Update for the VapCap and PyroVap.

I would like to extend a very sincere Thank You to all the wonderful people here on this forum for your support of my project! To see my campaign go down today was a horrible feeling. To see it start over and recover 30% of where it was after two weeks in two hours, well that is nothing but pure awesomeness.
Also, I had a nice chat with Ed today. We should have some pictures of Ed's Hybrid Wood / Titanium VapCap by Monday or so. I am excited to see that one. I also hope to have a dugout sized specifically for the VapCap by the weekend. Let me know if that would be appealing to anyone.

Well, I was an extra early, and now they're sold out. That's kind of lame.
Any chance I could add one at the extra early price if I also back at a higher level? Also, will the titanium version be added to the perks? I'd imagine that being able to continue use without burning your fingers is a useful feature to have...

When I said hybrid I was referring to the addition of the Titanium. The new hybrid models will be constructed using different materials like wood and titanium in place of some or all of the glass.

No on the both, I looked into making a dual purpose unit, but considering the low cost of the unit, I decided two better performing dedicated models at a lower cost was better than a higher cost compromise model.

Dugout in process then.

The main differences of the Ti units over the original all glass versions is they are more expensive, but also much more break resistant. The Ti units may take up to 1 second longer to heat up but I hope to reduce or eliminate this, and yes, they will still click. The click is one of the most important features of the device. It is very difficult to use a non-electronic vaporizer without an indicator, so at this point all of my Vaps will click.

I finished my first hybrid prototype a few minutes ago. The business end has been upgraded to titanium. Please let me know what you think. This is the direction I am hoping to go with Ed, titanium tips that is. We are hoping to substitute the glass for wood and titanium. I think the glass has it's place, and it definitely works well, but it seemed there was a need to satisfy the craving for something a bit more interesting than clear glass. A key feature of this design is the thermal isolation of the titanium end. This will allow for continued use without burning your fingers!

Assembled unit. Same length. Still fits nicely in the air tight plastic tube.

I agree the click really helps simplify vaping with an outside heat source, sure we're jumping on it, but I think combusters would really take to the VapCap too...

Good morning, I couldnt wait to get started on this project so I got up really really early this morning, slammed 3 cups of coffee and hit the shop running! The top piece is a 18mm Blacwood wong, the bottom 2 are Cocobolo. The middle piece is an outer stem that I just had to give a try, it does not have the neat little metal screen filter installed within it but does incorporate the inner glass air pathway and carb hole as does the original glass outer stem, not sure if it can even be useable but thought hey what the hell why not give it a try, maybe @VapCap can integrate the metal screen filter into it and maybe it could be an option. the lower piece is a stem turned to fit within his new titanium tips. You cant see in the above pic but within the stem is a narrow glass tube he sent me along with a bunch of parts. The 2nd picture shows the glass tube poking out the mouthpiece end. Now pls keep in mind the top and bottom wong/stem are not permanently attached to the tips at the moment. I am still in the design/mockup process. My thought is that I may install a pin within either to ensure they stay put or depending on what Vapcap wants to do or what you all think may work out after testing has been done that they may just be removable for easy cleaning and such. Now I have not tested the Vapcap yet as I dont have any testing material and hope that changes within the day. I am happy with what I have done so far but its not about how I feel, these pieces will be in route to Vapcap today and hopefully in his hands by Saturday!

This is all just preliminary, those of you that know my work know what I am capable of and how tricked out with detail these could be. This is only the beginning, I look forward to bringing all these pieces to Vapcap and to you all! I must say again how excited I was and have been to get out of the box and do something different, what a cool project this is and will be. I wanna also thanks again to you @VapCap for reaching out to me and also to @Adobewan for the referral!
