I don't know how well the Dynavap crew is able to finetune their caps in one way or the other – especially for beginners it actually makes sense to have a bit of a safe distance between click and combustion, but experienced users do not really need that. Sooo... maybe they should put the caps with the wider safety zone on Ms in their beginner kits. Or release a „pro cap“ (I already hate that name) where the click actually means it's ready for sure. But do we really need even more caps? I don't know.
I think George just needs to be honest about the change, and bring back the OG cap exactly how it was. Will be pretty easy to quantify with @TommyDee test and I can tell the difference straight away in an IH.

I know you don’t see a difference, but like I said we will agree to disagree there. The demand is certainly there regardless

Keep the new caps (I like them for torch use with the louder clickers) for those that like them. Keep the captive caps as some like them too

But a small corner of the store with OG caps and older tips is the easiest win possible for George, and keeps the old guys and gals around while he keeps throwing duality branded turds at a wall and waiting for one to stick

The later the click the hotter it is this thicker vapour, pretty simple, very visible in a bong. I always respect my click, I never ever go past the click ever.
Couldn’t you just adjust your heating technique on the newer caps to make them click later?

Somewhat yes, but not in a way that gives identical results. Close though

Much like with IH, sure I can come up with a technique to get the results and I have done.

I’d always prefer the simpler operation though, a perfect roast on click with minimal technique

I dunno man, I read this and found it real hard to agree with. You can grow your business without this behaviour, I’ve never understood that opinion and am still yet to

Just because other businesses do dodgy things to grow doesn’t mean we issue George a pass under “necessary evil” exemptions or wave it off when it only affects others and not us

There’s been a very clear change in how George conducts his business and interacts with his customers, this entire thread is black and white evidence of said change.

I love my DV’s but I’m not a huge fan of DV in its current state
Dynavap will always stay a legend. Because they are the foundation from where Mad Heaters will raise and dominate the vape game.

people love these and now a handful are available.
It's quite easy to find the PhantoM in EU-shops (same with SS19-tips) while they have been gone for a while in the States. They tend to be quite cheap even, no where near a 100 bucks..
So it appears that there is a stack of these unsold 19 Phantoms in a few european warehouses?
Now... hear me out...
Wasn't George in Holland recently?
...
If he finds some 19SS tips in an old box next we'll know what happened...

Well I am admittedly one of those customers at least in this case. I always wanted the 19 phantom. I got mine today and was willing to spend $100 on it. The cap is colored only on one side and my condenser color appears to literally be peeling off! I've already placed a customer service request and plan to just return it for a refund. It was fun while it lasted.
Went to bed thinking of placing my order for the Click&Go + PhantoM 2019 and the next day I read this lol
That’s why a never buy anything metal thats coloured, all my dynas and grinders are bare metal, I’ve seen coloured grinder look like shit over the years, they look tatty, but an iso soak and my bare metal space case is back like new as are the dynas of course:tup:.
I usually do too.
Although it's the first time I hear from a PhantoM where the paint is peeling off.

Interesting wrt the phantom 2019. Any ideas where?

Non in France (I think I bought the last one a month ago) unless with a captive cap. And the captive cap is from the latest version so doesn't match (my mate mistakenly bought one).

Can't find any in usual places. I think they have all gone if you want one with original cap.

Hope I'm wrong though.

No problems whatsoever with mine after several years use.
And the c&g is great imo. Still going after a year. Just ensure the phantom that comes with it has the og non captive cap.
Good luck.

I'm afraid it's with the captive cap... Still worth it you think for the extra 20€ ?

Take care. It's a 2020 phantom with that bundle. I have one (got it free) and I don't mind it. But I think the general consensus is it's not the best.
I think the c&g is great. Perhaps consider finding a 2019 tip/cap if available
(or titanium) and buying a stem. Lcv have some quite nice glass stems. Might be an option.

Tried it doesn’t work, I can’t heat any lower on the cap, I heat it as low as possible.

Here is the condenser that I received.

Hopefully they send you a new one cause that shouldn't happen at all.

Wouldn't I be better off with the Performance Kit from Simrell than a glass stem.
I bought the 2021 M to see if I liked it and since I do I'm probably going to buy a Revolve, MVS, Omni,... in the future so I'm not going to spend to much modifying the M of I can cool it down for now I'm already happy.
I love the look of them wooden stems they make but I'm afraid I'm not going to like the thickness of them.

