Arizer Solo 3

I started out way back in the day with the Solo V1, I currently rock/(rediscovered) the V2, and tomorrow my V3 will be delivered :D

In all honesty, the biggest change I am looking forward to is the USB-C charging. Sure some of the other bells and learning curve whistles will be cool, but the basic functionality of this vape will remain the same Im sure.
My first vape was the OG Solo. The S3 is a superset of all the Solos before. It can do everything they can do, and the on-demand mode adds a whole new dimension to the vape. The heater is so much more agile and powerful that you can combust with it.

I think you'll have a great time with it but this isn't your Daddy's Solo

Lost in Thought
Im digging all of the comments and suggestions. And yes, preparing myself for the next iteration of this vape. :D

And yeah, the stock tubes are an 'acquired taste'. I went ahead and ordered a couple of the bent ones, and I might even reinvest in a WPA and separate bubbler for sessions like that.

My current 'bubbler' is the one designed for my Switch. (Which is a pretty niche design)

I've been a Solo guy since forever, I'm eyeing up the solo 3, but I'm reading multiple reports of the vapor being really hot and harsh?

Also the only reason I haven't bought one already is because I've had multiple Solo 2s and great as they are, they all error5 after a couple of years. I guess it's too early to know if Solo 3 has similar issues?

The S3 gave me hits so harsh I went back to the S2! I've NEVER had a vape that hurt my lungs until the S3. And that was for two of them as I had the first one replaced under warranty.

Yes, the vapor can be harsh if:

1. You use the stock stems.
2. You run the temp over 380-400. Providing a guesstimate range based on my experience and trying to account for different personal tolerances. YMMV

To avoid "harsh" vapor:

1. Use the WPA with a bong. This is how I do it on the weekends to obliviate reality. Cools through the bong. No issues other than tons of vapor that can be hard to breathe in first time or so because it is a LOT of vapor production. The 3 is no joke. You will cough most likely your first few times with it.

2. Use a longer custom stem. The XL stem they give you with the vape is woefully inadequate in terms of providing a comfortable ride at anything over 370/380F. IMHO.

The vape is my main on the weekends because I have nothing that produces clouds like it. And you know how it is on the weekends? Time to forget your work week and problems.....and the 3 is more than capable to accomplish this.

Good points. I would just add you can also use the WPA with a dry pipe or j-hook. It'll provide better cooling than the stock stems.

I typically like to start my bowl around 314 or 338 depending on present terpenes.. My fiancé likes hers around 369 because she doesn't care about the taste, so I take the first couple hits at my low temps. We always share a bowl and there are times I can't hardly finish the bowl with her unless I have something to drink with it.. the long draws really dry out your throat over time.. nothing a nice refreshing water can't fix

Yes, I have a large 32 oz cup I fill before I head to my space station for blast off. Sometimes I'll make a nice herbal tea w honey also. This does help quite a bit with all the vapor.

@invertedisdead, it's nice that you own and use the Solo since you can use your own judgement to tell how well the designs taste and function. What might you personally want to see in this space as a Solo enthusiast?

IMHO the simplest idea would be to port over my TinyMight Essentials stem concept, which would look like this

temp-Image-Qoad74.avif

FEATURES
- Inert medical grade zirconia ceramic
- Discrete opaque black color
- XL bowl capacity
- Tapered screen ledge
- Mesh screen for high airflow and EZ cleaning (can run a pipe cleaner through the entire stem)
- Built in 14MM WPA
- 3 hole Convection Air Cooling (Inlet holes are automatically blocked off when using as a WPA, so the air cooling only works in direct draw mode)

I have some more advanced concepts too but this one would be pretty easy to get going and should be affordable / accessible for anyone.

Appreciate all the input and suggestions from everyone :leaf:

However, my experience was through an Ice Bong, and turned down to 350F! The second one at least didn't combust at 350!!
