Careful now, color change is not 100% indicative of extraction.

Just look at the Herbalizer - ABV looks damn near uncooked even at 410F

I'm not talking degrees wise.

The color of my herb dictates if I need to go hotter or cooler. I like my abv a dark brown almost black color. I've never had abv that looked uncooked and did not produce more vapor if the temp was increased.

Also never tried an Herbalizer.

That won't be very accurate. The temp will change as you draw and depending on how u draw.

I judge my temp by how much my herb is changed color.
Well then even though my herbalaire is set to 320 that would mean it's not very accurate because it would also change by how you draw?

I just really want to know the temperatures of each dial just so I know what ballpark range the temps are. If they're not exact that's ok. I just want to know whereabouts I need to stay within the ranges I like.

Sorry if that was a rambling of putting it.

I personally don't care about a number. When I find a spot I feel the full effects and get a full extraction from my herb. That's my perfect temp not 379 degrees on the button or whatever. 7.25-7.5 is my temp.

That's impossible to answer. Every house's electrical system is different. There is no microprocessor in this vaporizer maintaining electrical current to the heater. Instead the temperature dial is a standard pulsed-width modulator (PWM) to control voltage (it's a light dimmer switch).

The electrical grid inside and outside of your house is extremely "dirty", the power in your house may vary from room to room, and time of the day will have an impact, you may find your Nano running hotter during off-hours, and running cooler during peak hours.

The Nano is a very analog device, you will need to experiment to find your favorite settings on the vape. All we can tell you is people vaporizer ground cannabis between 5.5 and 7.5 on the dial, and slightly higher for concentrates.

I just mean, I want to use my laser thermometer.
Yeah, that won't work very well. IR thermometers aren't as accurate as you think - the emissivity setting is usually pre-set (So it's not good for reflective surfaces like glass and metal), and the focus is rather broad (can't really pinpoint a small object like a heating element).

You're better off using a thermal imaging unit (like a FLIR) if you really want to read temperatures

Wow, you guys weren't fucking around when you said this thing is small. I thought I was ready for something about the size of a soda can but man, I was surprised when the nano was in the SMALLER box than the cord ha.

But I have a question, this is the stem I was given.

Is it normal for it to only fit over the core this much?

Think @NekoGurrl was saying the outside wood was hitting 120 F. Think that would be about right on a fully warmed nano if using it a bit warm - or if ambient temp is up there.

There's a chart posted here and there through the thread that show approximate temps at given dial settings. I'm not linking to it, because I don't want to be a part of the madness that can follow. Just keep in mind that those are average temps for a given nano after warm up. Different nanos in different situations will run a bit differently.

Man! That sucks! Definitely not right. Did you get any other glass with your order?

If not, kicking the heat up may work (7? maybe higher). First I would try to push the screen down pretty close to heating element and maybe keep the heat around 6.5. E-pik depth is going to be too deep for you, but what you want is to have the load pretty close (less than a dime width away if you can swing it) once all is in place. Hold it horizontal and should be functional, even if not optimal. May take a little maneuvering, but it will work - just no where near as good or easy as it should! There is one tiny up side here.... You'll be able to easily see how close your load is to the heat port screen. Usually that can be tricky to get a good look at because it is in the recessed part. Still... would be better to have good glass and have to look harder!

Let Nadia & Andy know and they should get one out to you ASAP. Probably get to keep the bad one too, so I wouldn't be too worried about using it however you need to to get you through.

Thanks everyone for the help and answers! I did see that hart just yesterday and made sure to take a a screenshot of it, thanks!

I did not get any other glass unfortunately. And thanks a bunch for the such detailed help, I really appreciate it! I will be trying what you're suggesting and will definitely be in contact with them for a new one!

@Ratchett I just cleaned my D022 with PBW and finished with steam cleaning.
It sparkles!
I agree with in how funky it might look!
However GIRL SCOUT COOKIES through a NANO!

No matter what You Think this is true medication!

That D022 must be really easy to clean since you can take the stem and perc out, right? Kind of wish I could do that with all my glass sometimes!

That won't be very accurate. The temp will change as you draw and depending on how u draw.

I judge my temp by how much my herb is changed color.

The 120 degrees was F, and was the temperature I received on the outside, to truly get a read of the temperature of the air for each dial setting would most accurately taken using a thermocouple placed right at the point the herb is placed and duplicate the air draw. I have normally vaped at 380-390 F on my other vaporizers. And the resulting AVB when your done, and the quality of the vapor. At 6.5 on the dial I can cloud my water tool and after 3-4 hits have lightly browned herb.

I also tried it with some BUD chips (what's left after rosin pressing) and they tasted and worked pretty well also. And might be good during the day as it's strength is lower.

First day with the E-Nano, and I'm agreeing with what I've read through this thread. This is one fantastic vape. One thing I've learned already is not to place the device near the edge of a table, the weight of the cord can nock it over. Think I'm going to put some velcro on the back of the reostat and mount it on the side of the end table.

You guys know, I love this already. :D That's how I look right now as I type on my phone. Even though the stem is wrong I kind of enjoy using it. I guess it helps I've never used one that fits either, but this sits on top of the heater for perfectly where if I just hold the nano horizontally I just rotate the stem like a breeze.

It's at 5.5 right now and I was feeling it after the first two hits. And I barrrely packed the stem! Even with my herbalaire it would take me a good 10 minutes to feel anything. I'm on hit 4 now, and I'm slowly sipping them, and I'm feeling SO good! The sun is setting though and I'm about to go on a bike ride because at the stage I'm at now, that shit is going to feel amazing.

Best part of the Nano though, the stem is still packed and just waiting to be placed over the heater and vaped when I get back! No more turning the herbalaire on and off so not to waste anything. I get it now!

I'm so happy with this purchase! :D:drool:
