Think
@NekoGurrl was saying the outside wood was hitting 120 F. Think that would be about right on a fully warmed nano if using it a bit warm - or if ambient temp is up there.
There's a chart posted here and there thrugh the thread that show approximate temps at given dial settings. I'm not linking to it, because I don't want to be a part of the madness that can follow. Just keep in mind that those are average temps for a given nano after warm up. Different nanos in different situations will run a bit differently.
Man! That sucks! Definitely not right. Did you get any other glass with your order?
If not, kicking the heat up may work (7? maybe higher). First I would try to push the screen down pretty close to heating element and maybe keep the heat around 6.5. E-pik depth is going to be too deep for you, but what you want is to have the load pretty close (less than a dime width away if you can swing it) once all is in place. Hold it horizontal and should be functional, even if not optimal. May take a little maneuvering, but it will work - just no where near as good or easy as it should! There is one tiny up side here.... You'll be able to easily see how close your load is to the heat port screen. Usually that can be tricky to get a good look at because it is in the recessed part. Still... would be better to have good glass and have to look harder!
Let Nadia & Andy know and they should get one out to you ASAP. Probably get to keep the bad one too, so I wouldn't be too worried about using it however you need to to get you through.
