Thanks @OF you explained that perfectly. I'm quite sure Arizer would "work with me" should something come up, which i'm confident it won't (but you never know). This M1A model is obviously older (although brand new) since it doesn't have the charge and use feature, which from what I understand isn't necessarily a bad thing? I'm seeking a battery bypass adapter for this Solo, but for "newer model" solo's that have the charge & use feature, this bypass adapter is useless correct?

You're welcome.

Yes, I'm one of the guys that likes the older model better. Enough so to buy two of them "open box" from PIU when the last 'came up'. I figure I'm set.....

While the voltages for the PA mode is different (7 to 9 VDC at 2.5 Amps or more), contact Pipes, he can set you up with a rig that will both do PA (with the appropriate Solo of course) and charge normally (12 VDC at 1 Amp) as well. His so called "AIO" (All In One).

Hello friends, I came across a great deal on a BNIB Solo (M1A) so I simply could not resist. Had a session with a 1/2 filled aroma tube (without a screen, for a first) and was blown away by the flavour and vapour density! I did notice that the bent stem has more airflow than the straight, even though the hole sizes look the same.

So now it's time to accessorize! Previously I was using EpicVapes open bored adjustable basket screen gong, but it just barely fit and stretch out the teflon ring somewhat. Furthermore, EV's newer gong's are thicker and don't fit at all, so now it's time to look to PV! I see everything is in stock (unusual) and i'm curious what gong I should buy.

So, i'm thinking of just sticking with the stock gong (NON-pvhes), and taking my draws nice and slow, but I wonder if I should get the pvhes version as well? I understand that the QC on these are hit and miss because they aren't made of "cut aroma tubes", and i'm concerned about "too much airflow" which I though i've experienced in the past. Time has lapsed and my tastes have changed over time, so I wonder if it's worth it to buy both? And is anyone happy with the open bore turbo style? I suppose I could just buy all 3, but i've been on a VAS and GAS bender lately, and need to slow it down!

What if it was a gift? I registered my Solo on arizer's website, and I received an autogenerated reply that a receipt is needed for proof of date of purchase. But what if a Solo is received as a gift with no chance of getting the receipt....will Arizer leave those of us in the dark?

Fortunately, i've own ALOT of Solo's....i'm not kidding when I say over a dozen....and i've never ever had a single glitch with any of them, so hopefully warranty will never even be needed.

I would get the pvhes gong. I got the shorty pvhes and standard gong attachment but ended up having to modify the stock one so it hit like the pvhes.

Funny you should mention the bent tube hits easier than the straight tube, I just tried the bent tube last night and it was hitting great. I then tried an unmodified stock straight tube and it was a much harder draw :\

Thanks dude, i'll take your advice....I don't have much issue with stock, but with this brand new one it's a much harder draw. Either the newer Solo's really did improve their airflow, or it's just the teflon ring. My previous solo had it loosened up, so I could rock/tilt the stem to get any airflow I liked. I think this new one just needs to be worked in.

I know there is a delicate balance between not enough airflow, and too much.... I thought the pvhes would be too whispy, but perhaps contingent on airflow.

Why would the bent have better airflow than the straight...I just don't get that! lol

Hey guys I need a new vape. Air or Solo and which website is best..

IMO Puff it Up is the best call. Lowest prices (probably) and super fast shipping. Priority Mail will ship today from Nevada, you could easily have it Saturday with a fair wind, if not, Monday for sure. PV in Canada is another good call, great values considering the exchange rate, but will take a bit longer to get there.

Best of luck with quitting smoking for good. Save on bud bills (use maybe 1/3 the former volume) and get to live longer to enjoy it and the kids.

It depends......(doesn't it always?).

Solo has longer charge life, more heat steps and a more accurate/useful 'battery meter'.

Air is smaller (in diameter only), shorter battery life (but user changeable batteries) and comes with shorter stems.

Stems interchange. If you go with Air, buy at least one factory battery with it. If you go with Solo buy at least one 'plastic topped' Air stem (either 60 or 70mm). Not only is it more compact but it is designed to fit into a 14mm GonG connector when you decide to try out Water Tools......

