You can find GonGs and glass for the solo at Verdampftnochmal.de. Their located in Berlin. I bought my "stealth/whip solo adapter" from them when planetvape was out of them for a year or so and it's high quality glass for a good price from Germany.

I suggest you contact Pipes, he can set you up with the right adapter. Not all 1.7X4 plugs are long enough to work.

There are also some cables recommended from Ebay (Play Station?) that work, but you'll need to be handy with a soldering iron to use them since the other end is USB.

I'd suggest PM to Pipes.

@OF - is the standard OEM Solo plug connector 1.7 x 4? I just need a short straight approx. 3/4" plug connector that goes from the OEM to a 5.5 x 2.1. Thanks!

They don't say. There are at least 3 different 4mm plug 'standards' (cell phones you know....), some work, some don't. I have 1.7s that work, some that don't make reliable contact. I have some 1.6s that fit and work, some that don't (apparently too small).

On ebay, I'm going to send emails to the US supplier and find out the real deal about 'extra charges' with purchases and returns from the UK.
This is when I'm ready to get the Solo (cos I've just got an FF).
If there's any interesting info on charges, I'll let everyone know.
However, I'm sure we can all agree that vaporisers are much cheaper in the US.

It would be great if finally we get a comparison between the 'legendary' log vape and a legend like the Solo.
Which log vape are you getting? Some dude from the UK started a log vape business but he seems to have disappeared.
Hopefully, you'll start a thread on your 'log vape v solo' experience.

I too am excited to experiment with it, I really like my solo. mate just got a mighty and I have to say it is pretty fucking awesome. there was more than a twinge of vape envy from me but since then i been hitting the solo dry stem a lot more and realised i forgot how good that can be

Not really the place for it, and there are a few dead threads with many comparisons between solo and log vapes and log vapes to log vapes, but seems in the opinion of those who've used both quite a bit log vapes are superior in every respect except one - portability.

IMO it's not even really a fair comparison. solo is a nice vape for what it is, but it can't hold a candle to my nano if I'm anywhere near AC power. Drop me an IM if you'd like more info.

I would offer an additional exception to portability where the Solo (conduction vape) rivals a log vape (convection), namely, the enjoyment of fine pipe tobaccos. Conduction vapes, I have found, such as the Solo, deliver a much more concentrated array of roasty, toasty, nutty, sweet, pure tobacco flavors over convection. At a leisurely pace, the Solo heat soaks the tobacco much more fully than my logs do, and produces a much more dense and flavorful vapor. The more moist the tobacco is the better to transport all those succulent decadent flavors, but too moist may prove unproductive at some point.

On a completely different note: A huge thanks to @Pipes for reaching out to me with the solution to my quest for the Solo PA/Charger OEM to 5.5 connector adapter! I have been using his Solo products since 2013, and they make the Solo an absolute treat to use!

I broke 30 stems my first year.

When @OF made the recommendation to add a 113 seal I stopped breaking them!

I have no more GonG's for the SOLO and need to order more.

Hey, you have a candidate for a cool mod. I had a broken stem in which the bowl was good as well. This is what I ended up doing...
Still working like a champ too.

Uh oh. Was using my Solo yesterday and shut it off before the automatic time out so that I could continue on a higher temp without the bowl cooling down too much. But now it won't turn back on - just the blue IDLE light illuminates for a second, but the device won't actually turn on or heat. I tried charging it, letting it sit overnight, but no luck. Anyone experience this? Is there a fix, or must I say farewell to a trusty friend?

EDIT: I should say the Solo is about 3 years old at this point - thanks for the help!

Took my Solo and Air on a two day beach trip. I needed something discreet and I needed the quick heat up time of the Solo. It's great to being able to turn it off after my session was over. It also cools off fairly quickly when needed to be stored away. The Air is so small and portable nobody gave it a second look.

We stayed in a state park where it is posted no mj. I have a medical cert but I don't want any unwanted attention.

@2 Cycle @OF is right, power down and zone out.
Good Saturday to all you Solo fans out there. Taking life slow and easy today too.

I was looking around for a good portable vape, tried a haze first but it just wasn't for me. I ended up ordering a Solo last weekend with a PV standard gong, a PVHE shorty gong, and an extra straight mp.

I got the Solo and accessories yesterday and was pretty disappointed with how hard it was to draw on the standard straight tube and gong. I like big hits and sipping is not my thing!! :cuss::bang:

Then I tried the PVHE gong and what a difference that made. Finally I was able to take a decent rip without feeling like I was going to collapse a lung! But I bought this for a portable and that means a bong isn't always available.

I tried all day today to use the Solo with the stock stuff and felt like I was trying to suck a golf ball through a hose. I was kinda pissed but figured I'd just have to order some stems from PV. Then it came to me!!!! I used my dab torch and heated the shit outta the end of one of the stems, the part that goes in the Solo, I got one section glowing red then took my dab tool and pushed on the glass while it was still in the flame. It was soft enough that I was able to make an indentation in the glass, I then did it to the opposite side. Way better air flow now and I saved myself $30 plus shipping. It freaking rips now!!!:rockon::love:

Not quite as good on a bong as the LSV but a hell of a lot better for passing around between buddies:2c::peace:

Also try using a very loose pack with the Solo, maybe you already tried that. I have been using the PVHE Vortex stem which is very easy to draw from. I can also use a higher temperature with that stem its an inch longer than the standard Solo stem.

I didn't like a restricted draw either with the older model Solo. I didn't noticed that restricted with the newer version 2014 Solo. We all have our different likes and dislikes and that's OK. You want the optimal Solo experience for you. Welcome to the fun. There are so many nice folks especially on this thread.:love:

I guess coming off an LSV and just recently making the switch from combusting to vaping everything has a restricted draw :lol: It seriously felt more restrictive than the haze. The serial number starts with m17b so I'm pretty sure I got the latest version.

Anywho this thing rocks now:rockon: I love how many hits I can get off it, I can see how it can conserve some major weed:clap::clap:

Just for S&G and in the name of Science of course I loaded the PVHE shorty and put a tiny dab on top this morning. The first session I got 4 huge rips on 5, turned it up to 6 and took 3 more rips. It was still tasting good but I was vaked!!! :science::science:

I set it down and chilled for an hour or so. I turned the Solo up to 7 put it back on the bong and started hitting it when it reached level 5. I just got 5 more hits outta the bowl and I could probably get 2-3 more before it starts tasting bad.

F yeah the Solo rocks :rockon::rockon: I'm freaking vaked!!
