This sounds similar to my problem mentioned here, and I am hoping that yours is not heading down the same path...

Here is what Arizer had to say on the matter:

My unit works in all avenues except battery power illumination.Whether you plug intoPA or use on battery or if you plug into charger. No battery illumination what so ever. In all 3 scenarios when using unit on battery ,or plugging in to PA or charger, A quick flash of the #7 light and then right to blue idle. form there I can use unit by choosing any heat temp I want. Red heater light works, green charging light works, heat temperture lighting works (telling you what temp your at).Every aspect except your not able to see battery use discharge or charge.I did the reset and to no avail, in simpler terms everything works except that damn battery illumination to tell you where yur at as far as battery level is concerned.I only use battery 2x a week ,to where I bring it down to battery level light # 2 and charge always to #7 and disconnect with charge light still flashing. Bummer with no battery meter:\

This is the part we had in common, which is why I said that it was similar (although mine had far worse symptoms on top of this) and hope that it is not a sign that it's starting to fail. I was unable to see how mine failed (suddenly, or gradually) since it went from working beautifully, to stuffed in a box for a few months, to not working at all.

If it's still under warranty you might want to consider returning it, before it isn't, and you regret it.

Thank You P.H.,I am getting a hold of my dealer now, and yes my came out of left field.Funny thing is the thing works great still but as you say HOW much longer before it kamikazes and is useless. Shame,I took good care of it, followed OF's battery charging advice and it has been flawless. For it to be able to still cook at levels5-7,even though no batt indicator is strange. You would think most operations of the unit would be toast but just battery indicator? WTF bro????? driving me nuts:mental:and frustrating as all hell:bang:

EDIT I was hoping the guru's came on to help or offer what they may think it is, or if going in and disconnecting batt may help?.I dont know if batt has soldered connections or has quick disconnect/connect fittings on board.I hate to send it in but I guess if no one offers as you did:tup:, then I guess im going to have to and hopefully dont get a run around.Do yo know if Arizer has a phone number?

Maybe Arizer is tracking by serial # now...I know PV is one of their best customers.

Quick update on the new Solo. Definitely a newer better product than all my old ones....the software is quicker, and more responsive for sure. Heats up in the same speed...about 30s to 2 and 1:30 to 7. IMO the biggest change next to charging/using simultaneously is the airflow! I thought it was going to be subtle or not noticeable but it's quite an improvement! No more milkshake effect or headaches. Nice job Arizer!!!

I've only started playing....ok vapour on 4, better on 5....tried a fresh bowl on 7 and though the vapour was thick enough to be happy, but the ABV is between light and medium brown, no more vapour, but not coffee grind dark. I'm assuming this is due to the increased airflow...worth it. Imma gunna try again being more cognizant of my technique. Best portable ever! I wanna Inhalater 005 when they are released, but based PH's feedback on the quality of the silver, me thinks me needs a silver too.

Now for those of you that use a water tool and gong. Did you know that Epic Vape's E-Nano adjustable gong works perfecty in the Solo for only $14? It's super thick glass (thicker than PV's) and is basically a turbo gong! They also have all glass gong's! Nano stems also work in the Solo. This is awesome, saves me cash, get's me the turbo, and get's two birds stoned at once! I also don't have to stress over PV getting gong's in stock :D

I love my Solo!

I can tell you that there definitely is no soldering required. I found my Solo relatively easy to take apart, but I take apart everything I own. Caution should always be taken when disassembling electronics to ensure one does not get in over one's head.

You can find the tutorial I followed, as well as some upgraded battery packs here: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapepower-high-performance-vaporizer-batteries.9571/

However, in my case a new battery wound up having no effect. Whatever you do, be very careful not to break the little clips that hold the battery cover onto the unit, as that is apparently a common problem.

I see no mention of a phone number on their site, and they did not provide me one in my dealings with them. Perhaps if you e-mail them, they may be able to give you a number upon request.

OMG i'm destroyed on some Kosher Kush that I thought wasn't going to be very good....used it with the Nano gong on temp 7 with a small heat soak via bubbler...wow, the vapour just kept billowing!

