Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
These dosing capsules suck, I pushed one together and it will not come apart now. Tried the different suggestions in here but it won't budge.

Edit, destroyed that one. Bent the shit out of it, are they not supposed to be closed all the way?

Pust the cap (lid first) into the basket tightly so it's held in place firmly by the basket. Now lever the cap away from the basket.

Hey presto! Cap comes away and the lid stays right where it is.

Also doing this re shapes your cap and makes it round again. If you've bent it by not using this method of opening.

I'm really having no issues, even with a sticky resin covered lid.

The more I use these caps the more I like them.

Still have the original set of eight and they are working fine, won't need to replace any for a while.

I just hit 50 hours of use with my Crafty.

From my experience, this is a really good device. The only downside I did not expected was the impossibility to use it while plugged (or rather the fact that plugging it while using it won't compensate at all for the battery loss).

This means that if I want to charge it (and considering poor battery life, you will want your Crafty to be charged), the I have to wait for it to cool after each use. And of course because I'm stoned once it has cooled, I forget to charge it 99% of time.

In my personal opinion, this is quite frustrating as it leaves me often short on battery life and it often abandons me when I need it the most.

All of that could be advoided if the Crafty could be used while pluged on sector (and effectively charging). But I guess this is a normal downside regarding it charges on an USB cable (so low power) and not on a sector plug. My 1st experience with a vaporizer was with a NO2 Vapir: you can use this device on sector with no problem, but hey this is a tradeoff from stealthness.

One of my friends just bought a Mighty, I think I will buy it the day my Crafty will be broken, because battery issues is the only problem I had with Crafty, and you don't suffer those problems with its brother, the Mighty. (by the way the Mighty is at 292€ on S&B website due to the absence of tax because we live in Switzerland so I guess german taxes don't apply, sick price!)

The best scenario would be a failure of your Crafty and then warranty coverage. At that point, they allow a warranty upgrade to Mighty, usually for the difference in list price between the two.
Mighty is far more robust. I understand the size/stealth thing (that's why I have a Pax2) and I've had Crafty's. Crafty could not charge fast enough to keep up with use. I was always putting on charge so I'd be ready for, whatever...

I've seen a couple posts recommending using isopropanol to clean the cooling unit, though I noticed in the instructions it specifies ethanol. I was planning on using iso, has anyone had any issues doing that?
96% Ethanol works fantastically and you can use it for reclaim.
I use POLISH (Spirytus Luksusowy) Pure Spirits. Its amazingly clean. $20-25 for 1000ml at JONS market Los Angeles.

Lovin' capsules so much, think I'll get an LS-10.

Capsules themselves are fun, easy and fumble free.

I was a klutz with the capsule holder magazine, though.
While fishing magazine out of pocket, must have unscrewed lid.
Yup. All eight soldiers spilled on lawn.
Luckily, no pets or children in yard, just my friend's wife.
"Oh, these are dosage capsules for my inhaler, just for emergencies."

So, be mindful as you handle the magazine.

Phil & Friends did sweet covers of "Dear Mr. Fantasy" and "A Whiter Shade of Pale" earlier tonight.

from mighty medic instructions

dosing capsules (or DCs someone posted) are reusable
'as long as they are not damaged (distorted damaged or brought out of shape elsewise'

Capsules are deceptively hardy. Been using same eight capsules for almost two weeks. Each one gets opened and closed to fill and empty twice a day.

If you choose to open capsules by hand like I suggested on prior page, a few additional comments:
Remember that your left finger and thumb hold the capsule in place, sort of a fulcrum for the leveraged lid pry. With practice you will feel the lid give way -- that's when you should ease up on the holding pressure from your left thumb. If you don't feel it give way on first pry, do NOT pry, pry again. Bad spot to pry, so rotate capsule and try again. Avoid sweaty fingers. Thumb can slip, reflex is to squeeze. No big deal, bend/shape it back.

