A buddy of mine let me clean his Crafty today. 30 hours of use since December and he never even opened the CU once to clean it (he didn't realize that it needed care). :disgust:

Some of you may think I'm crazy, but I have used a few coffee grinders, and many metal grinders, and honestly, for what I need, I think the SnB plastic grinder works VERY well. I twist each load for no more than 5 to 10 seconds and get a very nice fine grind.

Just one users opinion, but there it is. :peace:

I totally agree! I have used many different metal, wood and plastic grinders over the years and none have done as good as the S&B. I basically gave away a relatively new SpaceCase and kept my plastic S&B.

You may have not want to do that. How long have you had your plastic S&B? I've owned probably 6 or 7 or these and every single one deteriorated quite rapidly....broken plastic bits from the points breaking off. Also a bitch to clean since ISO isn't so acrylic safe. I've melted a couple of these!

I love the S&B loading tool but i'll never use their grinders unless it was an emergency.

Same here. I find the S&B grind to be way too fine. And you are correct, not ISO safe at all, neither is the loading tool. I ruined one of those but with all my warranty exchanges I have plenty of extras.

Hi Very high
@Stu I am amazed he could still get a toke off the thing.
Makes me fell less guilty for leaving my cleanings weeks apart :brow:
The goodies you got out of it though....wow

Actually, those "goodies" consisted mostly of oil-covered ABV bits (my buddy's screen was partially torn, allowing for lots of ABV getting trapped in the CU) so I just dumped it all in the trash.

So the Crafty was waiting for me after work, ya to bcvapor for a quick shipment! I plugged it in for the first charge and as it was charging I opened the app on my iphone 6+ and connected to it no problem. Set my temps, brightness, etc. and closed the app on my phone. I did all this without ever turning on the Crafty but it was doing it's charging cycle.

After it was charged, I disconnected power and loaded it up. Turned on, started heating and then I opened the app again. It was unable to connect to the Crafty but I know my changes from earlier were saved as vibration was off and the lights were dim. I tried restarting the app, deleted and re downloaded, etc. all while just enjoying the bowl.

After, I tried from a new ipad mini, with Crafty on, off, charging, not charging, disconnected it from app and tried to add "new" crafty, reset Crafty to defaults with the power button thing (which worked as vibration is back and light is bright). Nothing has resulted in being able to reconnect. Luckily my temps were 185/199 so not that much different than 180/195 since I'm back to defaults.

:(

Edit: had it in my pocket for a bit. Took it out, turned it on and opened app. It prompted for serial number again finally and reconnected! Hope that was a rare occurrence. :)

I just received my Crafty about a week ago-seemed to not stay powered long,so I kept my eye on the time after last recharge and it only stays charged for 25 minutes of power before dying completely.I am getting about 2 1/2 bowls per charge and it runs a total of about 3 minutes per use with me just taking 2 or 3 hits.Does this seem kind of low?-I hear a lot of people saying 45-60 minutes.I was wondering since my sessions are so short if the constant heating up to temp kills battery quicker

it seems that there´s a problem with your crafty. Mine is on 65 hours of use now and i can get 3-5 half bowl sessions (2-3 hits and off). Try to discharge the battery totally to death and then charge it up again- that may help you.

I'm confused by what your saying-maybe I wasn't clear on my part-I fill up my bowl all the way, take two to three hits per session and each bowl is about 3 sessions worth and I get to do that 2 1/2 times (total 25 minutes runtime)before battery dies. Are you saying 3-5 1/2 bowl sessions or 3-5 half filled bowl sessions?

so you´re getting 2 bowls in total 6 sessions ? then your are at 6 sessions per charge and that´s it.Your crafty is OK! Don´t look at the time but count the sessions. And i mean 2-3 hits and bowl is done! i think that most power goes out by heating to the set temperature. Imo you´re able to get 6 full bowls out of your crafty(each in one session!) what is the average for new unit

So,2-3 hits per session and 6 sessions per charge-kinda weaker than I thought it would be,but at least it's normal-thought I'd have to send it back.Thanx for the info

My crafty died after 73 hours of use, got it 4 months ago, the light was burning yellow/red. I've sent it back a week ago, got a nice email saying they are sending me a brand new one. Good customer service so far!

