My replacement crafty is at 40 hours first went until 63 hours I wonder how many replacements S&B anticipates on each sale.

Guys, this is exactly the issue I used to have daily on 2.05. On 2.06 I haven't overheated my unit even once. Even better, I did actually, but only after I finished my session and pluged Crafty for charging I noticed red/blue flashing. If I disconnect, and reconnect it charges while flashing only blue. Even then it turns on like normal and is fully operational. I vape alone and with friends, this issue USED to really bother me. Back then my unit would require about 15 minute cooldown period, while doing random vibrations 3 times. Lol...

But now it's flawless, unless casing goes to hell AGAIN :/ I wish for a titanium lock embed in plastic...

My email to S&B regarding 2.07 changelog remains ignored. Usually they reply within 24 hours.

you described my issue exactly (I had the 2.05)!!! I hope the issue gets resolved. Like I said, they have my unit now and I've heard nothing from s & b yet (been over a week).

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Today I recieved my replacement crafty, firmware 2.07. The power adapter is different and the crafty itself feels like it changed a bit. Can't compare it with the old one but I hope they solved some problems.

It seems to me that the new charger works faster. But then it also heats up faster (probably due to new battery). Like you I have a sense of it being somehow different, but don't have the original to compare with.

I'm starting to get an inferiority complex regarding my 2.05 firmware :ugh::(:ko:

I do think it's a drawback that you can't upgrade firmware via BlueTooth or USB. Many, many devices can do this, so it seems weird to me that S&B would rather have people mail in their old units, and pay for shipping *new* units back to them, just for a firmware upgrade.

Seems to me that their warranty expenses would be lower if customers could do firmware upgrades.

Circumstances have been such that I've been using the Vapman for sleep prep lately. I can be finished with the Vapman before the Crafty is heated up and ready to go.

Last night, I had a little more time available so I pulled out the Crafty. Despite the frequent praises about Crafty flavor, I had never given it much thought...thinking the Vapman and the Crafty were basically the same in terms of flavor.

Wow, was I wrong. I tend to do 5-6 hits at the main temp and 5-6 at boost. Last night, 11 of those 12 hits were remarkably tasty. Because I go for speed with the Vapman, I don't baby the bowl; meaning that I get 2 flavorful hits with the Vapman at most. The contrast in terms of flavor and longevity of flavor blew me away.

Big win for Crafty!

how long did it take you to get your unit back from s & b? and did it come with 2.07 firmware, and different charger (cord same length)? Is if not overheating or lasting longer?

So I know I read it in this thread somewhere, but they could have set it up for over the air updates easily. They chose not to, to prevent users from loading up their own custom firmwares that would go beyond the safe limits of the device.

Great news Brave!

During a cleaning last night I noticed a bit of missing plastic on the base unit where the cooling unit connects on my Mighty (Crafty is still less than a week old so she's flawless). I agree with what others have suspected and stated.. When the plastic is really hot, it gets weaker. If you are removing/adjusting/replacing the cooling unit while it is really warm, you are going to break bits off sooner or later.

For that reason, I am going to treat my Crafty a little differently and really try to let the unit cool down before touching cooling unit. If I need to open it hot, I'm going to make a conscious effort to remember to press down against the O ring to relieve the pressure of the plastic on plastic.

I'll let the Mighty take some more abuse before I send it away. Having the Crafty for backup makes this an option haha. When the replacement Mighty comes, I'll treat it the same way.

I live in the area so I went by their office. Crafty technician did a diagnostic on my old unit then went in the back and brought me out a new one sealed up in a box (said they had just been delivered that morning).
Total time: 20 minutes (plus 15 driving).

Charger is physically smaller than original. Same short cord, but does seem to charge faster. Also unit gets up to temp faster, but as I said previously that has something to do with a brand new battery. The tech guy did say they had changed battery brand so maybe that had something to do with faster heat up.

Hi Very high
Does anyone know...

Does the Crafty fit in the RYOT small Packratz case? Any other small case suggestions?

It does fit nice and snug but not much room for anything else. Ive just been traveling for a couple of days with mine. I packed the Crafty, a brush and filled the provided foil fresh pouch with herb. No room for a filling tool. It does keep the smell out though very impressed with mine so far.

Sounds like just what I'm looking for! I just got my Crafty and don't plan to use the filling tool anyway. I'm a fan of using a salt spoon.

I personally enjoy my crafty and I believe I would prefer this over the mighty for my specific uses and needs, but for those of us who purchased our crafty at the original $399, I believe should hopefully have the upgrade fee ( even though I know this is on the case to case basis) waived seeing as though we paid the price that the Mighty is selling for now......... I haven't posted in a while and just wanted to give my :2c:. lol

Been absent from this thread for a bit. Reading back the past few pages, it seems with the new firmware (2.07 I believe?) there have been some positive changes along with a new battery manufacturer.

I'm still running an OG Crafty with firmware 2.04. I have ~35 hours on it right now.

It sounds like if I send my Crafty in, I'll get a new Crafty with the new battery. Is this correct? Or will they only update my current Crafty and do nothing with the battery?

If I get a new battery, I think I might hang onto my current unit for a bit, just to extend the life of the (potentially) new battery. If I wouldn't be getting a new battery though, might just send it in right away to get the new firmware if there have been significant improvements.

Thoughts are welcomed!

My suggestion would be to hold on and enjoy the unit you have until you experience problems.

I'm at 89 hours and sipping away as we speak. I have version 2.04 , serial in the 2000's, so one of the early units. It's been flawless so far... I echo kaptan's advice.
