So I tried to use my newly received Omni XL condenser with the stem from my Ti Woody XLS and somehow I have an issue with the fit. The force I need to apply to have the condenser fully inserted is such that I fear damaging the stem when doing this too often.

I eventually had the condenser fully seated however when turning the mp to adjust the airflow it is the mp that moves backwards/forwards, the condenser stays put due to it sitting so tightly in the stem.

I tried inserting the condenser without the mp to confirm it is indeed the condenser causing the issue and not the mp, and indeed the same occurs without the mp. The fit seems ok up to the point where I have approx. 1,5 cm of the condenser still sticking out of the stem. From that point I have to apply considerable force to move it further in. It's as if the diameter of the stem is somewhat narrower near the middle, preventing the wider part of the condenser (where the o-ring sits) from going any further. I tried applying dynawax on the o-ring but this only makes a marginal difference.

Is there anything I am missing here? I should be able to use an omni condenser with a stem from a Ti Woody right?

Ah, need to add - I have no such issues with the original condenser that came with the Ti Woody

To close the loop - I received some replacement o-rings for the condenser. There was a slight but apparent difference with the original o-ring where the condenser now inserts into the stem a lot easier. The entire assembly now works as expected, including the adjustable airflow. Thanks to the DV team for looking into it!

Glad you got it all sorted out mate.

Now it's working is it meeting your expectations?

finally pulled the trigger on a blackwood vong to pair with my M. excited to see what all the jazz is about with these ti tips. thanks @PuffItUp killing it as usual.

Looking forward to your report ;)

I'm looking forward to my new torches, my stickybrick torch stopped firing literally the session after ordering that gear.. so ill be capping again soon. I did try the m with a bic after that lighter died, it works but not super great hits.

Ha typical, the universe has a twisted sense of humor.

Hope your torches ship swiftly

Yes bud PM @Pipes to get on the list.

I'd recommend the Skeletor unit if you are happy to find an enclosure for it yourself.

I suspect @Pipes will be able to push those out quicker as they are a prerequisite for the other modules and require less time to build.

If you don't mind waiting and don't want to Diy a case then I think the Portside is the best unit to go for.

The Jarhead II looks awesome too and is a more economical unit if you don't mind being tethered.

@Pipes induction heater? HELL YEAH!!! I have a PortSide I absolutely love! Had its tailgating debut this weekend. 2 (and sometimes 3) VCs heating in succession. Took a little timing not stepping on each others toes (sort of like the dip bowl with chips), but wasn't too hard - especially with two people in sync. Hardly noticed by neighbors or passers by. Did many heats (after being use at home for many more) and the battery level is just starting to dip. Love it!

Was that when using a SS or Ti tip?

@Summer spot on here! Heating orientation stays the same with Ti or SS tips. Only difference is in heat up/cool down/re-heat times, and I usually get SS tip (M) closer to flame for first heat to speed things up a bit.

...... Well, I just picked up 62% brovedas so this was moist. I didn't get around to taking it out earlier to let it dry out for a couple of days or even use @flotntoke's suggestion of putting it in the car for a short time to dry it out. But, because it is moist, got a nice coarse airy/fluffy grind. And, despite the moisture, it vaped very well & was flavorful....

I save the car heating method for if I need to dry out a bit when away from house, or quicker/more heavy drying. At home, I prefer to wrap loosely in paper (copy paper or brown paper bag piece folded into little envelope), and put it on top of cable box (or other warm electronic device) for an hour or so. I usually only do .5 g at a time, but will often do about a gram if going out partying and carrying more to share. Works well even if a bit humid in the house, tho can take a bit longer if indoor RH is 70% or more. Very rare here, as that usually has me kicking the A/C on. I still like the 62% Boveda's because this drying process is part of my normal routine. Usually have good cures and what seems like humidity/moisture content of about 60% on new batches, so this works well for me and think it keeps everything nice and fresh without concerns of mold. I used to check this on every new batch (overnight in mason jar with small RH meter), but not too much anymore. Also have checked after my cable box drying method and find it is usually around 45-52% after an hour. Perfect? Hard to say, but works for me.

Have tried the 58% Boveda's and they worked fine, but harder to find and were pricier last time I had to get new ones. Don't think I'd like to go lower than that, but may experiment with some 49% to see how they do - maybe without need for drying before use?

A grind of 62% will work OK without drying if you just throw it in grinder. I like it drier for two reasons. First being easier to get my medium-fine > fine grind and not quite as much gunking up. Bigger reason is that I find around 50% or a little less gives me better, thicker, tastier vapor. It can get down to splitting hairs for perfect moisture content, but IME a little drier isn't just easier to work with, it vapes better. More moisture content means more water vapor (plain steam) and less active vapor in your hit. No big, and could make hits a bit more comfortable if not going through water, but 50% just seems like my sweet spot with most stuff.

