Arizer Solo

Here's my 2 cents ,
Arizer , obviously has chosen to change their manufacturing of their bowls from ceramic
to SS for good and is not returning back . I believe companies only make these changes/adapts
because it will effect their bottom line $$$ . The Ceramic issue has generated enough bad PR ,
that maybe Arizer thought it will be in their best interest to make the change and ensure future biz.
I mean , out of 300 pages of the solo thread , aprox . half was devoted to this chipping issue !
Good on Arizer for listening to their customers :)

After having my Solo for a couple days now, I've noticed an oversight in their programming. It would be nice to have a battery level indicator. I fully charged the unit before using it and have probably run 7 to 8 cycles with it. Am I at half way? (hypothetical question) or a quarter.. no way to know unless there's something I'm missing. It seems I remember someone earlier in the thread saying about a dozen cycles or so per charge.. I'm sure I'll figure it out, but it would be nice to be able to sequence a couple buttons and have it tell us where we're at.. I love this damn thing tho!! IT ROCKS!!

When you plug it in to charge the led's will tell you how much of a charge is left. PV stated that on the m1d's the battery indicator seemed to be off and would only light up to 1 or 2 when it had plenty of cycles left.

WTF don't listen to this kid lol. Alright since people are lazy all you have to do is turn the unit on. When it turns on it will flash what is left on the battery really quick. If you don't check then you are going to never know. So if its on all you have to do is turn it off then on again really quick to tell. Your welcome

If people are so lazy, why answer them? lol Do not listen to this kid, lol, thank you, I am no kid. You seem to have a problem with new posters asking certain questions, telling them to read the thread or the manual yet you still answer the question. If you have any problems with me I suggest you pm me and take it up there.

Oh it is garbage you do not want piling up? Then stop posting your own garbage about how they should stop being lazy and read the manual only to answer the question, how stupid is that if you are really trying to avoid garbage, by posting more clutter? You are trying to avoid garbage posts by posting more of your garbage responses to the questions. That is sure smart on your part. Then just ignore the questions. You were the ass that assumed I was a kid, your assumption not mine. Easy to see how you could make that mistake since you do not seem that bright.

Report what you consider to be a garbage post instead of creating more clutter by posting calling them lazy. Do I need my toy and sucker? I love internet tough guys like you who can only talk shit online.

mod note: do not try to handle bad behavior yourself, use the report button. Warning issued

Jesuz.. what a bunch of condescending pricks! I did read the manual and there's not a single word in there about how to check your battery level. I'm so sorry I disturbed the great guru's of the Solo Vaporizers! AND, I don't really want to have to plug the thing into the charger to see what the battery level is. Thanks for the tip Vapenstone.. I just reread the manual and there's not mention one of that in there. Thanks for all the help to the others. Trust me, I'll not bother you with any further questions. Please do not, I am already grounded...

For those that have the PVHES shorty stems, are you using a domed screen with them? With the stock solo stems with a domed screen they hold just about the right amount for me. I am not sure if I should get the standard or shorty PVHES when they get back in stock.

Thanks

Is it just me ?

But I cannot make out what their PVHES stems look like against their white background on
Planetvape's site !

I can't explain why that is important to me , but it is , I just want to see what I'm going to be ordering
and I will be ordering that's for sure :) Either from PV or from another vendor .

I know this has been mentioned before ;
But I like dipping my resin soaked stem tube in my morning cup of hot black coffee :)
Forget about adding that expresso shot , I get that now with my new favorite stirring utensil :)

And yes , there is still THC left in the resin , as I found out for myself ...happily .

Here's a quick Solo+HT Evolver Hydracirc vid using 14mm regular GonG stem+expander... still can't wait for the PVHES GonG, I know we are all waiting... Hoping for the better air flow, and to get the 18mm GonG so I don't need the adapter when out, less to loose or drop. LOVING the Cloud BTW!! :luv:

the phves seem to have 4 slits on it? anyone confirm? If the slits gives extra airflow = better functionality, could you maybe file down the normal stems and get the same effect?

edit: i just went thru page 300 and saw this from zangano "p.s: I modified all my regular and GonG stems with a Dremmel. SAFETY FIRST, ALWAYS WEAR GLASSES&GLOVES and have a water container next to you to cool down the drill bit and the glass stem, I don't know if hot/cold Is ok but worked for me
AND DO NOT EAT THE ABV TILL YOU ARE SURE NOT GLASS IS CHIPPING FROM STEMS. POLISH AND SAND GLASS WELL. USE A WOOD SKEWER FOR GROSS SANDING :) enjoy your mods :) "

i guess there's a lot more than just 'filing' the stem.

