Multiple, early backers edition. I like to unload asap as it keeps the screen clean for all my other vapes.Do you have just the one capsule?
Seconds, quicker than the 7. Even quicker after the initial heat up.Does the 8 count as an on demand vape? What is the warmup time? Very little info on the site.
Cool, how evenly does it cook? Is it convection-leaning?Seconds, quicker than the 7. Even quicker after the initial heat up.
Little bit more convection bias for sure, compared to the 7.Cool, how evenly does it cook? Is it convection-leaning?
It's a tempting little product as I'm starting to feel like I'm never going to receive a Nomad/Toad, and I'd love a more portable Tafee with a replaceable battery - which seems unrealistic given their recent history. The ceramic capsule is just my cup of tea, if ya know what I mean.Little bit more convection bias for sure, compared to the 7.
While I do think it roasts pretty even, I gotta say if I had to complain about something it’s that I often get a hotspot right on the very topmost layer and it looks like it could be vaped more but when I dump the cap the abv is all an even medium/darkish brown. I am finding ease in 1-hit extraction through a water piece so in that respect I’d definitely say it cooks evenly.
I’ve come to learn with most vapes once the vapour runs out and she tastes toasted, that’s probably all she’s got, regardless of how the abv might look. I have tested by throwing the abv into the anvil but the results were nill, and pretty much just tasted like charr.
I think this hotspot thing is mostly because of the lid design, with the 3 way air grooves.
Got it yesterday! Yeah for me it's the same. The airflow is still there when covering all holes and I also think the the air comes from the mouthpiece part, because there is space between the ceramic and wood where the air can flow up to the bowl inlet. I don't see any space to the electronicsOne thing I’m noticing that I’d love to hear about from other users of the 8
What happens to your draw restriction when you cover all 4 intake holes? For me there’s absolutely no change in the draw, like the holes aren’t even allowing air through them to begin with.
I’ve taken everything apart and can clearly see a direct path for the air to flow through the holes and into the chamber and it’s not blocked. Just interesting that blocking them from the outside doesn’t make any difference. Leads me to believe that the vast majority of the air comes through where the mouthpiece meets the ceramic chamber just under the bowl. Possibly a bit of air leakage from the contact leads which means some cold air would flow over electronics like it did in the 7. (Not a big deal for me) I’m not 100% on that last part, just an observation after taking a good look at it now that I have it in front of me.
I recharge when I get to two buzzes and haven't noticed any real noticeable drop off in power. There might be a marginal increase in time til.it comes up to power, but I haven't timed it and it hits just the same. How is the battery power for firewood 8 owners? Does the power and perdormance drops with lower level of battery?
I think it's dependend on the batterys used, some drop very fast in power and others stay nearly constant.

www.monthsbehind.com and all, but just wanted to join the chorus in saying the FW7 is amazing! I've done two bowls at stock settings, I believe--the first preset is 340, second is 380, and the last is 420. I've mostly been using the first two presets, and the FW has performed admirably! I was kind of surprised how much vapor I got at 340--I guess that is the conduction part of the equation. With other vapes when I am around 340 its a lot of flavor, but not much visible vapor.
Doesn't hurt that its a gorgeous device, too--really love how small and well put together the whole thing is. I need to spend more time with it before having detailed thoughts, but so far its been a joy to use. So far I just have two small niggles: one, I can see the vibration feedback not being for everyone. It works fine for me once you understand it, and I think the Firewood looks much better without any kind of screen. The second is that I wish there was something that made it more obvious when I was going to pull the stem out--I can sort of feel that I'm pulling through the o-ring below the oven, but something to make pulling it out all the way a little more of a deliberate act would improve the ux a tiny bit. Still, those are tiny concerns and mostly I've just been extremely impressed with it so far! I need to put the WPA to use when I can get a little more slammed!
Yeah man I actually have a lot of thick enough vapor experience with 340, but especially for FW7 and that conduction it was best to lower it... I settled in at 320 and 310 in my two FW7s' lowest settings I think? With 30° steps for the next two settings
At least on my TP80, 340 is a pretty whispy couple of hits for me, but who knows if my 340 === your vapes’ 340. It’s a phenomenal place to enjoy terps, though!
I’ll have to try the fw a bit lower. I’ve still got a lot of experimenting to do. It’s really floored me with how wonderful it is! I was always a little put off by the oven—I really like how easy to clean the glass stem based ovens (tetra or tinymight) are to clean. I guess we’ll see when I get to the point of needing to do a deep clean, but so far just blowing out the remains and doing some empty pulls to let the heat handle cleaning seems to be working well.
How do you pull the capsule out?
How do you empty the capsule once you have it out? (While hot)
How do you clean the capsules?
As already mentioned you can use ceramic tipped tweezers (can get a 3pack for like $10 bucks) or what I do when I’m at home or posted up at a spot on the trail is just tap the bowl out as soon as I’m done with it into a little cardboard dish I have. I also tap it out into my palm after letting it cool down for a few moments if I happen to be without my little dish.Hey guys. I've been considering adding a FW8 to my vape collection but still have some questions.
How do you pull the capsule out?
How do you empty the capsule once you have it out? (While hot)
How do you clean the capsules?
How many hits/bowls do you get from a battery pack?
Is packing a capsule on the go easy?
High Artisan and Good Vibes Boro are my two favourite glass stem makers for the FW7/8.Might have to check out High Artisan’s FW7 stems. I don’t know what’s available for after market at all. I was figuring I’d splurge on an ogb j hook and call it a day for most of my vapes .
What did/do you guys do to clean the 7 oven? Do I more or less have it with a blast of heat and wiping with an iso soaked q tip here and there?
Would work when cold too, but the ceramic chamber could get stuck in the oven with herbal reclaim stickiness, also the herbs might not come out of the chamber as easily once they are cooled off
Honestly you’re thinking about this maybe a little too hard here, haha. That sounds super annoying TBH! I know we should avoid letting our bowls cool down and re-caramelize with material inside, but let's face it, it happens regularly when using on-demand devices on the go.
When I go outside with colleagues that want to smoke their cig during a short pause for instance, I don't have enough time to fully consume one bowl in my Impcognito. So in the worst case I leave it inside the stem as is to finish it later on.
Here you say I would have to always bring tweezers with me and do some good dexterity gymnastic while standing outside to prevent having the stuff being stuck in the device? And then I'd have to find a way to store the bowl unfinished left-overs without spilling them on the floor while still trying to not burn myself? (currently with the Impcognito even when hot I can just use a poker tool to empty the bowl in the palm of my hand, then I re-suck it inside as I would when I "flip" it mid-session. When I do that it tends to clog the screen less when it cools down)
