I'm sorry to be a broken record here but my Crafty comes today (feel like a kid on Christmas) and I want to make sure I do it right. Seems like people say use a screen rather than the liquid pad for small loads, does it matter which extra screen? Then just trim the screen so it doesn't scratch the oven and press it firmly down on the bud, correct?

First I would just load however much you want then tamp it down with the orange poker tool, see how that works before cutting any screens.

If you find the load doesn't stay put then try a screen,any screen will do, and yes either cut it smaller or as @h3rbalist said cut from the edge to the middle (making almost like a pacman shape but mouth closed if that makes sense ) then it can be pushed to make the diameter smaller.

The good news is the crafty is very noob friendly compared to some other vapes that need to be used a certain way to get good results.

Hi, ive been reading this thread for a long time and is what made me get my crafty. But i have a question, i only have 6 hours on it and last night it was in the middle of charging and just stopped. I plugged it in again the lights flashed red green and blue. Idk what to do, it will still heat up, but it wont charge now. Should i drain the battery then try to charge it? I hope my crafty isnt broken after 6 hours

Update: I let the battery run out and sit for a little. I plugged it back in and it started charging again, so i am okay now

So I just upgraded to the crafty and am enjoying it so far. I was wondering if every crafty overheats when on the maximum temperature. Mine says that the battery is too hot and to let the unit cool down. But I haven't gotten much more than a minute or two on the high setting before it starts saying that. Any help is appreciated.

try charging another 5V device (e.g. cellphone) with the supplied cable and wallwart. if it will charge your phone, you´ll know it is not the usb cable or the power adaptor. it also could be a defectice usb port on the crafty itself.

First of all, please don't talk about hiding shit from your parents it breaks this rule:

Second, you will have to hope S&B still gives you warranty service without proof of purchase. It seems they might but you never know . . .

I just talked to a repair man for S&B. They told me that the overheating popup on the app is a normal function of the crafty and nothing to be concerned about.

I was going to upgrade to Mighty but they wanted 50$ to do it and I am broke after vacation. Gonna stick with crafty. Which is good since I really do love the size. This thing is so tiny.

If you have been using the unit for a couple of bowls, or a long single bowl the safety feature will not let the crafty begin charging if the temperature of the battery is above a certain level, the more you use the crafty the higher the battery temp, especially when the battery is nearly flat anyway the battery temp will rise more so.

Apart from other non-resetting final safety features like the thermal fuse, final operation of the crafty is ruled by the resistance of the thermistor attached to the Panasonic NCR18650PF 2700mah battery inside; the potentially dangerous part of the unit. This thermistor will be linked to the control software with a warning trigger and/or high limit trigger assigned to a specific resistance relative to temperature, with high limit triggers shutting down the unit, and also preventing the unit from recharging.

I have kind-of tested this, if I separate the thermistor from the cell completely so its not affected by any heat at all I could run the crafty continuously full to flat and still plug in the charger and it will begin charging straight away.

I've said this previously, but the crafty treats it battery (temperature )like a baby. It's a bit too protective. I love that they are trying to protect us with these features but I think they could perhaps loosen up the temp limits. I mean millions of people (myself included) didn't mind putting the original Pax to their face to vape and I never heard of one exploding.. the pax used a unprotected Panasonic ( NCR18650PF 2900mah )cell right next to the heater/air path without a thermistor strapped to it & shutting down every session and a half... I know it did have a temp lock out integrated to pcb though I think.

2.07. I believe this is the newest update. It will keep letting me vape, but a little notification pops up in the app and tells me the battery temp is too high. I don't want to ruin it so I just let it cool down. I was using the highest temp to finish off a bowl and that's when it popped up. I just wouldve thought it could be used more than that.

Which S&B location did you contact? Most people have said they paid $30US or $30EU.

This hasn't been my experience. It's better if I try to cool the chamber by taking a couple draws after powering it down but I still find reheating a chamber not very enjoyable.

I just pack less if I want less and always finish the bowl.

Nice. I may not have let it cool enough. Greatest thing about these 2 vapes is that it seems there is no wrong way to enjoy them.

I'm considering buying a second( a larger) bubbler for my crafty. Right now, fc cake is my only piece of glass. and I'm exteremly happy with the combination of crafty and fc-cake. I don't even know if I should get another one or not.
I'm not a collector and therfore really picky on spending money on glasswares. Your's thoughts would be really appreciated.
I'm undecided between FC-1000 and Mothership straight fab? which one whould I pick and why?
Do I get better reults with a larger glass?

Been hitting mine through water finally, it definitely tames the vapor.

Sometimes hitting straight from the cooling unit gets you a bit more intoxicated, but the water is worth the tradeoff.

I'm hitting my Crafty driving home at 1:00 AM and I've almost puked out of the car because I was vapor choking. That never happens with the waterpipe, even when I've packed full chamber plus oil.



If you are looking for a real cheap easy way to connect your Crafty to a waterpipe:

Sandpaper, a drillbit, and a wine cork. You figure the rest out.

I got my crafty a few days back and so far I'm really disappointed. I've had the original davinci and the solo before this. A .05 bowl in the solo seems much better than a full bowl in the crafty. Can any other solo users relate to this?

It was the complete opposite experience for me.

Replaced my Solo (which was a replacement of my orginal da vinci) with a Crafty and never looked back.

The Solo was more of a session vape though. Because it eeks the vapor out in small hits (with the stock stem) a smaller amount would last longer in my Solo than slightly more in my Crafty bowl.

But I think my Crafty is 'better'.

I replaced my solo with a Mighty and found the Mighty to be a huge improvement.
