Decided I would try to fix broken off piece myself before sending my unit back. So far so good on super glueing it back on. Just in case it breaks off again, I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestion on what type glue would be best ?

On a different Crafty-related topic . . . . if it hasn't already been noted, craftyvaporizer.com says battery replacements will be $50. The site appears to be S&B legit so that gives us an idea of what to expect when the inevitable needs to be done. If I continue to get the same great quality vapor, I'll be happy to pay it.

I live in the EU, that means if the battery dies within 2 years i get a new one they can't charge me.

Flashing red LED means diagnostic mode. Can someone please tell me how to it get out of diagnostic mode?! Pretty frustrating... my crafty got into this "mode" only 5 hours into usage.

Flashing red LED means "Boost" temp has been activated and heating. It will flash green when the boost temp has been reached.

Well I have experienced an error which made my unit not autoshutoff until depleted, disable boost mode, cranck up to max temp on its own and blink rapidly in no specific color. Prior to that accident I admit I had only depleted cell once. I have been using Crafty for 5 hours total, basicly as a desktop, always plugged in when in use. After battery died all turned back to normal. Unit was not overheated when I noticed something is going on, it was simply charging after previous session - an hour perhaps? Nothing extreme.

S&B have not answered my email yet (it's been 24 hours), which is unusal as they usually answer within an hour. Still waiting though.

As I see it there are two options. Either there was a simple computing error or there was a computing error which activated diagnostic mode - perhaps the "always stay on" mode. I wonder if it could be one of the mystery bluetooth options (http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-crafty-by-storz-bickel.15984/page-71#post-694276)?

Perhaps there is a point in hacking this thing afterall. Hell yeah.

Same problem. I press the button and it flashes red. I plug it in to charge and it flashes green. Not blue. So annoying. Why haven't anyone on here addressed this to fix this damn issue?!

I found myself stuck in diagnostic mode. Help to get it out of this mode will be much appreciated. I need my medication.

CannabisEnthusiast,
I obviously have a problem nobody else has. My crafty has 5 hours of use. I was in the middle of session, and it starts blinking ONLY red. I plug it in, thinking it's dead, it blinks ONLY green. No blue whatsoever. WHAT THE FUCK... Can anyone help me out.

I'm envious of all of you... I'm buying an Arizer Air because I just cant justify spending nearly double the price on a Crafty.

After doing extensive research over the past 2 years trying to find a portable vaporizer, the Crafty came into the picture and took the crown. Maybe by the end of the year I'll join you guys.

I had a similar experience with my unit. Resetting to factory defaults via the app solved the problem immediately. It has not occurred again since.

Hey everyone, I've had my crafty for just about a week now. It came with firmware 2.05 and has the blue o-rings everywhere. I'm having a couple problems that hopefully you guys can help me with. First off, this vape is not impressing me yet. I can't seem to get more than 2-3 hits before the bowl is completely toast. I've tried packing the bowl tight, loose, and have tried different temperatures, including the default of 356 F. Everything I try, only yields 2-3 hits, but they are strong hits for sure. Just seems like I should be getting more out of this thing. Secondly, when I went to charge the unit the other day, for the first time, it took all night and the better part of the next day to fully charge. I used the included power adapter and cable. The manual says it should charge in about 2 hours. Does this mean I have a problem with my battery? And if so, maybe this problem is related to not getting many hits off the bowl. Thanks! P.S. I am using top shelf weed here so it isn't that because I can take the same weed and get massive clouds and bags when using the volcano.

The fact that it took so long to charge, leads me to suspect that your unit is faulty. Out of the box , I fully charged my crafty in about 1 hour. Email S&B.

I don't compress my bowl, just load to the top and level it off. I get to 10+ big hits and maybe 3-5 more nice hits on boost. This is using factory temps.

Hey bro! About charging, it should top up in about 2 hours so test it some more and if it keeps taking so long to charge you are most probably eligible for a replacement.

About the small amount of hits though, it depends on a few variables and 2-3 hits sounds normal for a medium-low grade of herb. I have had herbs that lasted only one hit and ones that went over 10 and that's with the temp set at max. It also depends on how long/big hits you take! What's your average draw and force? Do you suck hard? It will dry the load faster as well! The Crafty is the most serious vaping tool I have ever encountered and it extracts so well that it amazes me every time I use it. Lower quality herbs are depleted of their oils VERY fast in the Crafty!
If you need longer sessions and to sip your botanicals leisurely, I think you need one more vaporizer in your collection. A Vapman or a Lotus or a Firefly depending on your usage patterns... I hope I helped a little. :)

Sorry, I had to laugh. True though, sometimes I pull too much other times not much. All technique. That said, I reckon the guys problem is probably a duff battery if it doesn't produce much when its on and takes ages to charge.

I am amazed at the amount of problems S&B had with this. I guess they are at the limit of what can be done and the maybe tech is less tried and tested than a noisy old pump and desktop heater of their original unbreakable Volcano.

So I contacted S&B about the battery thing and the low number of hits I get. They only addressed the battery issue and said I should monitor the unit a little longer and if I continue to have long charges, to send it in. They wanted me to try a different charging cable first. On the number of draws I can get....I've tried slow, long, and short pulls and it doesn't seem to matter. I am using good quality top shelf weed so I know for sure it isn't that. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

I have tried top shelf indoors from Amsterdam a few times and they don't produce nearly as much vapor as a nice local outdoor. Top shelf doesn't mean more resins and more vapor. You could probably try other strains?

I've found the number of hits I get with my crafty to be fairly consistent so far between 3 different strains. The main factor in my case is the amount I load. With that said, I usually acquire my meds in larger quantities so I use the same strain for a while.

If you vaped the same strains in some other vaporiser, then you can compare how high u get with the crafty with respect to the other vape. That way you can rule out the strain....

 :rockon:Woo-fucking-hoo where have you been all my life crafty!

I took it out of the box and booted it up, then booted up the app on my iPad.
I tweaked the temp out of the gate from the default 180° to 190°c, then while heating up again I messed around with the funny little stash box filler thingie. Got that sorted, took three big rips, turned it off and pulled a fourth while I watched the temperature drop almost 20°c. Actually I almost forgot to take those last two hits because this thing rocks! Anyways I then opened it and it looks like there's maybe something left.

So I turned it back on and played around with the temperature bump, which I lowered to 10°c. Meh, not as much left as I thought, I bumped the boost all the way up to 20°c with similar wimpy results so I guess that fourth hit mostly finished it off. The abv looks pretty spent, and evenly colored.

All in all I'm very pleased to say that this worked out as I expected it to, which is full performance out of the box, and full satisfaction without a hitch except I'm broke again! If I was to suggest any features for the software, it would be to add °f temperatures, and make the vibration intensity adjustable.

This is my first S&B product, color me impressed

I'm also very pleased with puffitup's quick, excellent service as per usual
edit: my crafty has the latest firmware v02.05 :)

Second Crafty unit looks like it's going to fail as well: it's been charging from 1/2 for about 4 hours now and according to the app is at 2/3rds of the way full. Emailed S&B but there's really no point, they're just going to tell me to wait until I get the signal and then to ship it back to them.

Given how flaky these units have been, it's entirely unacceptable to me that they expect you to ship the unit back at your own expense. It's bad enough that they don't offer cross-shipping (which would reduce turnover time from ~10 days to 2) but because I live on the East Coast, I will have sunk 40 dollars into returns shipping alone.

The unit is fantastic when it works, but at this point, given how many problems I and countless other users have encountered, I have a problem recommending it to anyone...
