There are other matrix pillars?

The other pillar types that I have seen are the Mobius Matrix and the Sovereignty Peyote Pillar both much more expensive than Steven's pieces but also look pretty awesome.

Thanks for the feedback. It would be good to get a review of the FC707. My thought on the FC707 is that if splashback is a problem why not put a slitted dome in bottom of the neck of the mouthpiece? That would keep the vapour in while stopping any splashback. Maybe a suggestion for Steven to incorporate into the design? Putting a dome could also make the neck function as an ice bong adding further cooling.

Advanced warning:
I am about to be pedantic about model names/terminology - IMO there are enough issues with identifying glass designs that being mushy with set terminology is just going to confuse things...
The other pillar types that I have seen are the Mobius Matrix and the Sovereignty Peyote Pillar both much more expensive than Steven's pieces but also look pretty awesome.
Well "mobius matrix" doesn't describe any pillar piece I've ever seen...
"Mobius" refers to an American brand.
AFAIK, they have never produced any pillar items.
"Matrix" refers to a perc type - A "Birdcage", "Tyre" or whatever else it may also be referred to, it is essentially a form of gridded showerhead in function.

"Mobius Matrix" essentially just means any Mobius produced item that has a matrix perc

I have 2 Mobius Matrices (and used to own 2 others):D, but they don't really fit into this thread...

"Sovereignty Peyote Pillar" also Does not describe a Matrix Pillar
"Sovereignty" is the American Brand.
"Peyote" Refers to the initial Perc, which is also essentially a form of gridded showerhead, though fairly different in design.
"Pillar" then refers to the pillar section in the piece.

So "Sovereignty Peyote Pillar" refers to a pillar piece with a peyote perc...

Here are the only pillar pieces I know of on DHGate:

The Sovereignty Mini Pillar Knockoffby Steven (FC-711?).
It has a peyote-ish Showerhead Perc - No matrix = not a matrix pillar

The Vertigo Pillar-Cycler Knockoff by CCG
Showerhead Perc - No matrix = not a matrix pillar

FC-1000 (bubbler/side neck) & FC-707 (tube/top neck) By steven
Matrix Perc = Matrix Pillar

An unknown janky looking straight tube pillar with either a showerhead or matrix perc...

With the possible exception of that last one I listed, There are no other matrix pillars on dhgate to compare to in order to say that Stevens ones are good value.

You can certainly use the Pricing of similar US made items to gauge the relative value of the FC-707/1000, but that's different to another chinese matrix pillar...

I also just want to throw out there that the stereo matrix is not a pillar piece if that's what you meant when you said "Mobius Matrix"

Thanks for the feedback. It would be good to get a review of the FC707. My thought on the FC707 is that if splashback is a problem why not put a slitted dome in bottom of the neck of the mouthpiece? That could definitely help, I'd guess it'll add another couple of $$$ to the price...
IMO the bubbler design is better for this piece anyway...

I am on the fence as well between the FC-707 and FC-1000. The FC-1000 is now listing as $73.87 and the FC-707 is $68.19. I have a $5 coupon so in reality they are the same price. I am leaning towards the FC-1000 due to splash back concerns from what was posted about the FC-707 but someone posted there is a V2 of the FC-1000 coming. I am not sure if I should wait or not. Sometimes the V2 is not better. Does any one know more about this?

Was wondering if you guys could tell me which piece from Steven is going to have the least drag. I'm going to be using a E-nano in it for reference.

The few that I'm really interested in are the FC-186, the straight fab, and the FC-1000.

I'm not sure if it would be a good choice for the E-nano but the new Torus clone looks really nice too.

Yingmin, without a doubt. The key difference is that Yingmin's percs are welded to the bottom of the can, which means they're closed off and the vapor is going to be channeled entirely through the slits. With Stevens, the bottoms of the arms on the percs are wide open, which means that the slits will fire less and the whole piece will have a much chuggier feel, which is much less like an actual Toro.

Yeah, that's becoming an increasingly widespread problem for me with DHgate glass... That spot seems to get overlooked a lot. There was a huge leak right there in the recycler I just posted about, so big that nothing made it through to the perc.

I also had that problem with a micro I bought a while back, which come to think of it I totally forgot to mention on here. It was this guy, from seller Wintergirl:

http://www.dhgate.com/product/hot-i...r/214756798.html#myaccount_orderdetail-1-null
Hot%20Item%20Hand%20Size%205.5%22%20Mini%20Bubbler%20Glass%20Ash%20Catcher%20Inline%20Percolator%20Water%20Pipe%20Oil%20Rig%20Bong%20Very%20Convenience%20WP027.jpg

Same problem. Huge round hole where the perc is welded to the can, and all the vapor goes through there instead of the perc. I got a replacement from them which has the exact same problem too, and I'm currently waiting to hear back from them about getting a third...

Anyone else had this problem before or is it just me? I feel like I haven't heard too many other people mention it...

I have ordered this same piece from Wintergirl. It was on sale for $11.xx a couple months ago
http://www.dhgate.com/product/hot-i...r/214756798.html#myaccount_orderdetail-1-null

The piece was ok but the perc was up just a bit to high in the can for me. I broke it a couple weeks ago so decided to try a different seller. Chenfeng11 http://www.dhgate.com/product/5-5-q...e/214891972.html#myaccount_orderdetail-1-null had this style but looked like the perc was slanted down in the pic on DHgate so I ordered it ($11.59). I just opened it up and there is a hole at the top of the perc where its welded. About a 5+mm hole. Same as @Erwin . I have emailed them with pics and waiting for a reply. The piece is better as the mouth piece is slanted away more then Wintergirls and the perc is lower in the can but still a bit to high imo.

