Ok, I have no idea what you're talking about.
The maths is a bit complicated and it doesn't make sense either.
I'm guessing you're toking on the vape, but my point is I can buy the Solo from the US and it's still cheaper for me.
If I have a warranty issue, I'll need to call Arizer in Canada and send it to them. It would be better if I could send the unit to a domestic onlinr retailer or get them to negotiate a replacement without having to return anything.
Even so, I think it's better to buy the unit at a cheaper price from the US. Hopefully, nothing will be wrong with the unit.

@miroslav you will have to pay extra, my original point was that if you buy from a uk supplier it will be easier and unlikely to end up costing more. you will pay vat and you will have to pay import charges and maybe a surcharge from your courier and if you dont pay then your cheap solo wont even clear customs

Seems too cheap to be legit, plus why are they coming out of Hong Kong? I could be wrong.

And 0 feedback to boot. $40 seems incredibly suspiciously low a price... We have not had any reports of counterfeit Solos in this thread yet, at least no members have bought a suspected counterfeit and taken it apart. I'd love to see what's inside this $40 solo but can't bring myself to risk the money (little as it may be) and would hate to see someone else get gamed like that.
I have not had any problems with my Solo, bought February last year? Heavy heavy use, not seen any strange anything with mine. Less than $10 a month at this point if you break it down by price to time. Given the amount of use and abuse it's seen if it broke right now I would be quite upset but go out and get another one to replace it. If you buy from a EU vendor they may be able to act as a middleman for your warranty, I know that there are one or two retailers US-side that would fix you up with any warranty issues so you don't have to send it international. Hit up the euro vendor with an email and see if they provide warranty stuff themselves as opposed to having to send it to Canada yourself. Given that you're much farther from Arizer than I am it might be worth the peace of mind to spend a few extra dollars.

I'm sorry you didn't follow, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with my being intoxicated. If you read it again I'm suggesting you might plan to throw a possible defective one out and replace it, based on the numbers you provided?
The risk of that is, I think small and the savings substantial. Customs/duties may change that, they were not part of the original problem.
I agree with you, buying at a deep discount from the US may be the best deal for you, I'm suggesting you consider alternatives to sending it back should service be needed?
The Kid, once again, brings up a good point. IMO it's worth paying attention when he offers advice. Let me put it another way. Given they are made in Canada why would a legitimate one be shipped to China to be sold at a loss? It reeks of being counterfeit.

Counterfeit is perhaps the wrong term, I doubt they really exist? "Ghosts" might be more appropriate?
One thing sure, if you actually get one from them at that price it won't be coming with legit serial numbers....... Counterfeit or stolen, it's still a scam dollars to doughnuts.

Also curious if anyone who purchased a vortex Gong could compare / contrast with regular PVHES gong and or PVHES turbo gong?

My Solo (Feb. 2014 edition) bit it this weekend, while on Vacation (blue idle light on constant), went on Google and saw a suggestion to tap inside the heating chamber (I used an x acto handle) and I'll be damned if it didn't come back to life. I am being very careful not to bump it, so far, so good. I ordered a backup already, but when it gets here, I'm going to send in the old one for warranty if it starts up again. Does anyone know the source of such an issue? I've treated this thing like a glass slipper since I've owned it, never used while charging, no cracks on the bottom, never dropped, etc.

IMO the most likely culprit is an "open" (that is break) in the heater. Tapping simply closed the crack up enough to make contact again. I agree, repair is in order. It will come back no doubt.

I'm sure Arizer will do you right. Glad you will be getting another Solo then you can send the other one back and you won't be Sololess. Every household cannabis enthusiast needs at least one.
The Solo has a way with producing nice vapor flavor. It seems like the log vape of the portables - it works similar. Maybe not quite as hard a hitter but some might argue with that thought.

I'm totally blank when it comes to using water attachments for your solo. I own a 14mm GonG but my standard bong always felt too voluminous for the solo. Furthermore I own a old solo and with the draw restriction the whole setup isn't what I expected.
Also I fell down the stairs with my bong so it's only a duct-tape-bong anymore.
If always see people like "yeah i got the FC-xx with PVHES GONG and this and that" and I'm like, "ok I got a GonG with carbs in the filling chamber, what's next?"
Sitting here in germany, got my next headshop 30 minutes away but have no idea what I'd be looking for. Does it make sense to order glass like from canada? Maybe the shop can order stuff as well. They got me the GonGs for the solo so maybe the can get more of that stuff.
What water pipes are good for the solo, is there a list of all the models you guys use?
Is it worth to get the new solo model just for water sessions with better airflow, as I use my mighty as my main portable these days.
