Having a lot of 'German' German mates, and without stereotyping, I bet they tested the different strains for their vapour density, volume, etc.. when being vaporised in the Crafty.

I do feel the crafty is the next level up from the stem design vaporiser. As I bet they tested the different strains for their vapour density, volume, etc.. when being vaporised in the Crafty. Then they designed the Crafty round their findings. Yes its a very good vaporiser, therefore I agree with @natural farmer about its quality.

P.s Sorry to any stem design users! if the crafty wasn't an evolution I would say so, and I would also be saying I had been ripped off. Look its a $400 vape, that's so much more expensive than the stem designs, this is where the stem design excels, on their price. A $400 portable vape is not for everybody, its a lot of greenbacks.

Man, I just packed a bowl of Mother Earth's finest Ocean Grown and I stand in complete bewilderment of the magic the Crafty weaves. The best strains are going to taste like Nirvana. Anytime I get a nice high end OG I stand back after a puff or two and nod my head at the Crafty like that'll do pig. That'll do.

All I know is she completes me.

@Ratchett Do you think it would be possible to manufacture a device that could couple or clip a small mah battery to the crafty?

This is a firearm mountable flashlight with pressure switch and was part of my inspiration.

If I could point out: Even though I've been vaping since the og solo, it took me a little while to figure the Crafty's best vapour draw for me. So I would not recommend it to people who have never vaped, I think they should try a stem design first, before they commit themselves to $400 dollars. If they don't like the vape experience, its a big cost.

I have noticed that if you combust the different herb types, the vapour is of a similar density. Although you will get more draws from each different herb type. So the combusted vapour density of parsley and rosemary are similar, but you will get more draws from rosemary.

However, when you convect parsley and rosemary, separately from one other, the vapour density is different. It seems rosemary produces a denser vapour than parsley.

I hope you can understand my, shared, experience of the crafty vaporiser?

Allright, I have owned a DaVinci for 1.5 years and a Firefly for 2 months. So far, I like the DaVinci more than the Firefly, but nevermind...this is a Crafty review (which I've owned for a week)

EXECUTVE SUMMARY
Crafty is like a DaVinci v2.0. It does everything my DaVinci does (stealth, precise temp, efficient use of herb, useable while plugged-in, pocketability, big loads, 2 min warmup) but better (vapor doesn't burn throat, there's good/lots of vapor from the start, unit doesn't get as hot-to-the-touch, loads even more, tastes more plasticy, a bit easier to clean). If I was Consumer Reports I'd give it a "Recommended" but not a "Best Buy".

PARTICULARS

The Bads
Plastextractables. Vapor tastes like 'fresh garbage bag'. One would guess they've done testing on the hot air extractables (they did for the Volcano) and found no problem, but I'd like to see the data.

Car chargability. I'm not sure my car charger is ever going to completely charge this thing. I suspect it has to go onto a mains USB charger to get enough juice to actually fill it up. If you plan to keep this in your car most of the time, keep this in mind.

Ugly. But this is coming from someone who skis in jeans, so nevermind.

The Goods
It just works. Good vapor immediately after the green light goes on. Cool. Lots of it. It's really stealthy. No technique required. The bluetooth app thing is actually cool - if not always convenient. USB charging (duh!). Efficient use of herb and no scorching. Can't speak to battery life yet as I usually keep it plugged in.

The Cost
High cost is usually a reflection of the burdens that must be overcome to generate the product. In this case, I think a lot of the money went into design, so maybe the materials (mainly plastic, but with a nifty, space-age herb chamber) don't reflect what we're used to seeing at this level (?, waving hands now). Given what popular models are going for, I'd say Crafty is a fair value - German/EU regulatory compliance costs notwithstanding.

The Budget Alternative
If your on a budget, think about getting the older DaVinci. It needs to be hacked a bit (whip tubing keeps falling off) but has many of the same features of a Crafty - stealth, precise temp, efficient burn, pocketability, charge-while-vaping. And I saw they dropped the price of the DaVinci to ~$140.

I think it's fairly normal to have a flavor bias with your favorite device when you try any new device. I know I did. I've always been convinced the pax had a superior flavor. All it took was a a week or so without the pax allowing for some intimacy with the Crafty to know how wrong I was. I can't in good faith put herb in the pax now with my crafty around. I feel like I'm wasting flavor and medicine. I'm guessing in a week or two you'll come back and say something similar. I honestly do.

The more often I vape the less I use to get blitzed... Right now I'm at less then 0.1g! Do you guys notice the same thing? I guess I'm asking only those moving to S&B from lower class units like me (EQ, desktop :whoa:). EQ gets me a few big hits and then quickly whispy clouds or nothing if I got shwag. AVB usually is only burnt at one side, but black! Crafty's extraction is perfectly consistent and even. I think they nailed the optimum smoke density/absorption capacity ratio :clap:

I just think the crafty extracts more medicine and thus more efficient so in that sense less has been more compared to other Vapes I've used.

I don't think anyone is upset at S&B regarding making the unit compatible with the latest tech, the complaints appear to address the lack of clarity between what the manual and the website state as compatible.
I also think you may not be considering the vaporists that are on a fixed income. To expect a senior, on a tight budget, to buy a smart phone in order to get the full function out of their $400 vaporizer seems a bit insensitive.
Having recently added the Air and the Crafty to my line up, signature to reflect shortly, I can only agree with the majority of posts above and say, it's about the best portable I've used so far. Don't get me wrong, I am loving the Air and recommend it highly, it's a mini Solo(with less battery life), but the Crafty is smaller and seems to have longer battery life.
So, what are you guys doing about using this short cord during pass through operation?

Have any of you guys tried using your Crafty outdoors in the cold? I have been pretty happy with the performance myself. It definitely takes quite a bit longer to preheat, but once it gets up to temp it holds it pretty well during draws.

I have only vaped outside with it down to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit so far though.

Even though there were a few nice ones already I would love to see a video of someone packing the herb chamber as full as they can and having the temp up to the maximum and get as big of clouds as they possibly can! That would be a nice Christmas teaser!

Yea I get what your saying it's just funny to be on a fixed income but buy a top tier vape that most people would think $400 is insane for, but can't afford a used smartphone to power it for only $100. But who cares Im not judging. I'm not rich I'm still waiting for my next check to get mine lol. I just wanna see some clouds!

And does anyone else notice this plastic garbage bag taste that jeffspc said? You all seem pretty happy...

That's an interesting question that I hadn't considered. I suppose the micro plug/pin could be different number of contacts, but the USB end seems standard. I tried different ones and they all seemed to work. I've been using the one I showed and its been charging up ok.

Perhaps our electronics experts could chime in?
