Arizer Solo 3

I got a more complex version of that from AliExpress, but it fits over the Arizer WPA. I have since used it on a couple of different vapes and really like it.

Just wait until you add an Angus Enhanced and another small, black vape. You can have fun trying to remember how to turn each on and off, how to adjust temperatures etc. Heck, even remembering which is which becomes a problem after a couple of bowls.

Has anyone tried the Gordito Mini Glass Bubbler with the Solo 3? AliExpress sells one for the Arizers.

Link did not work for me, but I would highly recommend not using something like that here, much better to use WPA and keep the Solo upside down on a regular glass rig (Hopefully good vibes boro will make more of the one I have available, and stems, that are a little loose fitting for quick removal and clearing each hit also more airflow with mesh screens instead of glass holes)

Whoops, sorry 'bout that. I updated and fixed the link

@Shit Snacks , I plan on using the WPA and a bong, but I only smoke outside, and the bubble mouthpiece appeals to me as an easier solution when it's 30 degrees F outside! When it's warmer, I have no problem taking the bong and the vape out on a tray and enjoying my backyard.
It does look convenient, but you're one cough away from blowing your heater full of water.

Yeah I specifically didn't say a bong, still something small, and mobile, more like this I guess not necessarily always one-handed, but it's much better to use two hands clearing etc... I just really don't understand how you really load and unload a piece like that easily, hard to get the water in and out for changing cleaning, also yeah extra risk involved spilling water into the device itself... I would highly recommend going for a dry setup in any event if that is your situation, much better with hooks like this:
(that's what I've been using with my GVB 18 mm loose fit WPA a lot now)

Well.. I do 😄 Instead I don’t like mesh screens.

Most glass stems with “glass hole screens”, unfortunately have larger holes then SS or titanium wire screens.
This can lead to the small bits of weed getting sucked into your mouth and lungs, especially any weed dust. This can lead to more coughing etc. This can be helped if using the device through water rigs. I have a few, never use them.
(wire screens can be had with different size holes too)

When I don’t use it upside down with the bong, I press whole nugs into a dimpled cooling stem. This eliminates the bits of little bits being sucked in. The reclaim in the stem helps catching the weed dust. I like the idea of having no additional parts that have to be replaced over time, this also makes cleaning a breeze. I have no problems with coughing whatsoever.

The problem with the glass screens is not so much the hole size and the number of holes. It is very common for the weed to block off one of more holes leading to draw restriction. They do de-bowl much easier.

interesting!

I'm not too worried about pushing water into the oven. Reviews of the Gordito are pretty positive.
Here's a pic of the Gordito on the Solo

I also found this one on dhgate. So many options!

I have that one, and I used to have others that are similar, also larger hydro tubes, I've tried them in that form factor, but yeah I don't think I ever will again, I prefer to keep the things upside down now and yeah I just would hate dealing with the other one as I said for so many reasons, but I understand why it is appealing for you, guess you'll see

Well, using “whole nugs”, is obviously a different use case. Personally, when I play with whole nugs, I use them in my “conduction” devices, so the oven can cook em…
I find whole nugs in my “convection” devices that can use glass stems with built in glass screens, they create less airflow, and don’t cook as well. Hard to pull enough heat through a hard nug, but this could be device dependent.
YMMV…..

How can I see the battery level when the device isn't plugged in?

Also, can I use any 5V 3A adapter?
I just took a quick look through the manual and saw nothing related to the battery level. And yes, any decent 5V USB charger will work.

@old-fart You need to turn it on and get into heating mode. And that is only a graph, not a useful percentage.

I think it needs a USB-A old style charger. Fast chargers won't work.

Thanks, but USB-a is the plug type, and has nothing to do with the power provided. I have 5V 1A chargers that don't seem to charge the Solo 3, and 5v 3A/9V 2.25A chargers that I hesitate to try since I don't know if the Solo 3 will request the correct voltage from the adapter. There are a few 5V 3A adapters on Amazon and Ali that even have the same model number (sw-050300A) that should work, but I wanted to see if anyone has tried any other adapters.

As for the battery indicator, I now see it! It's very faint in the upper right corner of the screen (my brightness is set to high). If people wonder how Arizer could improve the Solo3, there lots they can so on the UI side!

Arizer recommends the USB-A to USB-C cable and charger that ships with the vape. I manage to charge mine with a different cable and some crappy wall outlet charger from China but it is very picky about the charging.

My Core2 is similar. The device has a USB-C input for charging, but USB-C to USB-C cables don’t work at all (I have many cables for testing), the cable must have a USB-A type plug connected to the charging power.
I have one other device (rechargeable vacuum sealer), that behaves exactly the same. All my other vape devices with USB-C will work with either connections as you normally expect.

The Solo 3 wants 5V in for charging and the charger must deliver 15W therefore the charger it ships with is 3A. The USB-A cable is not just a plug type, in the sense that it's voltage limited to 5V whereas USB-C can go much higher. I believe that's the main reason Arizer sends a USB-A to USB-C cable because the Solo wants a maximum of 5V input, so they know that if you use another charger besides theirs with that cable, at least the max voltage in will be 5V.

You can use another charger/cable solution without USB-A as long as you make sure that you deliver 5V,3A to the unit.

Edit: A lot of powerbanks will work as well. If they have USB-A connectors then you know it'll be limited to 5V.

What is the rating (volts and amps) of your adapter? Note that charger than comes with the solo 3 is basically a cheapo Chinese adapter.
I tried to photograph the wording on the adapter, but alas, it's too faint for a decent photo, Also of note, some Raspberry Pi 4 chargers are 5V/3A

Power Supply
Model: SW-050300A
Input 100-240V - 50/60Hz 0.6A Max
Output 5VDC 3000mA [3.0A]
Shenzhen Jiayuanxing Electronic Co. Ltd.
Made in China 2404

The included adapter also includes all the certification stamps, which is very good. Theoretically, any adapter with the same specs should work.
For example: $10 from Amazon, $8 from Amazon, $4 from AliExpress, $6 from AliExpress and UL listed. Just some options that should work.

This one ($20 from amazon) has the same model number and some googling implies it's even manufactured by Shenzhen Jiayuanxing Electronic Co. Ltd

note: I posted before I read @TigoleBitties comment. Thanks!

Update: I just tried my Raspberry Pi branded charger and it works with the Solo 3. It's 5.1V 3A.
