Anyone else here scrape the oils inside their cooling unit? I tried putting those sticky oil stuff on my oil pad and got monster hits out of them. I tried it with 1/3 bud load for taste and an oil pad on top, got about 27 hits and was still running before I gave up.

Now I can make this Crafty a party vape with a load like that. I was heavy facemelting too after that 27 hitter.

both perform the same (I don't have a mighty but others have confirmed this)

either way performance is the same so its more about how it will be used.

Having owned both the Crafty and Mighty, I would have to say that they perform slightly different. It's also been said before (due to the Mighty's slightly more powerful heater, and extra battery) that the Mighty has just a touch more power than is noticeable IMO. It's night and day after about 30 hours of use or so.... the Crafty can barely sometimes even keep up to my strong pulls, where the Mighty doesn't even break a sweat. Furthermore, once the Crafty battery is at 1/2 or less, the performance drops even more, and the battery/heater struggle to bring up the temp, and even pauses for a bit before it starts to climb. Never seen that with my Mighty unless it was right dead.

There is definitely a performance difference between the Crafty and Mighty IME. Just my opinion and 2 cents based on 35 hours experience with the Crafty, and over one hundred with the Mighty.

TLDR: DO NOT USE UPS IF YOU LIKE PRIVACY

Background: my crafty died ( had & loved it since march ) - got the yellow/red blinking - organized a pick up with S&B - UPS attached this to the door to the street - I am pretty sure somebody was at home - and everyone on the street could read my full name and that I have business with S&B
Better send your device in when you like privacy!

Btw: this also means I cannot test my android-crafty app with old firmwares anymore - will most likely get a new device with new firmware from what I read here - please contact me if you use the app with old firmware and there are any problems.

Well, my 4th replacement Crafty only lasted 44 days. It died Saturday evening, the power button no longer works. The unit is more than 60% charged and the power button no longer has the spring like feed back. I am now waiting for S&B to send me a shipping label. This will be my 5th Crafty in about a year. Reliability is certainly not one of the Crafty's traits, but when it works, it works very well. :science: On another note, I have collected a lifetime supply of Crafty o-rings, cooling units, orange acrylic grinder, etc.... All courtesy of S&B's unreliability :brow:

The ratio of problems with relatively new units looks like it has not gone down. Do you think that today is more reliable the Mighty?

I've already burned four Herbalaires and a Summit. For the last HA i'm still expecting an answer from two weeks ago, the summit died last Friday.

I'm tired of having to stay without vaporize because of defective devices and thinking to buying a durable equipment (desktop + Portable); but I think it will not be the case of Crafty.

Sounds like you need some butane power in your life...durable, reliable, powerful, no electronics to fail, no charge time and no heat up time.

My favourites are Daisy, lotus and Vapman.

I think every Vaper needs a desktop vape. I can recommend the Volcano. Three years...no problems!

My package from SB Germany said "Crafty Vaporizer" on the package, uh that is very annoying..

Hello, I'm on my way of choosing a vaporizer, as i can see from this thread (and from other resources) the devices are dying randomly (some after 30 hours of use and some after 150 hours of use) S&B looks like to be Ok with replacing them, but still i wonder if crafty can be considered a stable device to buy in a country without S&B support? sending a device back to Germany every couple of month may be annoying?

Thank you!

Yes, it may. Tough choice. Even tougher if you are more than a casual user. People here often talk of having a backup vape to use when Crafty is in transit.

Maybe consider a somewhat more robust Mighty? Or something even more solid may suit you better, depending on where you are on the planet.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, you are right the choice is a bit tough, i was impressed by the review of the vapor quality (cause this is what i'm looking for), and was almost nailed that this is the device i will get, but than i started to read more and more complaints and was a bit disappointed, i'm planning to use it about 1-2 sessions a week but still. And what makes mighty more solid device? As far as i understand they are of almost the same technology?

From fc, there seems to be more warranty claims with the Crafty. Having said that (and keeping my fingers crossed), I haven't had any problems with mine. The main difference is size and battery life (because that Mighty has two batteries). That apparently makes the Mighty heat up a little faster and maintain its temperature better. But the Crafty is still a better fit for me.

Apart from warranty concerns, I agree with @vapviking about having a 2nd vape. It's nice to have a backup and fun to switch off.

@_boo Welcome to FC! With only 1-2 sessions/week I wouldn't worry about the longevity of the Crafty. If you don't NEED the extra small stealth, go with the Mighty. But if you are taking it in your pants pocket or jacket pocket and need more discretion, and don't mind the approx. 3-4 bowl battery life, then get the Crafty!

Would also be interested in this - was sending mine in last week and was hoping to get it back this week - but this does not sound too good - what error did you have?

So I went with a crafty from a fellow user
Are newer models still plagued with reliability problems?
How to make my crafty last as long as possible?
How does warranty within the u.s work? How's the customer service?
Best c.s experience I've had yet is my indica which was replaced Bo issues super fast and very polite service
Will my experience with s &b be similar if something does happen?

Hello, im new here but read many informative discussions about the crafty from you.
Thanks for that, now ive got one! :)

But my question: Is it normal that the temperature (in app) is never under 30°c/80°f in off mode after 1h ?

Thanks!

This is the temperature of your surroundings. Whatever the ambient temperature of your location the crafty will read that temperature.

Are newer models still plagued with reliability problems?

Newer models have a better chance of resisting the housing cracking but overall there are reports of the same issuses from initial release.

How to make my crafty last as long as possible
Take care of it!! Be careful!! Dont let your careless friends ever take your cu off or on. The crafty is expensive so treat it like a Porsche not a Pinto!!

How does warranty within the u.s work? How's the customer service?
For any warranty issues just follow their directions on the website and they will take care of you.

Thank you! Well, i don't really care about the stealthiness or battery life, as this is for personal home/may be some time out of home use (that's why i want the portable one), what i do care is the quality and reliability. What i do know is that i want a convection vape.
I know some of you have experience with different types and brands of vaporizers, so thank you for your help!

I'll be in Amsterdam in a month, and will be picking up one, still hesitating, because of these reliability issues. I also considering a firefly(i see that some of you had some experience with it as well, i know its not a firefly thread) but still how would you compare the quality and reliability of firefly with crafty/mighty?

Also i see that there is a 14/18 mm water adapter for the cfrafty/mighty, so it can be used with the bubbler, can you comment on this?

Hi everyone. I just got a Crafty vaporizer (first vaporizer for me) and after 2 sessions I am a bit disappointed.
For the sessions I used an (almost) full oven of Lemon Haze. After the sessions I was barely or not high at all, I normally use less stuff in a normal joint and get more high than this. My temperatures were 190°C (374°F) and a boost temp of 200°C (392°F) that I set at the end of the session. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

How was the quality of the bud? Were you using the Crafty with 2 bars or less?

Did you use the SnB grinder? Did you use the orange tool to push down the load to pack it tighter?

Well even if you answered no on all of my question, it should still make you abit high. Not "barely or not high at all"

Did your unit even get hot at all? Any blockage or resistance on the mouthpiece?