I'm very satisfied with this Solo...it's definitely exceeded my expectations, and i'm a picky mofo! I think I have finally found my own personal favourite vape trifecta --> EVO/Cloud + E-Nano + Solo = My Vape Utopia! Unfortunately or fortunately there will be an Inhalater 005 in my hands to complicate things further.

Being dragged by the wife to hot yoga.....this is gonna be a trip! It's the intense detox class! lol Soloed OUT!

EDIT: Also wanted to add that i'm very sensitive to odours and offgassing, and all my previous Solo's required quite diligent cycling through power 7 a number of times to get rid of that hot solder smell. Not only is this new Solo not as "acrid" and strongly offputting as the others, it seems to have disappeared or at least greatly dissapated after only one cycle! I have used a few bowls, and another cycle on 7 without anything, and my sensitive shnoz cannot detect ANY odour whatsoever.

This Solo feels so refined...it's like they perfected it. And makes sense after a couple of years, just like their Extreme model.

It's very easy using wax inside the herb, kinda like an herb wax sandwich. The herb absorbs all the oil. The herb gets pretty dark. You can also put some wax inside a bit of cotton and vape that. I usually use my Solo on the higher temps for when I do that.

The Solo is a wonderful tool. It's very easy to use different water tools with too.

I would suggest focusing on your draw speed. Slow it down a bit and run it on 4 for a whole entire session.

I'll try it tonight and see how it compares to dabbing.
Dabbing is so different.
SOLOing if their is such a word is different.

I do both.

Before bed a quick SOLO stem with some INDICA flowers is very nice.
I was dabbing before bed however the headaches are something I'll have to pass.

Use the SOLO as you feel fit!
In time like I have found it never let's me down!

Good luck with your's and I hope you find your sweet spot!

Dont know WTF happened. I went to turn the unit on via battery power and my battery illumination came back up and I knew unit was charged but had run 3 sessions be4 getting the gremlins coming in., I was at level 5 in charge and unit is now back to may I say...NORMAL? I always remember my old man saying things about cars and one was"they all run best before they blow ":hmm: Im hoping this will not hold true with my Solo.I will be keeping a close eye on this bitch. Hopefully what ever it was is gone, but if not I'll be whining about it,sorry I love this little work horse, be lost with out it, thats why I have 2 and the new one seems to be a lot more refined in its efficiency. Thank you for your support, the forum rocks and oozes with good peeps such as those here and other threads around the forum:tup:

Will do, but this newer improved airflow definitely makes a huge difference. I wonder if a 2 hole stem would work even better now, to force a tiny bit of airflow? Imma gonna try @lazylathe all glass gong he lent me ages ago (soon I swear! lol)....i think it has 4 holes, as opposed to my open bore turbo now.

One more errand/appointment and i'm free to test more! lol What a fun day it turned out to be! Although I had to bail on the hot yoga 5 mins early because of my appointment, or maybe because I looked like a wet rat! lol

I have to second this. Refined is perhaps the perfect adjective to describe it. Some manufacturers choose to introduce revisions to their products which are in fact cost-cutting measures, but it seems as though Arizer has done the opposite. After 24 hours with it, this unit conveys a much more enjoyable experience to me, and my unit was just under two years old. In fact, I've been cycling back and forth between it and my Da Buddha, not because I am mobile, but because I am enjoying it that much.

Last night I finally got the cojones to take my solo out on a walk with Ed's Granadillo stem. I walked to the grocery store and ended up getting about 25# of food that I had to carry home over a mile, while puffing on the solo. Too much stuff. Of course one of the bag handles ripped. :)

I need more practice with ed's stem though. I think I need to find a way to restrict airflow. I couldn't seem to get much vapor, even at a 6, maybe the stem is best for sipping off of, rather than taking a smaller number of large draws? The stem is damn beautiful though.

I think I will start bringing my solo with me on my walks at night every once in a while. Might as well enjoy the flowers, no? I think it might take two sessions to get all of the vapor out of the wood stem compared to the same capacity in glass, but maybe I'm wrong. When it timed out I blew it out into my palm, but I was under city lights so I couldn't really tell how vaped it was until I popped it into my mouth and tasted the warm oils still in the bud. Yum.... tasted like buttered popcorn.