I didn't go down the simrell route so others may advise.
But have you considered a revolve to go with your 21 tip/cap (edit. I see you are thinking of this.). If you also get the glass tube he offers then you have a few options to play with.
Tbh my favourites (and the issue/adventure with dv's is finding that perfect combo. It can take a bit of time/investment) are a ti tip and captive cap on a roguewaxworks glass stem and a 2019 with og cap on glass revolve.

I also have a wonderful custom jobby on ti.

But I then have another half dozen that don't get used as much but were a necessary (to me) part of the adventure.
I also love my new Omni on low temp but I got that for £40. Not sure if pay the £200 for it. So I've just upped my essentials by one to include my Omni. If I keep typing I'll include my vong, my ......... Madness I tell ya......

It really is a common story for those of us who started early. The OG Glass VC was a very interesting take on vapes for a reasonable price and was easy to buy in to, concept and cash wise. Then a nice Woody (made by Ed), less likely to break, then the all metal M tank, virtually indestructible (George liked to drive over them). Then bunches of third party guys dropped in to make their own stems and the VapCap as platform awoke. George kindly and supportively encouraged the platform even tho it took purchases away from his own store but he wanted the platform to grow.

I have 5 or 6 Ms of various vintages and colors (some never used), an early WoodyS I love, several VonGs from different time periods in different woods (including a 21), a faceted Omni, an SDS and a couple Revolves (Rainbow and Black) with a 21 VonG tip and a 21 Omni tip. While nearly any of them might get grabbed occasionally for varieties sake, the ones in regular rotation are the Revolves and various of the VonGs. I always have at least one VC in the glovebox, kind of like where my Dugout used to live when I combusted.

@RogueGuy sells coolers for much cheaper that do the same thing, great dude too

I used to have a Simrell MVS, sold it the same day I got my Revolve stem - way more airflow options and much better cooling. You can also throw on a glass body if you’re that way inclined

Yeah i know but I live in Europe and by the time it gets here it will be the same price as the Simrell or even more plus it will take a lot longer to get here.
A glass stem (which I'll probably break) is 20-25 and the Performance Kit 35 so if it cools down the vapor/stem in the meanwhile I'm a happy camper.

From the sound of things Revolve is defenitely the way to go just a shame they're unavailable till at least August.

I was picking between the new omni, revolve, and simrell mvs... I chose the MVS because of looks. Not even going to lie. I can make ANY vapcap work, might have to adjust heating a bit but it's easy enough...

I've had over a dozen before I sold everything and took a 2 year break. All if them worked well enough.

So if I can be happy with any of them, might as well pick the one that looks the best to me.

I have to check that. Just said that because i bought 2 PhantoM 19's and a PhantoM 20 the last couple of months. All at discount prices.

Not sure at all about the caps tho... I find that i can work with most caps, just a matter of getting used to them i guess. But i don't mind going over the click if that's what it takes... ;)

They are the cool way anyway...
But i think the factory seconds are still available? I love mine and i get the idea most people that have a second are quite happy...

I got one of the recent 2019 PhantoM's from George's pants and there are some minor quality issues but nothing too bad or even noticeable without really looking, and certainly nothing that affects the performance. I'm not upset they charged $100 for it, I was willing to pay because I love the 2019 M and never picked this version up. What annoys me a little bit after seeing other pictures of these PhantoM's, it's pretty clear this was a box of seconds that had been sitting for a while. I don't have an issue with that and I remember seeing on their website or somewhere these would come with discolored caps, but they should have been more honest about the condition of the rest of the parts as well – especially for $100.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment that the company has changed. The vapes are still good, but everything else they try to do is just really bad and they don't seem to understand it.

Yeah, they could have made this worthwhile. They do special run caps seasonally, why not run off a bunch of copper colored caps with the pumpkin head and sell the package for Halloween '22 for $100. Or let people choose an additional '21 colored cap of your choice? I mean, they hadn't planned to sell these '19s at all, so $100 for that plus a colored cap is like $70 you hadn't planned to make in the first place. A little thought here and there plus some respect for your customers and you can turn lemons into something more frikkin positive than a cash grab!

I can answer that question in a few words: my favorite lighter for outdoor use. It heats up the cap fast enough to minimize the risk of combustion in windy conditions.