So I'm doing some camping in Washington state this summer & definitely wanna bring my crafty given the legal situation out there. I'm considering buying the power bank from S&B, is there anything unique about it or would any old power bank do? I haven't done a lot of pricing of them yet so dunno if S&B's is a good deal but I'd guess it's probably a premium price.

Oh, & loading a little pot in the chamber then putting the liquid pad with live resin smeared on top (resin side down) is crazy tasty & very effective, btw. And having the liquid pad there prevents abv from getting into the cooling unit, which is nice.

Long time lurker here. Purchased the Crafty over the weekend, been putting it through its paces ( 5 hours so far ;) ) Just thought I'd say I'm loving it so far, gettting about 6 bowls per charge and it's hitting the same as my Mighty would. Love the size, long may it last.

The S&B battery pack will charge Crafty about two times, as I recall. Is your camping trip brief?
Consider one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I9HGMY...lid=2BFBAWGSBUTSZ&coliid=I2K99D1P9MNC1X&psc=1

Many charges for Crafty, depending on which unit you get, and it can jump-start your car!
Note that the XP-1 and XP-10 also have 12 v. port and correct wire included to charge Mighty.
They all have a built in flashlight.

Crew Slut...
Quick question, is there any way to play with settings when the app doesnt work on any of your android devices that run marshmallow?

Last I recall it working was KitKat so I kinda gave up on my crafty and relegated it to the drawer many months ago.

Thanks! I'll only be camping for 3 nights, & will likely have intermittent access to electricity. That's a crazy power bank! Not sure if it'll be in the budget but will definitely keep that in mind. Thanks again!

Just be careful not to use your usb port, or power button because having been defined by b & s america as "wear and tear" parts, they specifically aren't covered by the north american warranty. Good luck.

@grokit did they send you back the faulty unit?
My charge port was loose and eventually stopped working, had about 80hrs. Now storz bickel want 129 Euros as it's not repairable. It's already cost £18 to post to germany :(

It's rare to hear bad cs experiences with Germany S&B. One member got a new replacement for a piece he bought used on ebay that smelled/tasted bad!
Did you make request for RMA before sending it in? In US, I got a pre-paid mail label after filling out the online form and getting the "RMA approval" based, I guess, on what I told them was the problem -a faulty charger or charge plug receptacle on Mighty.
I suggest politely asking them what will be replaced, i.e. exactly what you will get in return, and if a new warranty term will begin. New replacement piece with new warranty term would be the only circumstance under which I would even consider paying this very high fee, and that would be after trying to negotiate it down with a customer loyalty argument (as opposed to cursing them out).

I phoned amazon and explained everything, they are going to handle it from here and S&B have said they will send my crafty back to me tomorrow, then I'm dropping it off at a click point in my area. Should have done this first instead of RMA I would have had a refund or replacement by now if I did! It's been way more than 30 days and amazon are still gonna sort it :)

S&B Germany tech support said that my charge port was physically impacted and not covered by the warranty at all. When it started playing up I did wiggle the cable and hold it in position to get it to charge, was never rough with it. I should have said it smelled and tasted bad too! I've only had it a couple of months anyway and the warranty hasn't helped, I may have been able to knock it down from 130 Euro if I pushed.. Maybe the different style charge port on the mighty is covered but not the craftys micro usb? I was in two minds for months before I got the crafty!, knew I should have got the Might

What a hassle, as we used to say.
Did you by Crafty on Amazoncom? In UK? And they are going to handle a warranty return/exchange that will be a different result? You were able to speak with Amazon on the phone? Sorry for all the ???? but I'm surprised by all this!
Best of luck and, btw
Welcome!

Welcome!

Thanks man! Yeah amazon uk, it was £195 new. They said they would handle it and should able to refund me when they receive the item but I guess they have to inspect it first. I went on amazon returns and clicked call me spoke to someone and they sent me a return label like 5 min later. I was surprised too! Really quick and easy.
I wonder if S&B will send me back the unit after it's been opened up..
