Just put in an order for one. I'll let you guys know what's up once I get it and perform some tests.
Congratulations on being 1 of only 2 buyers! Their Etsy store opened yesterday so it's not surprising they haven't sold many [yet].

Check out the reddit thread for details:
http://www.reddit.com/r/vaporents/comments/1cthw1/new_portable_model_the_firewood/
The creator (and his website) says it is a combination convection and conduction vape. It also heats up on demand (like the VG, MFLB, FV, etc.) and provides 40 min of heating time. I sent the creator a msg about joining FC and posting here, hopefully he comes through!
Just found this thread after seeing this on reddit.

I'm not at all surprised that the person who posted the link from reddit has a sloth avatar.

Very interesting ... if someone else hadn't already bought it I might have been the guinea pig ... I think I'll wait for the 1st review now though :)

Received an e-mail from the maker after messaging him inquiring further about the device. He thanked me for being an early supporter of his business and informed me I should have it(hopefully) Wednesday. Asked about the materials used; everything sounds legit. Can't wait to get it. :science:

Looks to me like some custom wood ecigs maybe . I also hope it is smth like the budtoaster and with clean airpath. I guess there is some reason why not.. but it would be cool if it used those e-cig batteries li-po or whatever they call them i am not very informed but i guess they last longer :)

I don't think it's much like an ecig. From what I read on the reddit thread it has a glass tube wrapped in nichrome as the heating element. This sounds like it would vape similarly to the solo; a mix of convection/conduction. It also seems to have a glass (or mostly glass) airpath. It's like the solo and the mflb had a lovechild;)

The combination convection/conduction reminds me more of the XP. The chamber is heated as well as the air that passes through the herb. The glass straw/chamber also reminds me of the XP's capsules. So for me, I think it's a mix between the mflb and the XP. :p

Absolutely great price point for a pocket vape! Very impressed if this turns out to be a great portable. I just love all these new device. :D
For the ones with an MFLB budget, but PAX/Solo/Inhalater/Ascent/Pinnacle (need more? :p ) needs this could be the ultimate option. I could see a place in the market for it.

Lulz. I like the marketing bit about manual vs. an auto. It just means no thermostat, just a single heat volume input. I'm still a fan of these style vapes, but it's funny to see it get drummed up. A better analogy would be an engine with a single throttle position, with a CVT.

I'm not too good at analogies though, but am interested in the small bowl size, I think this may be worth it for that alone.
