Ya my crack defiantly didn't happen from falling. I suspected the deep grooves as well because they penetrate pretty deep and it is where my crack originated from I THINK. Not 100%. Again, this is no way bashing Andy's work. His vapes are amazing products.
The beauty of wood is that each piece is unique and each piece has it’s own character. The grain in that particular piece of wood had a weak spot and couldn’t handle the thermal stress of being heated and cooled, dried out and re-humidified. It is also possible that the grooves were cut too deep and that caused a weak spot for a crack to propigate from. (The grooves are not cut as deep now.) That said, I guarantee these units, including the wood for 2 years. I have also designed these units so it is very easy to replace the wood if there is a problem.
In my experience dropping the units has had no effect on the integrity of the wood, but I don't recommend it.

The type of stainless steel used makes a big difference on heat resistance.
Type (AISI 304) heated in air. Note: Type 304ss is not a medical grade stainless steel, but is almost the same as Type 316ss which is used for medical implants.
Pale yellow 554F
Straw yellow 644F
Blue 1004F
I use 304 stainless steel. When I 'burn in' the units on max. the temp of the stainless is close to 700f at the very tip which causes the discoloring. Remember, that is with no airflow and it is not recomended that the E-Nano be left on max. for any period of time, but you can use it on max. for a quick heat up.

So what temps are safe to leave the nano at? I leave mine on 7.5 all night usually.

shredhead,
Ok so heres my attempt at a video with the nano and my zapbubbler. Hope you all enjoy it!

Thanks for your help Andy! Drop box made it happen!

Ffffinally! Nice clouds with the Zapbubbler Ed!

My GonG is still stuck in Canadian customs. I don't see what takes them so long to clear...

I hope I don't have to go another week without moisture conditioned vapor, though I will say the E-Nano at temps 5-6 easily produces the smoothest vapor of any in my collection.

I know that cough too well, Ed. That's definitely the cigs! Been smoking for almost 35 years and I'm down from pack and a half to a few a day with using e-cigs. Hopefully down to none soon! Its basically nicotine infused flavored liquid (e-juice) that you vape. Might be worth a try for you. Check out this monstrous forum http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ for tons of info. Hit me up in pm if you'd like any advice from a noob. The whole thing can be a little daunting with so many options/vendors/forums/etc, but you can probably get started with what I've been using for a couple weeks for about $75 total (incl. 2 e-cigs, charger & junk, a few weeks worth of e-juice).

Sorry about the off topic post - but thought this one might be worth it.

PS..... Thanks for the great vid. Nice tunes, too!

Andy --

Can you please update us on the back orders? I have tried e-mailing you, you have not responded.

For all potential buyers - a note about the ordering process:

"Availability in Stock" and "Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery" are misleading, IMO. I'm approaching 6 weeks, no Nano and no indication from Andy as to when to expect my order. Money is taken up-front. E-mails are ignored.

andy updated the thread 2 pages ago.
Nobody's patience is worn thinner than mine. I sourced and bought moulds from 2 different vendors. The first vendor had quality issues, the second vendor promised me the heaters over 2 months ago! The E-Nano bodies are just sitting around waiting for their hearts...

Don't think I'd call that an update - and it was more than a week ago. An update would be something like - "heater cores are here (or are expected on whatever date), and I hope to start shipping backorders on DATE."

What was posted seems more like sharing frustration created by trying to deal with Chinese vendors in the month they typically shut down production for a few weeks for Chinese New Year.

But thanks for stepping in to answer. I don't think we've seen an update here from him on expected shipping since Feb 1, when Andy said.......

Because some people were close but missed the cutoff time. I've extended both sales until Sunday Feb 3. Please keep in mind the E-Nano is backordered for at least 2-3 weeks. Thanks

Andy

I hope the reports above about unanswered emails are simply impatience (admittedly mine is starting to wear a little thin), and just emailed him a while ago requesting an update - so guess I will get to see for myself. My nano order was placed and paid for about 8 weeks ago. In previous emails I was told "about 3 weeks" twice. First time when I asked about expected ship date 2 weeks after my order, and second time 3 weeks ago. I also asked here in the forum about expected ship/delivery before I placed my order back in January. I don't think Andy expected the issues he's encountered, but his response then was -

Back in stock. New orders will ship early next week

That was on 1/18. My order was placed within hours on the same date.