You're sure to be quite happy with either, but not a complete man until you have both. You should also think about a back up vape, both for insurance or a change of pace. I suggest considering VG or VM (a personal favorite), both lighter powered and under $100, and excellent vapes in their own right with strong followings.

I had 2 solos and an extreme q before I think it's time for the air. Seems like it would last longer with the interchangeable batteries and later on I'll get the battery charger for longer unit life. As long as it's as potent as the solo I'm sold!! Thanks again I really appreciate it!! OF is always there from day one on this couple years back!!

Toronto Vaporizer if you are in Canada. Free shipping. Free Zeus bolt grinder. All and all great company to do business with.

Understood, but PIU is, I think, a better call. They too offer free shipping and quicker than anyone else can match I think.

Besides, if you lived in Canada you'd have to use those little dollars........

I once got a replacement from 'Randy' in under 24 hours. Honestly, I emailed my order in about 11 AM one day and had it in hand at 10 AM the next day! Within hours it was at the PO and tracking. If you order right now, it'll no doubt be on it's way this evening.

Great! You're welcome, of course. Now the watching of the PO shipping site can start.......

Please let us know how you like it when you get it?

Congrats and best wishes,

If I use the Solo 90 something % time when I'm home, I'm wondering if I should let my battery go down and then charge back up all the time or just use it plugged in and run it off the power adapter ? (as far as the long term preservation of the battery is concerned)

I have the a newer Solo that you can use while charging and I still have the power adapter from the older Solo I had. Wondering if there's any differences from using the power adapter and the basic charger that comes with the newer Solos, which appears to do the same function.

I'm so loving my AA, makes me want to try the Solo so bad. I love the idea of long life, I don't take it out of the house. Somebody talk me out of having 2 AA's and VAS'ing for a SOLO, it's bad. I freakin want one. How much, if any, different is the AA, other than the obvious?

Do the first (plug it in only to recharge as needed). Leaving it 'plugged in all the time so it's always ready to go' is probably the worst thing you can do to the battery WRT it's useful life.

Simply leaving it 100% charged (and never actually using it) will kill the battery......which is why it's not fully charged when you get it (charging past 60% could lead to 'dead out of the box, brand new' failures.

@Alex43rd Congradualtions on baby number 3. The Air will be a nice addition to your family also. I'm going to be ordering me a couple of JoDa stems too from PIU. They are really beautiful. A good price matched with the Air vaporizer. If I didn't already have one I'd be buying one too.

The Air is well built just like the Solo so it should last you a long time. With the new baby you will want to save some money. If you've gone back to smoking, you know how fast your product goes up in smoke. Vaporizing definitely saves money on the cannabis budget.

EDIT
You know your vaked when you get your threads mixed up - I thought I was in the Air thread. I use the Solo more than the Air. I go through PIU quite a bit because of the price and customer service.

Hi. I've only posted a couple of times, but I wanted to compare notes on my Solo. I've only been vaping for about three months. What a change! About three weeks in I was curious and rolled a skinny joint. I could only smoke a few tokes. It was disgusting, like licking an ashtray.

Anyway, about the Solo. With some experimentation, and upside down, domed, then flattened a bit screen, I've been getting great dense clouds with the straight stock stem. But the glass makes me nervous, particularly for travel, and I also find the outside diameter a little large for comfort.

So I bought an Ed's TNT stem from puffitup (discount code from the solo purchase). It arrived two days ago, and is absolutely gorgeous! I love the tapered end, It's very comfortable. But I'm not getting thick vapor. I've experimented a number of ways. The capacity seems considerably bigger than the stock stem, and I really didn't feel like I was getting much vapor when it wasn't full. The best results have been from a similar set up to the stock, with the upside down, domed, slightly flattened screen. With the stock stem I get the best clouds by rocking, twirling, and lifting the stem up a tiny bit. Not getting the same results with the wood stem. Any tricks?
