Mine is firmware 2.08 - is there any good reason to send it in for firmware upgrade?

As long as your crafty pairs with your phone correctly, and functions correctly, I would use it. No need to fix something that isn't broken. If you send it in and it comes back and refuses to pair with your phone . . . well that would suck.

I joined the party this week. US order w/ serial number CY51G*** edit: ordered direct from S&B

Firmware 2.10. Heat up time is around 100 seconds.

My other vapes are a Firefly 2 of a few months and a Volcano of 8 years (basically all I've used since besides a handful of rolled combustibles and an iolite that functioned for a little while when away from home).

I got into portables lately because I wanted something on the go. I never loved the iolite, so I always assumed portables were just ok at best. I debated heavily between the FF2 and the Crafty but ultimately thought the FF2 was better for my portable use and I was correct. Once I experienced how strong the FF2 is, I decided I wanted to go all portables and stash the Volcano away for special occasions. As much as I love it, I'm no longer interested in having a vape as a focal point in my living room. haha

Not going to do a full review until maybe I've put some miles on it. I am very impressed, though. The thing is a beast in a very small package. There was a bit of a new vape smell that was oddly identical to a new car smell, but that seems to be clearing up. I also had to take off my smart watch and go into my closet to pair the thing to my phone, but we are all good now. I love the interface to the mobile app (at least the screen with the controls, the rest looks dated). Its so responsive just like an interface directly on the device. Color me impressed.

My plan is to do all capsules. Part of my reason for adding this to supplement the FF2 was that I wanted something that was good to session and relax without needing to stir and dump and refill. If I want to go another round, I just want to swap out a pre-packed can and go to town. This hasn't happened yet because the crafty punches pretty hard and I'm a relative lightweight. Instead, I'm finding that I can actually end a session without much waste by opening and dumping the capsule out when I'm done. The few times I've done it, I got a great follow up session later with the same capsule. Anyone else doing this?

I do plan to run this thing daily and if that means needing a second one or a mighty when my current one needs to be serviced, I'm ok with that. I know opening it hot isn't the best thing for it either, but I'm going to use it like I want to use it. Fingers crossed.

Thanks to FC, my collection grew from "just" a Volcano to add a FF2, Crafty and OmniVap (on order)! I know none of you will believe me, but I think I'm good for a while.

Rather than drop out the hot capsule for a second session later, why not half pack a capsule and use a capsule liquid pad as a spacer?

(Only downside being that you would need to carry more capsules).

Sounds like a great option. Do you think the liquid pad is necessary? It wasn't really my intention, but I was sufficiently faded and still had plenty of hits left, so I just gave it a shot.

8 full capsules could probably get me through a week, so a bunch of half-filled wouldn't be an issue.

I love the attention to detail with the crafty and its accessories. The capsule case can be used as a clamp to remove capsule lids (I learned that here) and can be used as a funnel when filling capsules or other containers. I love having less stuff, so anything multi-function is cool with me.

The times that I do go solo I always use 1/3 full and the liquid pad ontop.
I tried 2x without it and I don't think it performed as well (but it still worked).

S&B actually advise you to use the liquid pad for partially filled loads (see the instruction manual).

Personally, I'm not a fan of the pad as a spacer. Too cumbersome, it comes apart, a little messier than using a screen.... I find a screen with a wedge cut out (so it looks like pac man) works great as a spacer. Much easier and cleaner than the pad, serves its primary function (as a spacer) and helps keep the cu clean. Give it a try!

S&B has been very good at honoring warranties even if the unit is purchased second hand and there is no proof of purchase. E-bay has not been a problem from what I have read here. It seems as long as you have a genuine unit with a good serial# they will do warranty work. The only thing on E-bay is you want to make sure you are getting a real Crafty, not a knock off, and a new one that hasn't been used.

Although the knock-off threads here address the Mighty we can take a few cues from this. First make sure the hologram is on top of the cooling unit with the Crafty logo. Second, make sure the o-rings are the proper color. Third, get the serial# of the unit you wish to purchase and call S&B to find out if its real or not. The unit should have the proper factory "sticker" on it with this info. Get as many pics as you can of the box and accessories and make sure you are getting a factory sealed unit that has everything in it.