Haven’t checked in in a while as things have been intense and crazy around here, but I started having some problem around 75 hours.

I’d get the messages on my App, but they didn’t necessarily go with the situation. One time, after charging, as it heated up I got a message saying Battery Low need to recharge. Another time as it was heating up, but well below target temp I got the Vaporizer is too hot and needs to cool down. Things like that. Every session I’d get two or three of these inappropriate messages.

Although it was working I knew it needed checking.

Fortunately I live within easy driving distance of the Oakland office so I went by there.

As luck would have it the Crafty technician was right there and he immediately checked it out. After a few minutes of fiddling around he said they’d replace it with a new one. He went in a back room and came out with a whole new boxed unit. I pointed out I had only brought the faulty unit and not the other stuff, but that wasn’t a problem. They gave me a whole new boxed and sealed unit.

I asked about any changes they might have made since I got mine early on. He said a modification was made internally to the battery compartment and that they had switched to a different battery company. Plus, of course, new firmware. New version being V02.07.

The whole thing took about 20 minutes and they were great. I walked out with my new unit (S/N is 16000 numbers higher than my original). And its on the charger now. Just in time for the holiday weekend! I thought I’d have to leave it there and come back for it next week, or whenever.

You can’t beat Customer Service like that!:tup:

Your total battery use time might be a tad low at 25 minutes. I am only estimating though as "total use time" on a battery is something that people haven't talked much about here. Most people mention the number of sessions they get off a single charge. Sessions vary in length but between 2 and 3 sessions seems to be what most people get.

If a session last somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes, ( I have had longer sessions as I'm sure others have too. ) then I don think your time is that far off. Maybe a little low.

What I question more, is the 2-3 hits per session? This seems VERY low to me. I don't know if it's maybe your material? Or the way you are packing the chamber, or maybe you are just "micro-loading" the chamber, but 2-3 is very very low compared to my usage. I often quit while there is still plenty of vapor coming. I would say I easily get 7-10 good draws. Maybe more, as I said, i don't usually finish. Too much for me.

Could it be you are vaping at a very high temp? I vape close to the default.

Just received my Crafty yesterday so here is a take on fresh batteries with how I use the device:

Load full bowl (around .2), lightly compress. Fire it up and let it heat to my default of 185 C.

When it's at temp I take a ~10 second slow inhale directly to lungs saving enough room for a good gulp to bring it down. Usually light goes red for the last few seconds of my draw. Light goes green again a few seconds before I'm ready to exhale a great cloud.

Repeat that 3-4 more times and then bump to 199 C for 2-3 of the same to finish it off. That's one session for me of around 7 minutes including initial heat up time.

With a full battery I did 3 of those sessions last night and could have probably squeezed a 4th out but 5 might be stretching it. That's perfect for me as I have the Mighty as well as a 15,600 power bank that should charge Crafty 5 times.

Edit: have had one session so far with Crafty today on full charge. For science I will attempt 4 + more sessions in the next 6 hours before zzz and see if she turns off on me.

Edit 2: second session down. Again, 5 draws at 185 (used stopwatch, more like 12-15 seconds) and then 3 at boosted 199C. Third exhale from 199 was pretty thin. Checked battery through app just before I turned it off, still 5/6 but i'm sure that 5th is going to drop as soon as I turn it on for session 3. Stay tuned for an after dinner report! ;)

edit 3: third session down, total time turned on was 6 mins 2 seconds, have 3/6 on battery at the end of that session. Same as before, 5x standard, 3x boosted.

edit 4 (final): 4th session ended with 2/6 bars, same amount of draws at same temps as always, tried a 5th session, got through my 5 draws at 185 but after turning on boost, it powered off while trying to hit 199C. Took one last post mortem draw and emptied her out to put on the charger.

All in all, I'm very happy if I can get 4 full (my) sessions per charge.

So I was flipping through the manual on the "new/warranty" replacement and I came upon something I hadn't noticed before.

S&B says not only disconnect the charger cord from the crafty, but also unplug the charger itself.

Does everybody do that? Does having the charger plugged in all the time have some negative consequences that anybody knows of? I've never seen that recommendation from other rechargeable vapes.

I've been told if there is a light on the charger that is on, then it is using electricity. So it's wasteful, if nothing else.
