not the greatest video, but you get the idea:

Sorry just to clarify, all you used was a Minivap flexicone , the small basket and of course the
bubbler ? Sorry for all the questions, new to the water filtration side of things .

Been using the standard screen on top of my flower instead of the liquid pad. Can really taste the flowers a lot better and the hits are definitely a lot denser. I did not cut the screen in half, when it was in half bits of flower kept creeping up the CU halfway through the session. I also took out the screen in the CU as done by another member here . Really appreciate the advice guys , these small changes really alter the already satisfying experience I have with my Crafty.

I tried it again with the small basket, and I got some decent pulls out of it. With the basket you are only vaping just around 0.1 grams.
I'm also interested in using the crafty with a bong, and this is what I found on the net.

http://www.vaporizerwizard.com/crafty-mighty-water-pipe-adapter-tutorial/

You just need the Arizer Extreme-Q Whip, and you can use it with any bong, from my understanding. (most bongs)

I used a minivap flexicone and basket, an 18mm --> 14mm reducer, and a small length of silicon tubing to mate the flexicone to the reducer

69 hours of use after having it for 2.5 months. I got the dreaded red and orange flashing light whenever I tried to turn it on. Happened while I was in the middle of the session. Called the support number and was emailed a pre-paid shipping label the next day. Exactly one week later I have received a replacement unit. That's my experience I want to know what are the most hours of operation anyone has gotten out of a unit before failing? From browsing through the forum it seems like most people's units are failing around the 70 hour mark

77 hours here and working great. The plastic holding the cooling unit broke off the outer edge while gently cleaning the bowl with the brush (known issue with first batch units). The cooling unit still locks into place and creates a seal. Not sure why everyone was bugging out about that, it performs the same and is not even visually noticeable. I may send it in for a refresh in 1 year and 9 months (under warranty) since I'm sure there will be more firmware upgrades by then.

WHAT THE FUCK!?

Pardon my French (and no French directed at the commenter lol :peace:), but when I had issues with my Mighty, I contacted S & B with my err 004 straight out of the box experience (and ongoing with battery issues/screen issues) and they told me I would have to ship at my own expense to them!

Why the inconsistency S & B?

The Mighty and Crafty (I own both) are great vapes, but if S & B are now doing the right thing and paying for return shipping on DOA/faulty units, could you let the customers who you had previously told you wouldn't pay shipping know of this change?

I would have warrantied my Mighty and then Crafty (both very early models) AGES AGO!!!

This is not company bashing by the way! I want to like this company, I have sunk $1000 odd into their products and recommended them far and wide. I just want the service my faulty out of the box unit needed since - you guessed it - when I opened the box, without spending 10-20% of the buying price on shipping it!

Just got my crafty back from s and b after a very quick all in 9 day door to door turnaround. I sent it in for Bluetooth connectivity for android 5.0. I sent in the heating unit and seemingly received a different heating unit upon return. I can't say if it's new or used. I also received a cooling unit which is definitely used as it had some resin, more than the one I had left behind. No biggie. I cleaned it (but I do think it is better form to clean products, if used, prior to shipping). I will report back on functionality and connectivity later.

In principle, I think you're right, but pragmatically, i would just send it in, pay the shipping, and nicely ask for a reimbursement. Chances are, but not necessarily so, they will do right by you. Just deal.

I would not be happy getting someone else's cooling unit, that is just wrong.

So you are saying that their inconsistency is acceptable (giving someone else pre-paid shipping and telling me I have to pay myself)?

Because I do not think it is at all acceptable, and with all due respect will not 'just deal'. If you agree with me in principle, I hope you can appreciate that I am a man of my principles and I will not just accept this kind of treatment.

I will make sure it is known that this company has conducted themselves as such until they make it right.

Good product; inconsistent and at times, poor service. Not hating, just calling a spade a spade.

Omg, bro. It's sorta like this: you're totally right in principle, but in the grand scheme of things....just send it back, and politely let them know your thoughts about this cost to you, etc., and then, especially given like what this hobby is all about, I'd just...be a little mellow. What is it, like $10? There is the principle, and I hear you, and then there is the feeling or reaction which seems a little (not a lot!) out of proportion. You can probably be okay with this, right?

