Hey all! For some time now I've been looking for a smell proof, skinny/slim fit case or pouch for my Crafty. It should be as small as possible to fit my jeans' front pocket like Crafty fits just by itself w/ the cooling unit attached.

So far the cases I've found are either too wide or too deep. Any help?

All questions should be so easy! Get the small RYOT PackRatz. I think it's exactly what you're looking for. Fits like a glove.

Thanks for the reply! I Googled it and thought it could be even more snug fit? Or does it just look like there's a bit of an extra room because of the removable pocket & pics with Pax in it?

I use it for my Crafty and there's a little room for some flat extra tools (I keep a poker, salt spoon, and the S&B brush), but not room for much else.

I'd be surprised if you can find a better fitting smell proof case. But it is definitely more than just a skin over the Crafty.

Hope this helps.

Yup, gonna order one as it seems to be the best option so far. Thanks for your help!

So, last Thursday I sent my 2nd Crafty back to S&B. Recall that I got my original unit replaced during month 23 of the 2 year warranty. Got the new unit in December and had 7 hours on it when it died.

Yesterday, I got an e-mail that my unit had been repaired or replaced and I'll have it Friday. Amazing, really... in terms of speed of return AND just the fact that they replaced a warranty unit after the original warranty had expired. Works for me. This one was a good investment.

@Mr Mellish yes their service is very good. Even with the price drop to $279 the Crafty is still at a premium but worth it to me. The biggest nuisance is having to draw often or hit the power button to keep it on for a session. I tend to rush the sessions because of limited battery life. I'm getting a Solo2 for when I want to relax and draw less often.

Nothing in this post is mine, I'm just gathering infos ;)
Back in the days when I had a Crafty, I soldered it directly after unboxing it!

Surprising that S&B still haven't reacted to this ..
a simple plug instead of that push/fit would greatly reduce RMAs in my opinion ..
and greatly improve user experience ..!

@Joaon you nailed it! I even disable the vibrate function on my Craftys in the hope they will survive longer.

re going out using with battery/powerbank

normally id vape the first capsule
and only then then put it on the powerbank

- battery after first bowl ~80%

took me a while to realise that

if i plugged it into the powerbank before i started that first heat up
the powerbank would then bear the brunt of first energy drain

- battery after first bowl ~90%

so battery is then ~10% fuller than it would have been

fuller battery gives better heat up times
which i find useful in public places

so its the timing of when you connect to start recharging
(..and if you dont mind using it plugged in)

hope that makes sense

Hi fellas! :wave:My Crafty reached 260 hours with original battery! Still 3 sessions on 180/195°C. Vape on!

How in the world is that even possible? What is your heatup time from 20c to 180c? That's impressive, but i've owned about 7 or 8 of these babies, and they all went downhill after about 30 hours or so. And when I say downhill, I mean the startup time started to become absurd in the neighbourhood of 3 mins and more. And maintaining temperature was a struggle...basically just SLOW SLOW SLOW. My usage would be 190/210. And I would charge it when it was still warm.

Guess the Crafty isn't right for a heavy user like me, same with the Grasshopper sadly, which is why replaced my Crafty/Mighty. Now I feel like i'm going backwards to the Solo 2, but what can ya do.

I've also been reading alot on reddit, and someone took a tour of the S&B facility or some shit, might be a rumour, but not much info was released other than S&B are working and admitted to something new, rumoured to be the Crafty 2. It doesn't seem impossible to me, as it's been their thorn more than the Mighty.

And even though i've owned more than a 1/2 dozen Crafty's and 1/2 dozen Mighty's, not a single one had to ever be RMA'ed, and I USE my devices hard... never broken plastic ribs or bowls or anything.

Impressive man! But I can't even believe how dead this thread is! What gives?

How's yours holding up @JCat ? I still plan on buying one for the summer, as I don't think there currently exists anything better for quality and stealth ATM. I can't include the GH for obvious reasons. But the Crafty reliability must have skyrocketed?

Also dude, what's the status on your battery replacement program? :brow: That would change the game right there if I could just pop a new cell in every 30 hours or so!

Heat up time from 21 to 180°C 2:29 min.! Maybe the thread is dead cause the Crafty makes less problems now!?

Dude, that's incredible! I would be very happy with that with your amount of hours!

You should be the poster child for how to maintain, use, and charge your Crafty for maximum longevity!

Even if it has less problems now, I think it's more to do with how expensive it is, same with the Mighty and other expensive vapes....the busiest threads on this forum are the vapes that cost the least ie. Solo, Vapcap, etc. The initial rush and excitement has faded, but I think just overall this forum is alot slower than in the past. Even the new Solo 2 thread isn't taking off like I thought it would.

Or, i'm wrong, and everything has already been said in this thread so perhaps not much new to add?

Anyone had the issue of the crafty very often going into akku temperature (red/blue) error? My 3rd crafty is recently doing this really often recently - very annoying :-(

Temp sensor on the battery I believe is a potential culprit.

Yea - also thought so. Trying a new RMA - hope it works out despite the fact I am over the 2 years now .. But the last (3rd) crafty was only lasting <2 months :-(

I really hope there will be no charge - also not sure if I would pay it if there is one ..
Less than 2 months working is really bad and the performance of the 3rd was also really bad (most of the time only 2 sessions ..)

How many hours did you have on each? I didn't think performance was ever an issue unless you logged a bunch of hours on it, usually they work, and then just don't.

the 3rd one is at 65h now - the others failed >100 with red/orange - never had the red/blue before ..

Well the 65h explains your 2 sessions/battery - normal. And the others >100 is pretty decent usage IMO, most people pray for it to break after that in order to get a brand new Crafty. I wouldn't be complaining myself. Randy from Puffitup did say they typically go around 90-110 hours or so.

If that's not good enough, then if you get sent a new one, just sell it, i'll buy it off you.
