@grokit ahaha :D Thanks ( Sarcasm or not :D);) I suspected as much, but wasn't sure if the body is made of plastic or aluminum and design wise I'm pretty sure that they could have gone with a sleekier look.

Batt life is like 8 bowls on a full charge. Heat up time is like 70-80 sec. It heats up faster when turned on after the auto shutoff turns the unit off. I'm interested in finding out what the batt life is like on the Mighty
It's very small after all! Wow!!! If it doesn't need stirring I am starting to raise money!! At last it's done right!

I hope your chart is correct. The size of the Mighty is a deal breaker for me. But I also saw the power difference as a deal breaker for the Crafty. If the two are as similar as stated on the chart you found, then I may pull the trigger on the Crafty. I'm going to contact S&B and hopefully clear this up.

Any luck getting a response from S&B?

In the manuals, the power consumptions are 36W and 10W, but listed as 30W and 27W on the linked chart. That's a MASSIVE difference.

Can't wait to see some comparisons between the Crafty and Mighty. If the Crafty can perform similarly to the Mighty (as the chart suggests), it might be the one for me.

The fact that it has a USB charger is actually pretty important to me. Having one of those USB battery packs suddenly means running out of power isn't a problem.

However, if the Crafty is only 10W, that would definitely push me back towards the Mighty. I want some massive hits, something that doesn't make me miss my EVO when I'm on the road. And seeing the clouds posted in the Mighty thread, it might be the one for the job.

Still trying to figure out what advantages this has over a solo

pros
- better airflow
- has a neat app
- can be used in pass-through mode without additional accessories

cons
- higher price
- less battery life (may or may not be relevant depending on device efficiency)
- can't adjust power without additional accessories (not included)

if anyone can help me fill out the pros so I can convince myself this is a great buy, that would be appreciated.

Well you can adjust the temp. You have two preset temps. You just can't change the presets with the vape alone.

A great buy would have to include 'good value for the money'. You won't find Consumer Reports giving a 'best buy' to the highest priced product in their ratings chart. So IMO the only way this model could conceivably be called a great buy would be in comparison to the even more expensive Mighty. Even that's a real stretch. It's sure to be a good, reliable performer, with good resale value, so buy it if you really want it and can afford it, but a great buy it's not.

What I want to know is what the difference in vapor quality is between these two new s&b devices, if any.
What's your definition of vapor quality? That's a broad term that IMO either doesn't apply or is better defined with another term, like vapor density, etc. If you do it right (and get lucky), the simplest homemade vape can produce vapor that's indistinguishable from the vapor produced by any other vape you can buy, at any price.

All I wanna know is if they hit the same or not, geez why you gotta make it so complicated :hmm:

Well it looks like the battery "should" be user replaceable if those 2 screws are any indication.

When you change the temp with the app, does it remain at that temp after it turns off / back on? Or does it revert to the default temperatures when it's turned on again?

No response yet, but I'll definitely post here once they get back to me. I asked questions regarding battery times, power consumption, and vapor quality (quality as defined by Merriam-Webster: something that can be noticed as a part of a thing," which would include density, taste, smoothness, and any other defining characteristic) so hopefully they'll have all the answers.

It seems to be pretty well thought out so I would bet on the former.

I like both these new vapes, if this little guy can keep up with its big brother it sounds like a winner. The app sounds like fun, this could be a good excuse to boot up my old android mini-tablet. I would think that the usb port is for charging, while bluetooth is used for the settings.

I would think/hope the bluetooth can be turned off for battery savings, which is a very good reason to have a desktop app so we could update the settings while charging via usb. Does anybody know if an android tablet can change settings through the usb port or is it only through bluetooth?

"The CRAFTY App is compatible with iPhone 4S and its successors as well with Samsung Galaxy S3 and subsequent Galaxy models, or with the HTC One M8 for example. In the case of other Android smartphones, please note that the App is only suitable for smartphones that are fitted with a Bluetooth Low Energy chip whose functions are integrated into Android by the respective manufacturer and used in the hardware. A software update may be necessary for some models in order to use the CRAFTY App."

This review says that the flavor is on par with the Firefly... AND the Volcano?

Maybe it's just a difference in taste buds, but I found a pretty huge discrepency between the flavor given off by those two vapes. To me, that would make it on par with a whole lot of other vapes that are, IMO, not nearly as good or "pure" as the flavor that comes out of my FF.

Also, if this is using a mixture of conduction and convection, I'm not sure how that's going to be on par with the Firefly. Unless you like that conductive roasted flavor.

I'm as curious about this one as the next vaporist, but... I find this bit... interesting.

Can't judge it until you try it, yeah yeah. But... still.

Interesting, not a specific bluetooth version but a special dedicated chip. I think my tablet is a galaxy tab plus and my android phone is pretty new so good chance.

Perhaps this is the issue with ios, rather than app store approval. Now we need to find out if/which apple ios devices have this particular bluetooth chip.

I wonder if it works with iPhone 4 as well...

EDIT: BUMMER! From Wikipedia:

"Integration of Bluetooth Smart with version 4.0 of the Core Specification was completed in early 2010.[12] The first smartphone to implement the 4.0 specification was the iPhone 4S, released in October 2011.[13] A number of other manufacturers released Bluetooth Smart Ready devices in 2012."

So to get a Crafty I need a new phone... Or get the huge Mighty where I can set the temp on spot... :ugh:
