@TeaCup I have a torch that can go from a huge flame to almost nothing, it's ideal. I love my Big Buddy but was very disappointed to find that the adjustment did almost nothing to the size of the flame

"Unfortunately some have way too small of an opening" now sure looks awfully darn sketchy following that video quote, lol! :uhoh:
Then add in
may I have a female one
And you really have a "post out of context"!!!

Circling back around to the Smokestack setup, finally got a chance to fire mine up again last night ... man is that a great vape. TONS of flavor. TONS of vapor. Only downside is that it takes quite a while to cool down, so you better have somewhere safe to place it. Torch technique got better too, proving it really only ought to take 1-3 sessions to get dialed in. Most fun inexpensive vaporizer since I got the OG glass Dynavap!

@acaderp thanks for the post. Its pretty easy to master. With all my vapes I recommend starting conservatively and adding heat as needed. I use a poker tool to remove the heater and use a glass dish to put the heater on. This works with all the devices including the Glass Cap where I just slide it off

@coolbreeze hope you like it. If you haven't already, watch the demo video on my site

I remembered that I have a bamboo "botany tray" (ha!) that I bought from an athletic-wear manufacturer I like ... small business and the owner is a huge fan of cannabis so 4/20 always sees fun accessories.

Edit: Wowsers! Hits like it looks! Took a half-fill down in two and a half monster hits because the stem is sooooo cool! Gonna have to test that later! Awesome vape, @RogueGuy !

Edit 2: As awesome as the vape is, the pipe is right there with it. Just vaped a big hit with the B-Zero and nothing but cool, cool clouds. It's as cool as a bong, easy.

@coolbreeze how does that work with the 14mm injector bowl?
That's the bowl from Couch Log, and the heater works really well with it. I think I've gotten my best results with this setup. I used a Firefox on a very low .5" inner flame, warmed up the neck a bit and then shot the flame in/up toward the top of the funnel. Got several full, tasty hits off that little load. I think this funnel's a bit easier to use for me than the big amber one, but I'll bust that one out and try it with the pipe, too.

So.... what's the state of the art here, @RogueGuy ? I have *so* many questions. I'd like to try a glass hemp-SAK (swiss army knife) sort of thing but the options are bewildering.

For example the mouthpieces... is there a functional difference between this single wall unit and this double walled one?

And the conduction units- how do I choose between the glass/quartz cap, the terpedo, or the new terpsicle? (great name, I want it just because)

Is the additional length of the terpsicle ungainly with a mouthpiece?

Finally (maybe?) on the direct draw and/or conv/cond front... can the V-stick inlet work for 100% direct draw if desired (with funnel preheat as needed) or is a separate funnel inlet required (in which case what is the bowl solution)?

Priorities are fun, taste, power, capacity...

Thanks!

@coolbreeze I agree, the Mini Funnel Nelson is easier than the big Funnel. I tend to hit the big Funnel glass with the torch first to give it a little preheat. I find a lot of the heat from the first hit gets obsorbed I to the glass.

@feralcomprehension that's a damn good question. I'm all over the place and I'm terrible at promoting them in a way that explains the differences. It's the same with the Vapcap MPs.

First let me say that I consider myself an artist first, functional product maker second. This comes into play with a lot that I make.

Anecdotaly, I find the 2 piece cooling stem cooler than the regular cooling stem. I can't explain why. Is it significantly cooler? I honestly can't answer that question. I can say that all the cooling stems cool the vapor using the same method. I think it comes down to what you like, what speaks to you.

As far as the vapes go, other than the SmokeStack (pure convection) and the Nameless Conduction Vape, all the vapes are hybrids. The hybrids can be broken down into 2 groups. In one group is the Terpedo, Terpcicle, and the Glass Cap. These have a single heater that does both the convection and conduction and therefore you can't really microtune them. The difference between Terpedo and Terpcicle is the Terpedo is the simple version that you can easily throw on a pipe or cooling stem where the Terpcicle is a lot easier on the WP. The Glass Cap vs the Quartz Cap comes down to preference. I think the quartz probably has more even heating but the quartz heaters are made by a scientific glass Co while I make the glass heaters myself. I actually think the glass has better flavor but my go to setup has been an 18mm with quartz heater. It rips twax bowls so well. In the other group would be the V-Sticks. These have separate heaters for convection and conduction heat so you can fine tune to your preference.

In the end, they are all similar but have their own unique style and signature.

I never got great performance using the narrow ended whips with direct draw. The one i sell for DD is much bigger like an SB intake. The Mini Funnel is SD with the 18mm fitting because there are so few 14mm bowl options.

I hope that helps clear things up. Always happy ro answer questions

Also want to give a shoutout to @davesmith AKA Glass Charlie. He and I developed very similar devices at the same time. I have the upmost respect for GC, he was and still is a huge inspiration. If you are in Europe and are interested in this device, check out his thread here;