Not trying to call him out too much yet, but your response (559), just as I was deciding to try to be nice and not "Like" Clean's post, didn't sit too well with me. Perhaps you should send Andy some of your hard earned cash and let him hold it for a couple months while you get sketchy (if any) updates for a little better perspective.

With my luck it'll ship when I go away on the 21st.
But ive been on the HI waiting list for 10+ months now
I'm hoping that no answers to email would be because hes installing the heater cores. I to emailed last week with no answer...

flotntoke,
I understand the frustration of those who are still waiting for their E-Nano after having paid some time ago. I too had to wait over a month after putting money up front. Of course the wait was absolutely worth it and I love my E-Nano.

As frustrating as it is, I think sometimes we take for granted just how open vape manufacturers are with our community. It's easy to get upset or angry when we don't hear back from them immediately, but in some cases it's an unrealistic expectation. Andy has already stated the reason why the E-Nanos are delayed. I'm sure that as soon as he has new information, he will share it.

I think it's important to note that EpicVape isn't some huge company, it's just one person - Andy. And even the big companies aren't immune to delays due to inventory/parts issues. TET Cera, VXH Cloud and others come immediately to mind.

I think Andy has been very open with us about delays and their causes. I don't think he expected the E-Nano launch to be as successful or demand as high as it is/was.

My :2c:

I get that, and understand where you're coming from. Hopefully my rant above wasn't poorly received and I'm going to put all that mess away in hopes that my nano will soon be ready and on its way to me.

I can obviously understand CleanFiend's post - and don't think its a bad idea to put fair warning out there for others who may be thinking about purchasing. I certainly think things will get better with production & shipping as Andy gets his production issues cleared up, and hopefully long waits with unknown expected delivery will soon be a thing of the past. I'm sure that will also be reflected in posts here as things fall into place.

I posted something similar about Andy keeping us updated here last week - and though I can understand his reluctance - I think that's what I would do in a similar situation.

What really got me going was someone else jumping in and saying "andy updated the thread 2 pages ago" for the reasons I already stated. Maybe that would have been better handled with a PM to that person, but as we have just passed my 3rd expected ship date (all 3 with no update or communication until I emailed) my frustration is getting a little worse. Not that its anyone's fault but my own, but see my post above re: quitting smoking cigs for a little more insight as to why. Then again, I don't think my dwindling patience at this stage is too unusual for anyone - whether a little more tense from quitting smoking or not.

I want to state right up front that I take full responsibility for, what I believe to be, the wrong choice for my first plug-in vape. I'm sure it is a great piece. I bet I would love it if timing was different. I should probably be more patient.

I too was under the impression that this vape was indeed "in stock" when I ordered. I was probably trying too hard to save a couple of bucks by ordering in January when they were at a reduced price, but not actually available.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, or that I'm piling on or picking on Andy now, but I'm going to give it a total of 6 weeks from when I placed my order, over twice the time stated when I discovered that the items were backordered. At that point I am going to ask for either a FIRM shipping date, an offer to buy an EV2 for a discount, or a refund of my money that I already paid for an ENV.

Flotntoke, I haven't had a cigarette in over a year so I don't believe its just you...I wanted a vape, I found one that I thought was available, I paid. I've been waiting almost six weeks and I have not been vaping with the piece I paid for, so now I'm frustrated because I believe I made a poor choice. The lost value of not being able to use the vape I paid for five weeks ago probably far exceeds any perceived or actual discount offered during January on the EVN.

For this reason I only order an item when it's in stock.
Like you say what did you really save?
On the other hand you will love your vape when you get yours!
Now just sit back and wait!

To be fair...when many of us ordered it was in stock. Word of the delay came shortly after I put my order in. I'm on week 6 now and I feel bad about it but I am pretty sure that I will be asking for a refund. I understand that things happen and this is a problem beyond Andy's control but I can't afford to wait any longer.

I had purchased the nano because I needed an efficient vape to go along with the big hitter I already have so I didn't blow through my stash too quickly. Fast forward 6 weeks and my stash is low like I had feared and it now sounds like it will be another 3 weeks to a month if not longer before the back orders will ship.

The January discount doesn't even come close to making up for the wait at this point. Its a shame because I really want the nano more than any other log vape...I'm sure its a great product and one day I will likely own one. I just can't justify waiting anymore.