OK guys, Strange issue with my M102 Ceramic that I don't recall reading about:

Here's how both my Solos turned on before this issue:
  1. Press both buttons - The Idle light comes on, then turns off
  2. The Idle Light & the number 7 turn on for a second
  3. (The idle light stays on and) the current battery level is displayed using the number lights
  4. (The idle light stays on,) the number lights turn off, and you can select temp.
My M105 SS is still running fine, but here's what my M102 Ceramic is doing now:
  1. Press both buttons - The 1 light flickers on very briefly (it turns off way faster than the Idle light does on a regular unit)
  2. The number 7 & the number 3 turn on for a second
  3. (The Idle light stays off, and) The current battery level is displayed using the number lights
  4. (The Idle light stays off) the number lights turn off, and you can select temp as normal up to 4, but when you select 5, both 5 & 1 come on, when you select 6, both 6 & 2 come on, and when you select 7 both 7 & 3 come on...
Basically, The M102 was getting a bit low on charge (1 or 2 lights - where I normally let it go before I recharge), so I charged it, and it has this issue since.
I've vaped 1 stem, and it seems to still be functioning well, but I don;t really want to use it until I figure out what's going on.

I guess my next step would be to contact ariser, but since this unit has already been replaced for a SS (I contacted them when mine started chipping ages ago, and they sent out the SS as a replacement) I doubt it's still covered...

So...
Anyone have any ideas WTF is going on with my ceramic?

So my M102 is chipped all the way around. Theres only ceramic on the bottom and a bit on the bottom of the sides. I think it's still good to hit. What about you guys? doesn't it just turn into SS when it gets chipped?

Send it in for a replacement. The chipping is covered by warranty.

Edit: Unless of course you really want to keep your ceramic ... note: I'm getting an M1D today I believe in the mail, and have an M104 I just bought off a member (which is how I remember my Solo before I lost my original ceramic one ... not like the crappy M105 I've been using).

I'll post a comparison here between M104 and M1D later today/tomorrow (I'll test out side by side with same meds etc.). I've been using the M105 since Jan as my only portable option, so that is still fresh in my mind for a point of comparison as well.

Hey FM ,
I believe they made some upgrades to their battery also besides fixing the chipping issue .
I can't remember which version that started with though . ( lots of pages )
Maybe you have the version right before the change/improvement to their battery .

Which is why I suggested earlier to stick with purchasing the latest versions . ( for new buyers )
They usually have the kinks worked out by then :)

I am really happy with the purchase of my Solo from Puffitup.com. and the follow-up
customer service/interaction from Randy at PIU .
Is this what they mean by being a " Fanboy " ? for PIU .
I don't care , They offered me great service and I want to let my fellow FC members know about it :)

Also ,
I really do appreciate the warnings/alarm bells that other FC members raised against
other vendors out there .That is also a benefit for the members of FC .

Please Mods , allow us to do that without being silenced .
In a civilized manner would be good , but I can understand their angry sentiments ( $$$ )
It's what I like about FC ,
Weigh the pros and cons ....and make your own decision .

Ok , I'm off to work now ....Here comes the THC :)

Really loving my Solo now that I have had a chance to get comfortable with it. Works like a champ and the battery life is quite impressive(M1D if that matters). Couple of HOT topic questions; I put those MFLB battery caps on because I never finish a whole stem at once. I put them on while it is hot and wondered if anyone has ever melted one. No issues yet, but just curious. Second question. Do you guys feel comfortable leaving the Solo in a hot car all day? Will it overheat if left in a glove box of a car with outside temps in the 90's? Thanks!

Do not do that, I mentioned earlier in this thread that I left my solo in the car and when I got off work it was extremely hot in the glove box and would not turn on. Be very careful, lucky for me after it cooled down it started to function again. If you must do it be sure to crack the windows if possible.

Hey Soloists ,
I received my PA from PIU today :)
Thanx Randy , enjoying it as we speak .
Now there's no 3 hour down time for a full charge .

It seems like most battery operated portable vapes , a PA makes a nice enhancement for use . imo

So I still need to order a PA for my mflb and definitely get one for the T1 when I buy it :)

Forgive my ignorance ,
But when is the next American Holiday ?:brow:
You know why I'm asking .;)

I've never had my solo take that long to charge. Usually only takes an hour. But I do quick half hour charges during the day too
