013676 and I'm not sure the housing is different. Can't take a picture atm. I'll see if I can find pics of the first run, which cost $399 from S&B.

The endless pics on google look like what I have here in hand. Maybe my original was the same. This crafty biz has muddled my mind.

I've had my crafty just over a month. Getting the red and yellow lights and it won't work. Called tech support. Their phone system is archaic. Nobody answered so I left a message. I'm assuming I'll have to send it in. Should have gotten the mighty.

Just got a used Crafty on Reddit. Doesn't come with the filling aid. I keep spilling! Scared if I order from S&B that it would get stuck on a boat since I live in Hawaii.

Can anyone here who had to mail their Crafty in for the firmware update tell me how long the turn around time was?

I think I'm going to mail it in as that is what they advised but I'd like to have it around for the 23rd (my bachelor party). I'm worried if I mail it off this week I might not see it by then.

The email from S&B makes it sound like I don't have to mail the unit in anytime soon though.

If your machine is operational, please send it to us at your convenience. Service time will be prompt.

Am I correct in interpreting that as I can mail my Crafty in today or a month from now since it is completely functional aside from the app connectivity?

Sounds like you have the rest of the warranty period to send it in. Everything I've experienced with S&B so far has impressed me.

Have any of you tried using a salt spoon to transfer material to the oven?

I've been working on a mini vape tool with a scoop on one side and an ABV stir tool on the other.

Here was my first prototype (3D printed steel) - these were tests to see which worked better for string ABV in the vape - 1 side mimics diamond teeth from a grinder, the other side was a millstone pattern (this was designed for the Nano, but can be tweaked for any size diameter).
O8KfLsX.jpg

I merged the best aspects from these two designs (and decreased the scoop size by 25%), and ordered a new prototype. My new Scoop tool should be available soon assuming prototype 2 works as well as I hope

An elegant solution to my personal needs, but one I hope to share with ya'll soon enough (3D printed plastic is cool, but it's crazy to hold 3D printed steel!)

One user, can't quite remember which, pointed out that a Doob Toob makes a excellent filler. The lid is about right for a nice load, ( less than a lid full for me. ), and then the lid can be turned around and used as a tamper like the pick is used.

I would estimate you will get 4 to 7 fills per tube. ( This is a guess, while I have some Dube Toobs, I use the standard filling tool. )

I checked the Doob Toob for fit, it actually is such a nice fit into the heating chamber that you would almost think it is made for it. I'd be careful about refilling while hot though, as this plastic is not made for this purpose.

On a personal level, I would recommend keeping several empty Doob Toobs around. ( I'm not sure of the exact brand name spelling as I pealed the plastic advertising off a long time ago. Doob tube, Dube Toob, Dube tube, etc. )

I personally use a Toob to keep my SnB cleaning brush in. Keeps the bristles nice and clean and also straight. The tubes really are a very nice all around tool to keep on hand. Versitility-wise. Should be able to pick some up at any head shop.

These look pretty great! Have you tried a scoop on one end and just a poker on the other? I use a proto pipe "poker" to stir and it helps scrape out excess and clean too.

The supplied filling tool is great, no doubt, but it is not air tight so there is a smell problem and your herb is likely to suck in some moisture if you live anywhere humid or damp. This was very annoying to discover that a bunch of my perfectly cured bud was practically wet when I went to fill up the old crafty (i still vaped it up!). I think S&B should just combine their current grinder and filling tool into a kind of 4 piece type grinder/storage tub. Only the tooling for the bottom piece of the grinder would have to be changed to achieve this.

Don't waste time trying to call. Make a copy of your receipt, describe problem, keep the top piece and put the base in the box, mail it to Oakland. 2 days there, 1 day turnaround, 2 days back, and Bob's your fucking uncle.

I have no idea where 'and Bob's your uncle' comes from, British? Not even sure what it means.
South Park add-on, mine. Pinch under the oil pad just now, several good clouds.

Wootze I was just going to ask you about this. Did you receive any notification email? phone call? whatsoever.

This is so strange to me that a company is practically impossible to contact, yet at the same time people like yourself have not a bad thing to say about the quality/speed of their repairs/returns department.

They're on point, and at the same time you can never contact them. Sounds like your typical college weed dealer.

Do they at any point contact you?

Because it's sounding like some stealthy rogue operation, yet they'll ultimately deliver the goods.

Whoa, it's a miracle I just made contact with Storz and Bickel. Call the number, immediately press 0#.

I'm being issued a brand new unit. Priority mail. Today. Wootze. You're a no B.S. type of person. This is a no B.S. repairs dept apparently. I feel like my package got picked up by "the wolf man" in Pulp Fiction.

Highly recommend this one.
although i might had wished to have bought the mighty because of the double power-capacity
the outcome is highly effective and it is not difficult to clean if you do it regulary.
and its not true that they do not reply. had an answer within 24 hours and a complimentary ups-pick up because this (one of the first) products won´t work with the samsung s6 anymore. they replaced it with a full set.
would not only recommend them only for their CRM but also for the quality of their products.
although their prices are high but i guess its worth it

kind regards from austria

As a side note, microwaving a small dish full of rubbing alcohol for 25 seconds and soaking the plastic parts for 5 minutes works well when cleaning your Crafty.

What benefit does microwaving have? I just have my ISO in a glass jar that I dump the plastic pieces in. 20mins then a rinse with hot water and done. No microwave oven required.

To the ones that have these lollipop problems - in the state where the connection freezes - can you still write settings? I cannot reproduce the problem - perhaps my firmware is just too new. Perhaps just the notifications are broken - then i could implement polling as a workaround ..

For those of you in the U.S. Ordering directly from S&B what are your serial numbers?

It adds energy to the cleaning process thus cleaning more quickly and aggressively.

Better don't do this. There are other, safer ways to warm up explosives than a microwave. And safer ways to clean a CU.

At no point can I get in to do anything. I open the app and immediately get an error message that says "Problem Report. A problem with this App was detected.......press Ok to report, no to ignore etc" (the app is still visible but is behind the pop up) then after a few seconds or less the App will completely shut down and then I get a different error message saying "Unfortunately, Vaporizer Control Crafty has stopped."

In the split second between the first error message and the app closing I get a glimpse of the app screen and all the values are question marks.

Hope this helps you a bit. I'm missing the battery percentage indicator. Thanks for your hard work.