Is the ed's stem open bore turbo style? If so, I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm getting the same thing with my Nano open bore stem with the Solo. I've been experimenting with different draw speeds but it doesn't work as well as the stock stem. For the gong however, the open bore doesn't seem to make a difference.

It's awesome taking the Solo on the go. It's been great my first day back with it on the patio, cordless water tool vaping. The battery is great, and a new thing i've noticed...it seems to hold it's temp better? I mean, in the past as soon as it hit a temp level it would stabalize, and the heater would kick in after a bit to maintain. This new one maintains and maintains it seems, and the heater doesn't kick in until I start drawing on it!

I love my Solo (especially using E-Nano gong)!

You sure? I've noticed with my older Solo that once it gets up to temp, it will consistently trigger the light again after about 7 seconds. I think maybe it has to do with the glass still heat-saturating? Try it out, I just did a packed stem straight to 7 and it took 7 seconds to re-heat.

I find that my African Blackwood Stem needs to be run at 7, and for prolonged periods of time. I think that the steel needs more time to heat up and conduct into the load than the glass does. This is probably why your results were lacking if you kept heating it up, and cooling it off by taking heavy draws through it.

This is, of course, just my theory.

Your theory is correct. It is open bore. It takes longer to get to a stable temp compared to the glass, and I let it stabilize for around 2 minutes in between draws, but that might not have been long enough, unless they shine better as sippers for around the garden or something, which would actually be just fine, for taking walks I don't need lung busters. :)

It's just really hard to draw slow because there is no restriction, at all. I think it's possible, just difficult. I just need to practice! :) Hopefully I remember to throw it on the charger as soon as I get home!

It fit into my pocket okay, except for one of the cashier gals at the grocery store asked me for my phone number for some reason.

Yeah I have to agree, the only difference in the stem with regards to vaping is glass vs. metal. I think a thinner tube would be better as long as it doesn't get bent or something.

The airflow is just awesome now....there is no way the Solo should have a reputation as a "restricted air milkshake effect" type of vaporizer. In fact, if anything there is maybe a bit too much, but it's perfect. I find i'm using 4 the most, and sometimes bump it up a notch or two to finish off a bowl. The airflow with my gong is awesome in the bubbler with great clouds.

I can't find a single thing I don't like about the new Solo, if I wanna be picky...maybe the connection from the charger to the Solo isn't snug as i'd like it, but it's not loose by any means.

Is it better for the battery for me to use the charger while I vape as I am beside an outlet? OR, is it better to charge it up, and use the battery as I please and charge it at the end of the day or between sessions?

You sure? I've noticed with my older Solo that once it gets up to temp, it will consistently trigger the light again after about 7 seconds. I think maybe it has to do with the glass still heat-saturating? Try it out, I just did a packed stem straight to 7 and it took 7 seconds to re-heat.

How old is your Solo? This is a brand new M1Y...maybe different software? Imma go test again and report back!

EDIT: Tested and time to report! I'm trippin huge....so get this...the heater does maintain its temp pretty well (I think). Basically once, the Solo is nice and warm, it will reach the select temp and stay there. If it's cold, the heater may turn on and cycle every so often, but when the Solo is really warmed up, the Solo will hit say temp 5, and stay there WITHOUT the heater turning on. I mean I went over 90 secs without the heater turning on. I thought it was a glitch, but every single time I go to pull on the stem, the heater kicks in!

So, I was trying and testing more, and I tried it without a stem in the oven. It behaved the same, with the heater not kicking in, even after a minute (level 6 this time), and as soon as I give the oven a couple of mouthblasts of air, the heater kicks in! Tested it again and again with the same results.

The heater will kick in with I raise the temp obviously, so i'm wondering if it really is a glitch, or normal and the heater just maintains it's temp easily without a draw on it.

I got mine yesterday, and it is no glitch. I am running a stem at 6 as we speak, and once it heats up the only, and I mean only time the Heat LED kicks in is when I draw on the unit. Even then, it might flash 3 times, at most.

Got off work and opened a sweetWATER IPA and started a stem of blueberry in the solo.
Current mood-:)

You mean.... this IPA?

I was enjoying some SweetWater this morning myself...

Probably not a good sign when you need a beer with breakfast, but.... damn, if this unfiltered IPA ain't "sweeter" than heaven...