Look at my other post: I received someone else's used and uncleaned cooling unit. That is kinda not correct, but I cleaned it, reported it here, and will cope and move on. After a beer.... Smile with me man.

Yeah, it is somewhat wrong, and maybe worth a nice little email to s and b giving them some pos feedback for quick turnaround, a second spare cooling unit, but some constructive fb that the spare second cooling unit prolly should've been cleaned.

You are completely mistaken my friend. Shipping is $50-$100. Tracking is dicey for all but the most expensive service. I do not live in the same country as you!

The wait on the absolute fastest service would be 1 week getting to s & b and one week coming back (but I seriously doubt S & B would send it back express!!!). This could easily be 1 month+ without a Mighty plus paying 10-20% of the buy price just for the privilege of sending it to the manufacturer so I can experience it functioning properly once.

I am sure you understand why I am much more frustrated than you would be. It's the dinero man! The frustration rises proportionately to the cost and inconvenience.

Given your much higher shipping costs (my bad), I see your point both in principle and pragmatics. I guess I would then, and you likely know this, call s and b and explain the exorbitant additional cost to you which should logically be beared by the vendor, and see how they respond. Yo comprendo. Es mucho dinero!

Okay, moving away from service....

Given that I received an additional cooling unit / mouthpiece from s and b, should I use the "new" cooling unit sent or the cooling unit I already had? Any thoughts would be appreciated. They seem similar, yet I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that whatever was sent was the suggested cooling unit to use. Thx.

you need to pack it really tight, manual even says if your not packing it tight then you need to use the stainless steel mesh/wool thing to push it down more. if your still getting small clouds see what temp your vaping at, trying putting it up more, if still no luck check your baterry levels, if still no luck then yes you have low quality weed my friend =]

I think there is a difference between S&B in Europe and US, if someone talks about there customer service please tell if it's the US or Europe branch. For me personally shipping to Germany costs only E12 so that's affordable.

For me in the USA, shipping was from New York to California, and was about the same, $12.

Just got my new Crafty on Thursday and been putting it through its paces. Great performance with the flowers and messing around with boost mode for the shatter. We really enjoy the convenience and recharging is really not a big deal with all the USB sources we have laying around. Like anything else, each design is going to have its tradeoffs given current technology.

SN# 4094
Firmware v. 2.04

No issues as mentioned but others but it is still early. If I do have any issues, S&B USA is just down the coast in Oakland from where we are in Seattle. I could always drop it off on a business trip if necessary but I'm optimistic things will go smoothly. We are relatively moderate vapers and this medicates very efficiently. We'll probably make up for the cost of the unit in efficiency alone.

Thanks to all of the comments and information shared on this thread. It made a big difference in figuring out our options and what we were getting ourselves into.

I'm pretty sure the manual advised against packing the oven too much. The liquid pad is to be used if you're not filling the oven all the way to the top. The crafty being a convection Vape, requires a looser pack so it can maintain good airflow. If you start packing really tight, the performance will suffer, and draw resistance will go up.

I've always filled the oven to the top, I usually never even tamp it, just level it down, and I get mega clouds every time. Doctor sleeps problem might well be the quality flowers.

Hey guys need some advice. I have seen the video by vaporizer wizard on adding water filtration to the Crafty/Mighty using the Extreme Q whip. Just need some confirmation before I order these accessories.
http://www.herbtools.co.uk/grace-glass-green-shower-bubbler.html
http://www.herbtools.co.uk/18-8-vaporizer-glass-whip.html ( Would this work or would I actually need the extreme q whip ? )

Sorry for my ignorance, appreciate the advice.
The bubbler you linked has a female 18.8mm joint, so you would need an adapter that is 18.8mm male to mate with it. The whip you linked is has a female joint, so you would need a 18.8mm male/male adapter in order to make that work. I would suggest getting a male adapter and you can just use generic silicone tubing to attach the Crafty to the bub.

:peace:

What service is charging you $50-$100 to ship a package that weighs less than 1 pound? Also, What country are you shipping from? I used the US Postal Service and even though my shipping was prepaid the label said that it was for next day express delivery and cost $10.