@Summer I use a wide mouth 50ml Vitality Glass container that I got from 420edc.com for 10 bucks. Super high quality storage for fresh herb of any stripe. I put my saffron fronds and other good spices in them also. 420edc is on the forum as @cannabis.pro. Super good service, also got one of my Mi's from him

All good, and many great solutions out there. I swear by Mason jars and have for years. Super cheap, many sizes and a few shapes. I kind of like the low wide 1/2 pints these days for wide mouth and what seems like good size for 1/4 - 3/4 z. Usually use smaller ones or other re-purposed small jars for storing ground material. Have a few other small plastic containers that claim to be airtight with varying results. None except Jyarz (kind of pricey IMO) do as well as Mason or re-purposed jars with a good seal.

Be sure you keep them in a cool dark place in addition to airtight for best results. I keep mine in a cardboard box in a cabinet that seems to be one of the coolest places in the house besides basement.

My printer is out of ink so i had to free hand it... And this is just some scrap red cedar and black walnut i had... But i was bored so i thought I'd tinker...

This is getting beamed into my fire barrel Scotty.. :D

But i think I'll make a better one nicely sanded and all once i can print the image.

Yepp, the @Pipes Induction Heaters are nearly so addictive as the VC themselves. Never want to miss it again. At least double the fun when heating with the PIH - absolute recommandation.
A must have if your are not a total torch afficionado. Nearly no portable electrickery vape can compare with this pairing regard to it's performance and speed.
Before I would look for any new VC or bodies/stems I would buy one for sure.

I'm totally blown away by the battery life in my PortSide.

With my usage I recharge maybe once a month!

Love it!

This is how the damascus looked with less time in the acid.
I don't know how George achieved that surface colour, but its pretty damn cool, I really wanted exaggerated grain, and even a corroded look, so I requested a deeper etch.
Others may have preferred this though, so I post this too:

Both finishes are gorgeous IMO, but the raised grain is what I love most.

The three little carb holes are intended to allow the adjustment of airflow by the simple expedient of locating o-rings in the grooves, to your taste.
I sent George this idea, but he had already explored this method in earlier pieces.

Sorry about sucking up your bandwidth with these massive pic's, I'd have made the drawings smaller if I knew how

BTW, George hasn't settled on a final price for me yet, so I can't tell you how much he would be charging for something like this, or even if he's likely to ever make another damascus piece, I haven;t asked him this.
I hope he does though, this and the Damscus VonG that he made are both beautiful IMO, and will inevitably pair up beautifully with some more of @Ed's TnT 's wood.
When Ed finds the time to start doing custom pieces again, I'm gonna try to persuade him to make me an exact match in wood!, y'hear Ed?

Well, I think Georges artistry speaks for itself.......

@flotntoke The reason I use the Vitality Glass for my ground product is the light......the glass is designed to eliminate light spoilage on active botanicals. Nice and smell proof also. For my unground product, is use Cvaults with 62% Boveda packs, which are in turn stored in a Pelican case. Also, one of my regular suppliers vacuum wraps his product for me, which go into the Pelican alongside the Cvaults. Man, if I only organized the rest of my life as well as I manage my medicine:rant:

@flotntoke ... Man, if I only organized the rest of my life as well as I manage my medicine:rant:

Ain't that the truth!!

I like the C-Vaults, too. Have small and medium and they work great - especially to keep out light as well as air and Boveda in the lid. But, at 10x the price or so (for the fancy jars!) for C-Vault, I still use my mason jars the most. Not that the C-Vaults aren't necessarily worth it - but I can buy all the mason jars I'll ever need (as if I didn't already have a bunch) for the cost of one medium C-Vault.

I also have an old school vacuum pump that allows me to vacuum seal pretty much any jar - mason or re-purposed - with whatever vacuum pressure I like. Or at least way higher pressure than I would ever store my material. This works great for long term storage (12 - 18 months) when needed.

Point is - and to stay a bit more on topic for here - well cured, stored and properly moist material when you grind will add to a much better VC experience. It also seems more important to take better care of things than I would be worried about with smoking, pretty much as I've found with any vape. This not just because vapes are generally more revealing of stash quality and how well it's maintained. However much, a batch is usually around for 4x - 5x longer because of the benefit of using much less for vapor.

Well folks I've done went and done it........:uhoh:
I'm a recent newbie to the DynaVap world. My T-Woody S is or was a dream until I did the infamous extra o-ring modification........
WOW - NO DOUBLE WOW........:tup::tup::tup:

This is the dog that hunts now. I just didn't need the carb function hole. I mouth pull like smoking a pipe to start it, then sip and throat hit the vapor.......carb with my mouth off of the mouth piece.

Fantastic stuff......
Many million thanks to those that have gone before me and figured out the path to success. :peace:

I'm ready to upgrade from the M and am curious as to what you guys think is the absolute best part combination if money is no issue?

Check this thread! Think this exact same question has been asked every couple pages for past 6 weeks (since 7/4 sale).

Short answer.... Ti Woody in wood of your choice. Why? Read the many posts about this in past 6 weeks. :D

Been reading up but there seem to be varying opinions!

Ti-Woody...S? Regular? XLS? I definitely want the best experience possible with a VapCap, but I'm not sure that means buying the most expensive unit if that makes sense.
