Or just keep trying a little harder until something happens. I have heard of folks using pliers or even 2 sets, but this could mar the coil.

I did this with the small coil and the big coil.

The quartz should be difficult to impossible to slide in. Now un wind it just enough to slide the piece in.
You are done.

This is not for every one. I am a metal worker.

PLEASE READ!!! If you are using a wireless 14mm setup please post some info here. I have one customer who has had two 14mm Flanged Quartz Cap heaters break under the wireless handle wire. I have not heard of any other issues but just wanted to reach out to see if anyone else had any issues?

@coolbreeze I hadn't gone deep to realize you also had the 18mm and ill assume that there are no problems there?

@nicknobody Terpcicles are on the way and I hope to have them listed for black friday and shipped by the end of the month

@David Root as long as it works, that's all that matters
