8 blinking white lights means dead batteries, not bad atomizer. Can't help but wonder how much of the problems and frustration is really just due to misinformation and user error.

Ok, My original atomizer just died. Ordered a replacement which recently arrived.
Notice the ridges on the new one below (left), whereas the original (right) is smooth? What I have observed is the new one works better.
I'm glad it went out, because the new one simply tokes better. Temp1 now is fine for a normal little dab.
Of course, this "difference" could also mean my original atomizer was defective.

My 2 original attys (I bought extra in case) are like the one on the right and have never really worked and eaten through 2 repair kits within around 1.5 days then died. The first replacement Carta has the one on the left and it seems a lot better. I have warrantied one of the attys so far since the warranty only allows for one selection. I will see if the atty I get is like the one on the left, then if so, I'll send in for the other atty for warranty. The new atomizers have significant differences from the ones I received almost 2 weeks ago so I have to wonder why they sent out those attys? Maybe it was cheaper to let whoever bothers to, send in for warranty rather than repackage all the Cartas maybe..? Dunno. I just feel if you have made such large and obviously necessary changes, they were not a surprise to them and they knew it HAD to be changed so why not make sure what you are sending out is going to be 100%?
Hey all, so received my new quartz insert from mr. bonsai...unfortunately these inserts are so thick that you can’t even fit a bubble cap on it or even the stock carp cap! Pretty disappointed as it’s the exact size of the switch insert. Anyone know a work around? Haven’t gotten a response from him yet. Thanks

Now I'm not attacking you personally but considering the pamphlet "manual" says

I left it plugged in overnight with the same USB-C to USB-C cable and no change, it still flashed the same sequence and powered off immediately. However I started to suspect maybe my computer wasn't outputting power through the USB-C port while in standby so I plugged it into the charger by my nightstand and low-and-behold it apparently actually was out of battery.
So yes, this was user error on my part, but I still maintain the device documentation is sorely lacking and needs to be improved. Live and learn.
In my disappointment last night I impulsively bought a Sai TAF + Poseidon + Pico25 from HVT so it'll be interesting to see how they compare when that gets here, I've heard things about the Sai leaking but who knows.
EDIT: After letting it charge completely it's now back to working very well. You can tell (well, I can tell) it's a titanium bucket but it still tastes really nice for what it is. It'll be interesting to see how the quartz tastes in comparison. Real stoked it's actually working, learning it was USB-C when I got it was a really nice surprise compared to the micro-USB on the Peak.

You will be happy with the SAI TAF + Pos combo but it's better for on the go. It's less mess since the air path doesn't go through the device but the carta is worth the extra work imo. It only leaks when using metal or donut coils with holes in the bottom. The bucket does not do that if secured properly.

Like I said, I read the pamphlet, I thought it was fully charged. I plugged it in to my computer via USB-C. I left it for 2 hours like the manual says. All 5 lights flashed when I turned it on. By all impressions, it was fully charged and worked fine until it suddenly didn't. But ok.
ETA: It works great now. I like the device. But the manual/documentation is lacking. That's all I'm saying.

It doesn't have actual USB-C PD charging so you won't be able to charge it from most USB-C ports, its just a regular 5V charging with a USB-C connector. Best off using the included cable or an external 18350 charger.

I can say the same thing as mc said above. I have the same SAI setup as you, bought from HVT as well, I never got around to a Quartz bucket in the SAI TAF though, from what I heard it uses more battery to heat the Quartz up which I see is the same with the Carta at least with the temp settings I use for the Quartz vs the Titanium bucket. It's a great little setup but I like the Carta way more. Also, as mc said, leaking is mainly with the exposed coils using bottom airflow and I never had any leaking but I keep my dabs on the small side.
The biggest advantage the SAI TAF has is portability without the Poseidon, it can be pretty stealthy especially compared to the Carta. However, for me, I don't use outside my home usually, and when I do I just use prefilled 510 carts with a CCell Silo battery, so my SAI is now my backup device if the Carta or an atomizer breaks and it's down while waiting for warranty replacement. I'm going to buy another atomizer once some of the new stuff drops just so I have a backup as my current one doesn't look like it's going to die in the next week or so when it's 30 day warranty will be ending.

Anyone tried using less "pure" forms of concentrates like kief or (water) hash? I've got some temple ball hash I'd like to try in it but don't want to "ruin" a bucket.
My initial thoughts are that it won't work because those concentrates aren't "full melt" or whatever the terminology is.

Yeah I had gotten a message from the IG support team saying that they got the go ahead to send me a Black Magna but unfortunately mine wouldn't be engraved so a couple of the engraving request fell through the cracks I believe.
But at least I will be receiving and all black as well plus you hardly get a look at the bottom of the device anyways unless changing the batteries out so I'm not to upset by it but the uniqueness of it would have been nice.

So to break up the monotony a little but...what’s everybody’s fav temp for Titanium & Quartz inserts. I’m 590 for Titanium and i go two runs for 50 secs. I don't have a great dialed in temp for Quartz yet so I've been going setting two consistently.
Also picked up some 4mm ruby terp pearls but haven't mastered using them. I feel like they hop around and make more of a mess than help right now, but maybe its just me and my new bubble cap making it hop around vs spin. Anybody tried any pearls in their Carta yet or bought the EQ inserts?

Ive used water hash but very high quality water hash. Its considered “full melt” but still leaves a little residue behind. Wouldnt recommend the quartz insert will definitely chazz quickly
Seems like they thought the black would sell out, ended up not selling out and now that they have extra stock theyre offering them to the beta people

So i got my new atomizer and still not working..im not getting some flashi g lights or anything..im getting lights like green and ready to go.but when i go nothing..concentrates dont melt and nothing..what could be issue? This is my luck..im moving and this was gonna be my savior because i will have no place for enail or anything. Now im stuck. Any idea @FocusV ?

I tried app and it connects but nothing is heating..i got like a feq hits off atomizer that came.with it and then nothing..i got bew atomizer and still nothing..vibrates with green lights like its heating up and ready to go but its not..lol..i just figure.this has been my luck..got robbed of basically all my vapes.twice and got helped.by members and now i went with this instead of a mighty as i had an enail but sold cuz im moving and have.no privcy shed at new house tonget away from kids so need to be portable.

Can you elaborate a little more so we can try to troubleshoot your issue? Do you have titanium or quartz in your atomizer? When you push the button, does it blink blue for several seconds before turning solid green? Does it stay green for 40+ seconds before shutting off? And the material in there doesn't melt at all, or just a little? Does the atomizer get hot or warm to the touch at all? Did you get any good hits off the atomizer you're using before it stopped functioning?
Let me know how the two compare for you.