I purchased my mighty from eBay and have been very happy, I emailed the seller first asking when they received their order from s&b to ensure it was the latest version. For crafty you can message and ask them if they have the latest firmware on them.

Although the knock-off threads here address the Mighty we can take a few cues from this. First make sure the hologram is on top of the cooling unit with the Crafty logo. Second, make sure the o-rings are the proper color.

I bought a Mighty direct from s&b. The o-rings on the vape look like o-rings that have been associated with the counterfeit/fakes, but the spare parts I ordered are the lighter/softer looking blue color. I read somewhere that S&B is using different colored o-rings now.

Yes that is true. I was only giving some basic guidelines as to what we have seen as far as regular and counterfeit units. If you wish to write the be-all end-all Crafty/Mighty knock-off thread be my guest.

Was expecting to pay $70 battery replacement fee, but they sent me a new unit. Do you folks suppose S&B use the onboard stored data and run the numbers (hours, age, charge cycles, etc?) to determine if a unit merits a fee charged or not? My unit was still working, but vibration was intermittent and warmup times were suddenly slowing down. Applied for RMA at 77 hours, one year old.

After removing lid, if it doesn't empty easily, use that lid with a scooping motion into the stuck ABV puck -- disrupts/dislodges enough to then tap and blow out.

I agree, their recent rma process is way better than before!
For your battery, S&B can effectively see onboard's data, number of cycle, higher temperature etc etc but if you are an EU(or Australian folks) resident, battery are covered by the warranty.
But for US citizen battery are wear and tear and not covered, although it seems to have a 80 hours limit for replacing the battery under warranty for US citizen (not sure about that but I read it here, s&b doesn't reply to that question in my mail).

Just a ziplock bag with iso, dunked in very hot water. I cheat and use one of those instant hot water taps - you can see it in the sink. When taking bag out to shake and swish around, be careful how you hold the bag; the iso in ziplock is hot. 5-10 min is fine.

Ziegfeld took over directorial duties for the final drying scene.

If you don't care about reclaiming, and want an easy to clean vape, the Crafty seems pretty easy to me. Suggestion: Use capsules and buy extra CU's for weekly rotation. Group bath time once a month or so, Japanese style.

Holy crap. Just used my new crafty for the first time and got stupid on 4 hits compared to like 12-14 on the arizer air which was way harsher. I currently own the solo, air, firefly, herbal aire, and have tried the pax and ascent. I just used it once but it's amazing. I got tired of the feeling of having to suck a milkshake threw a straw with the air/solo. Worth every penny so far and I can deal with the battery/warranty issues later that I have read so much about

Also it is way lighter then I expected. Kind of feels cheap but as long as it performs like it did the first time no complaints here

Today before taking my second draw, I saw a yellow light blink before my eyes then instantly switched to green meaning ready & i had a nice lovely session.

I can't wait for this unit to give up. I got 30 hours already in -2 months & I am really waiting to get it replaced for a mighty. Battery is just sad.

Anyways, I tested it afterwards, had 2 more sessions and no yellow light. Working excellent and producing great vapor.

I am starting to become upset it won't give up anytime soon.

I had the same impression of the lightness. The device does feel plasticky, because, well, its made of plastic. That's the one thing I don't like about it: the feel and taste of plastic. I'd especially appreciate some reinforcement around the wear point on the body (where the CU attaches). I knew this going in and it was the main point of deliberation between the crafty and the haze v3. I still ultimately wanted the crafty a little more.

Once you get in a session, that kind of thinking goes away for a while. hahah

After a week, I have no problem finishing a capsule on my own. The first hybrid I was sampling was pretty intense.

I really really like this little powerhouse.

Ok so ive tried going through all the pages here to find answers to my questions, but im still only at page. 94 after spending so many hours reading and reading, and I need a quick answer so forgive me if this has been asked before.

1) My Crafty seems to be charging very slow with my Samsung charger (maybe 4 hours or so). The Samsung charger says output: 5.0V = 0.7A. Can I get a more powerful charger which will get the job done faster?

2) I need a Powerbank. Does all powerbanks work with the Crafty? If you have any suggestions it would be great - I dont need a huge one, just a few recharges would be great. But page 94 is like 1½ year old so a lot could've happened since.

3) Cleaning. Using alcohol, is this safe to vape?