Also I have 2 coupons for DHgate expire on the 30th. $5 off $30 and $5 off $50. Pm me if you want the code. Cheers

The only person I know of who has ended up with the tube style FC-707 is @Cannabis Connoisseur (side note - to anyone who was pushing for the tube style neck, as I know there was a lot of back and forth about it, where are the reviews?
It's kinda frustrating that people were pushing for a design and then just noped out of purchasing it...).

As he said, He didn't order the 707 tube version, he was sent it in error.

Basically, it seems like the tube version has a slight splashback issue, which I have not experienced with the bubbler style FC-1000.

The bubbler style gives a nice view of the top of the can so you can see vapor forming, I have no idea what the view is like for the 707.

There are other matrix pillars?

Yea, after all the shit I got for pushing for the bubbler style neck, I expected a few more people who spoke up, to pick up a 707 instead of a 1000 and review it.

I went through logjam glass instagram and found this model, it's called the triple mutant egg. This far more complex than most of their designs so it is kind of weird that they would start with that one...but looks pretty cool
It is very weird.

I'm impressed by these Chinese blowers. There is some skill over there apparently. I like the mutant eggs more than the fab eggs. If they make the mutant eggs without the top section i'd grab one. And the doughnut klein with it if it's ever back.

Apologies for my incorrect use of the terminology and thanks for the wealth of information.
No need to apologize :)
It's just better to keep things clear :)
Percs and such can get confusing to keep track of...

Someone (sorry can't remember who) mentioned Steven had mentioned a V2 to them...
I personally didn't like the sound of the changes, but no-one has really discussed them further as far as I know... There may be design reasons for certain changes that I'm not aware of, but ATM they sound like a step backwards
I'm going to contact Steven later today to ask about it :)

I have all 3 of those pieces.
I'll do a quick comparison post of them for you soon :)
My first thought is that of the 3 the straight fab might be a bit of a better fit because its the smallest of them.
Can the nano really keep up milking a bigger piece? I only got to try a friends nano a few times and wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be based on its rep around here...

It could just be because they've been doing those techniques on recent pieces?
I know for sure I've seen a coin rig (or whatever that mid section is called) from one or two sellers recently, and the fab eggs have been exploding all over dhgate...

Yea, after all the shit I got for pushing for the bubbler style neck, I expected a few more people who spoke up, to pick up a 707 instead of a 1000 and review it.
IKR...
At least the 1000 is nice :D

EDIT:
I just counted the slits on a few of my matrices:
FC-1000 Matrix Perc - 21 Slits, 2 bands
FC-186 Stereo Matrix - 18 Slits, 2 bands for both percs
Yingmin Stereo Marix - 25 Slits, 2 bands for both percs

Has anyone had any cracked bubblers from sunshine store? If so, how did they handle the return? Did they want you to ship it back? Please include all details. Thanks.

I think your friend wasn't doing it right. The nano will milk up bigger pieces really quickly, I'll post a video if I can get over my privacy issues. The vapour is thick but (this is a dumb way of describing it) it's more Solo thick than Evo thick if that makes sense. I use it with the 186 & 187 from yingmin. It works really well in both of them but if I was only buying one for it I'd go for the 187 style.

I'm eventually getting an E-Nano and I am deciding between two DHgate pieces: the D022 and FC-187.

Can anyone who has used the D022 comment on the function of the "double chamber" it has? I'm a glass noob and I have no idea whether that would add any benefits like a smoother hit or whatever.

I don't own the Do22, but I have been through several 187's (both GB and FC). I really like the 187's. The Do22 second chamber, referred by to by some around here as "the tumor" may add some extra smoothness at the expense of flavor. Either wet or dry. @ataxian is a big fan of the Do22, maybe he can comment.

Yea, I'm really happy with how the fc-1000 came out, and from what I've been hearing, I think pretty much everybody who bought one is happy with the design specs as well. Glad it worked out in the end.

And thanks for counting the slits on the percs. I've been meaning to compare the gb-186 and the fc-1000. It looked like the gb-186 had a few more but not too many. Steven used a good matrix perc for the fc-1000.

Yea cranked to 6.5-7 (varies unit to unit, home to home, and even outlet to outlet), with some good bud, you can easily get 1-2 very milky hits in pretty much any piece, including the fc-1000. It really is a very solid, high quality vape. It's also very efficient.
Something to note when testing the milking potential of the vape, is the strain. Some strains, despite being very potent, just don't make a very dense vapor, and some almost look like smoke if you shine a light the can as it fills up. I do think that the strains that make denser vapor are usually more potent, but I don't believe it is necessarily a direct correlation.

I'm trying to sale the 707 Steve sent me instead of the 1000 I ordered! I'm going to reorder the 1000 if I can sale the707
Yea, it sucks that you got sent the wrong one. Hopefully you can sell your 707 soon, and pick up an fc-1000. I think you'll really like it.

You can probably get a couple hundred for it and end up profiting if you try hard enough, since it is the next best thing to an authentic peyote pillar, and as long as you don't claim it's a Sovereignty piece, there's nothing wrong with that. If you are willing to settle for less, it shouldn't be very hard to unload at all.

Good luck!
