Received my titanium dabber and plate in the mail today...pretty snazzy! I don't have anything to dab...yet...but when I do, I am eager to give this a whirl.
I also have the dabber plate. As
FlashVAPE acknowledges, it really needs a power adapter to work the way dab-lovers like. A dab takes a lot of heating so the battery life is not so good, and even then the plate doesn't get hot enough for that instant dab that the aficionados want. Never fear, however, you can get that by replacing the plate with a tabbed screen. This gets hot enough to vaporize the dab instantly so the flavour is purer than with the plate. (The PA will fix this.) I thought that dabbing might ruin the tabbed screen, but in my tests there was no clogging, only some discolouration of the tabbed screen, and no effect at all on the heater screen. You can still put the Ti dabbing tool to work while you wait for the PA!
Another thing I noticed was that after I had tried a couple of dabs, whenever I started to heat it up there was some vapour rising up from the bowl. On close examination, I could see some resin buildup on the ceramic under the heater screen and this seemed to be the source of the heat-up vapour. I don't know if this could turn into a problem if the buildup gets too heavy. It wasn't for me but I haven't done a lot of dabs with the FV.
You need to remove your top screen to dab, which might present a problem when you try to put it back unless you have the screen replacement tool. You'll probably want to use a short whip with it as well (the LB whip is just right) so that you can see into the FV as you dab. I found dabbing blind to be a bit clumsy and frustrating.
